Doesn't matter; they'd still have summoning sickness. But this is cool; it's like a faster, weaker, nonflying, colourless, manually-activated Chronozoa. And I love Chronozoa.

Guys, this card makes tokens that are copies of itself. That means the tokens themselves can make more tokens, doubling your army's roster every turn.

Just need mana for it. Easy enough with mana-producing myr and untappers like Myr Galvanizer and Voltaic Key.

probably the only question for this card; do the copies come into play tapped? i can't remember the rule on that ^^

@ ClockworkSwordfish - thank you, i forgot about summoning sickness lol.

@ Mindbend - the infinite mana combo with the myr galvanizer would untap them and give you the mana to re-tap. but you'd need to mass-haste like with akroma's memorial. tho i can't think of a type-2 card for that at the moment...

still, someone will eventually ask a judge, and i'd like to know ahead of time so i can reassure the judge, who may not have seen this problem coming.

and the myr battlesphere doesnt need them to have haste! i forgot. they just need to be untapped.

Mindbend, the reason this costs mana to activate has to do with the fact that if it didn't, this would have quite a few ways to make infinite amounts of myr in one turn.

Better to be average than absolutely broken.

Speaking from a limited perspective, this gets out of hand very quickly if not "nipped in the bud". It won me games by itself and I lost against it when it was played against me.

if you can get everyone's favorite unlimited mana combo out (galvanizer x 2 +paladium myr) and one of these and give it haste or wait a turn you can have unlimited myr propigator tokens which you can continue to blow up with forked bolts commet storms and such so your molten-tail masicore can start bombing your oponnents to death.

its a good card if you play a myr deck or a deck with Drazi Monument so that u can have some tokens in case your awakening zone goes "offline" and if you run MyrDrazi you could put that in to get some early blockers and monument sackers

This card at best is uncommon quality. Though, the fact that you can have your copy make a copy is op as hell for chump blocking in limited. That being said, I think this card is meant for limited mainly.

From a casual perspective, this guy would be fun with Thousand-Year Elixir and the infinite mana Myr combo.

It's undoubtedly a fragile combo, but depending on your playgroup, you might be able to pull it off. Storming your opponent with an army of a million 1/1 Myr, or using them all to make a giant MYR BATTLESPHERE is the sort of thing that goes down in legend. Plus, it's an all-artifact setup, so you could play it in any color.

Not rubbish at all. If it didn't cost mana? He's a Myr, you can use the Galvanizer + Paladium to generate infinite mana alright, but don't forget you'll be untapping all Myr, including this little guy, who'll churn out another copy every three rolls of your infinite engine. Also, it can create tokens to chump, as fodder for your Throne, hitting Metalcraft, or just plainly being annoying. And don't forget Training Grounds. If you can tap it even once, your opponent has a huge puzzle to solve. Also, once it doesn't have summoning sickness, it DOESN'T die to removal, what in itself is great. Not to mention that if you have a Mimic Vat out, for 6 you can start the madness all over again...

I think everyone is missing the point here. If you play an instant that gives the myr a bonus till end of turn, then copy the propagator, the copy keeps the bonus for the rest of the game since the bonus only wears off on the original propagator. With three turns of doing that, you can have a 6/4 with infect that's got some kind of evasion that can copy itself for three mana, not bad I say.

this is one of my favorite cards ever- being able to create more of itself?! Win! Three mana, frustrate, but in conjunction with say a training grounds, its pretty awesome. All of this in addition to throne of geth fodder, hoard smelter dragon fodder, and oh yea, its a 1/1 that while it may be scoffed at for being a puny nothingness, it duplicates. Defenders go.

@Fingermouse- if it doesnt win you the game, it distracts your opponent by trying to get rid of your constantly increasing myr propagators

It's almost in any aspect worse than, say Jund Battlemage. {3 is too much for 1/1 chump blockers, and this ability on tokens wont help much,'coz, you know, mana isn't infinite and stuff.
And any 4-card combo must win game right away, or it isn't worth it.
Hell, three is even bit costy for limited. On other hand it's ok, just don't use it before you run out of cards.

Copying only applies to card printed power/toughness, and ignores effects, counters and stuff, afaik. So tokens won't be progressively stronger if myr galvanizer is on 'field, for example. Bummer

Ahhh....The poor man's Awakening Zone. This thing can be good, but if has to be played right and in the right kind of deck. Of course Awakening Zone stomps this and is harder to get rid of, but the trade-off I guess is that it's colorless and can go in any deck and the tokens can actually attack, where Spawns cannot. Not a terrible card by any means, could possibly combo with the new Elspeth, who knows.

This card won me several games in draft tonight. Perhaps it's not a real bomb in constructed considering the metagame, but if your opponent doesn't remove this before summoning sickness wears off you very rapidly have a couple of extra myr per turn, which can easily turn the tide in your favor. Also, it does drop right into the galvanizer infinite loop since it gets untapped by the galvanizer, giving you an excellent way to abuse infinite mana in a myr deck while maintaining the theme and helping out your myr powerballs.

Weak. Ant Queen cost only GG more (getting a 5/5 body for that) and does the same thing for 1 mana less without having to deal with summoning sickness setting the pace of token reproducing.

Then again, if you already have the myr infinite mana combo out (2 x Myr Galvanizer + Palladium Myr), this could be potentially pulled of 1 turn earlier then the Ant queen for infinite tokens but then you need to give it haste somehow.

This card's great. I played a couple of matches recently where I got this out along with a couple of Myr Galvanizers, a couple of mana-producing Myr, and a Myr Battlesphere, plus a Golem Artisan just for kicks. Lemme tell ya, I've never seen anyone scoop faster than when I dropped 50 tokens of this guy onto the field. I won't say he's the best (he and Myr Galvanizer usually become priorities in my opponents' eyes), but he does fit extremely well into my Myr deck.

with myr galvanizer untapping it each time you use it's ability you get infinite tokens along with mana as long as you have the infinite mana setup, the propagator is just like any other myr that taps: as long as there are 2 galvanizers you have plenty of fun. now if only myr smith fed off of artifacts entering the battlefield rather than being cast

Have Quicksilver Gargantuan enter the battlefield as a 7/7 copy of Myr Propagator. You may now propagate 7/7 Myr Propagator tokens :D

Its not obvious to play this, and thus its also not obvious to kill. I'm telling you now though, this will WIN you games. This will get out of hand. This will be something you put out in front of many many other spells you may initally think are more devestating. Most of all you will pick this in limited. Here's why.

In a non constructed format one of the biggest things is causing a stall and making stalls work to your advantage. This guy is the stall Champion in limited. A 1/1 seems so innocent but the replication gets out of hand very fast. And your opponents WONT keep up with it. Once your up to 3 guys you can start chumping every turn, and once at 6 mana, you turn the game around on its head.

You're doing that all in 1 card, while your opponents will be despairingly dumping creatures to try to catch up. They may even send in an Ezuri's Brigade, or Grasp of Darkness thinking they get the advantage. That's wrong, you have the advantage a billion times over. You can chump, you can team block, and most importantly you don't lose a card from your hand.

I'm never afraid to add one to a deck in draft or sealed. I still have not lost A SINGLE game when he hits the table and gets going, and I've picked one up about 5 times now since he seems to be the scars rare that shows up a lot & no one else wants. In fact opponents have learned to kill him, or die to the board presence he creates. Obvious combos with Tempered Steel, Concussive Bolt, and anything that makes you sac artifacts should be obvious.

I used Training Grounds and Thousand-Year Elixir with this guy, so I could produce a clone of him, then produce another clone, and so on and so forth until I ran out of mana. You know what? It still wasn't worth it.

No, you just double them every turn. The ones that you had at the start of your turn are tapped and the new copies are summon sick.

Turn 1: Play Myr Propagator
Turn 2: Copy it. Now you have 2.
Turn 3: Copy both. Now you have 4.
Turn 4: Copy, now you have 8.

Trivia fail.

Anyway, this is awesome with Necrotic Ooze. Otherwise, can be good in limited, but needs a Myr Galvanizer or two to do much more than provide chump blockers. Not that making chump blockers without even playing more cards is a bad thing. If you have the extra mana this is a good place to use it.

If you start with one Myr Propagator, and activate its ability every turn (assuming you have infinite mana) and none of them die, you'll get the fibbonaci sequence: 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144...

Goes good with a rat deck-Put this guy into our graveyard, have a Necrotic Ooze and a Marrow-Gnawer.

Now, if you have multiple Marrow Gnawers in your deck, you help yourself by putting one into the graveyard for your ooze. Now your ooze can multiply your rats and itself. Use a Buried Alive and let the swarm of rats begin. You can clone your oozes, or double your rats minus the sacrifice rat. 10 rats could turn into 200 if you have enough Ooze clones. Put a Coat of Arms or Door of Destinies and chaos ensues. Coat of Arms works a lot better-So what if you buff your opponent. Unless they're playing rats, you should be pretty safe so long as you keep the numbers up. Besides, they'll all have fear.

Cute card, I appreciate the ability, even without Training Grounds or Galvanizer Manatricks(you say infinite combo like it's not written right on the card?) Sorta dies to any red/black mass-effects, such as Pyroclasm or Pestilence, although there are plenty of ways to buff it(with two galvs, they're 3/3's for 3)

Anyone who has been suggesting cards like Ant Queen and Jund Battlemage are clearly missing the point; card advantage vs removal. Ant Queen is a prime target for Doom Blade, and even though she can poop out a couple of tokens in responce, they effectively stopped your growth potential right there. Your 1/1 bugs pose little threat to them. Myr Propagator lacks that problem, because while it grows much slower, once it makes a single copy, their Doom Blades are completely useless. They effectively allow you to pay 3 mana to counter a killspell aimed at them. Ant-Queen has no such advantage, because the quality of her tokens are simply inferior in quality.

I like to run this with Urabrask/Thousand-Year Elixir and INFINITE MANA. It's a combo I highly recommend.

you guys realize that you dont need a thousand year elixer to infinitely reproduce this guy, you only need one propagator, two galvanizer's and a palladium myr. the turn after you get the first propagator into play you can infinitely use that SINGLE propagators ability. you dont need to use the other tokens to make more tokens as long as the galvanizers keep un-tapping the original

Think of it as something to throw mana at when you have nothing better to do. With some pump spells like
tempered steelMyr GalvanizerMyr matrixgaea's anthem
and whatnot you can get out a pretty beefy creature for three mana without a card lost. The best part is once you have a couple out it is very hard to get rid of. Not only that but its flavour is awesome. I love this card.

Love this card! Not overly powerful and difficult to abuse, but it certainly poses a threat that can easily spiral out of control against an unweary opponent. Play this with Lodestone Myr and a ton of random mana generating myrs, and you've got yourself and infintely powerful attacker WITH trample.
