Does anyone else kind of see a Lhurgoyf in that shadow?

Vanilla titan is cool.

Seems a tad color intensive for a vanilla 6/6 don't you think?

Easily one of the cooler and scarier cards in Innistrad.

Guess the triple green is to ensure there's always a fattie left for dedicated green decks in limited when everyone else might pounce on any big creature they can find. Looks like the formats is going to be fairly slow so I suppouse all colors will value big beaters highly.

Looks like I can take Vastwood Gorger out of my pauper Mayael the Anima EDH deck!

The card is soso, but the flavour is nice. Kinder is German for child, no doubt that is the inspiration for this card.

Great flavor, but not the best card outside of mono-green limited.

Imagine some children playing out in the woods, and one of them, lets call him Steve, hears a noise. While the other kids are distracted by whatever they were doing, Steve curiously wanders over in the direction of the noise, past a gnarled old tree. Seeing nothing, he goes around to the other side of the tree, trying to find what made the noise. This is his fatal mistake. The moment he is out of the other children's' view, the malevolent spirit quickly captures steve inside the gnarled tree, immobile and muted, never to be seen again. When the children finally notice they haven't seen steve in a while, they search for a bit, but of course don't know he is trapped in the tree behind them. After a while, the kids give up and start to head home to their parents, when all of a sudden little Jill hears a noise...

@ Aun: that's how languages work. They borrow words from each other, they change, adapt. The german language takes some words from the french one, the english language from the german one. Angst, Kinder, Rucksack etcetc, who cares? It makes languages more colorful.

That art is so creepy. You can see the hands of the kids reaching out of the bag trying to grip the ground. So they don't appear dead yet, just stuffed in a burlap bag and dragged through the woods.

Raises a good point though, why is it fine for adults to be shown massacred (see many other cards in this set and almost every MtG set) yet they rarely show children like this for that reason. Why is it so much more disturbing for us?

This card, in a very disturbingly unique way, is much scarier than Cruel Ultimatum, or anything other of the, yes I actually am going to say this, 11,000+ other cards in Magic. I truly can't believe they really actually did this. And this JUST THE FIRST SET! Dark Ascension is going to make us shit our pants and cry for our mommies. We might as well just accept that now, and maybe see if we can cast Blindness on ourselves so we don't have to look.....

A shame to have the inventive artwork paired with a boring vanilla creature. It could have been given "can't be blocked by humans" or something else human-themed to show that they are powerless to defend their children.

Great flavor and disturbing art! Great potential totally wasted in plain vanilla outcome. Perhaps WotC designers are too busy to fill out card sets with placeholders like this. Too many sets coming out too fast so there's no time to think these through? Annoying to see cards like this.

this card is sick tech in U/R aggro T2 right now. Basically you show it to your opponent and it scaares them into conceding. Or they get really confused/distracted and start making mistakes.

It's triple {G} simply because of Craw Wurm. Sad.

I could be wrong, of course, but that seems likely.

Why the poor ratings, people?
Green commons have been working towards this for years now. See Craw Wurm, Alpha Tyrranax, Vastwood Gorger, Foxfire Oak...
What I'm saying is that this is the first 6/6 for 6 at common without any drawback. It's the culmination of a long chain a creatures. Of course, now that we see it, Vastwood Gorger doesn't look half-bad.

Doesn't look like, but if they end up doing a Slenderman card in Dark Ascension, I will buy ten copies. Since we got a Plants vs. Zombies card in this set, it's certainly possible.

This artwork is pretty cool.

This honestly is a really good common vanilla creature. There aren't many common vanillas out there that can stop a Primeval Titan AND stop the trample damage for just six mana.

@OmegaSerris FCC rules and regulations stipulate that there is no violence shown towards children in child-accessible media (i.e. videogames and most TV shows). violence may be suggested, but not shown or allowed directly. that's why you only see children in noncombat areas in most videogames, and why you never see outright violence towards them in magic or other places.
