In limited this is an overrun with an upside for metalcraft decks. Falter was a house at times, and this thing could do the other player in on casting. Looks like a solid card for limited!

yeah I'd say a great finisher for red as well. (in limited)

It should either have 1-2 Mana less casting coast OR no metalcraft restriction.
Like it is now it's nothing more than a mediocre limited card.

This is not strictly limited. This is what I wanted Destructive Force to be.

Could be worth it in an aggro metalcraft deck. Otherwise, not so much.

For the prerelease, I pulled two of these. At first glance, the mana cost really turned me off, but I decided to play them anyways. This card is surprisingly good. The damage alone won me two games, and denying them blockers picked me up another three wins what with how quickly Battle Cry racks up. This isn't an absolutely devastating card everyone should run, but its usefulness only really shines when you use it.

This is the kind of card that could have been uncommon and maybe impacted Constructed. But they went for a very cool common for Limited. Which isn't a bad choice, because probably the aggresively-costed version wouldn't have been played anyway (and in Limited it would have come less often).

Anyone notice the lightning looking like the number 5 in the art? Should've been 5 damage, not 4!

This card is so underrated. If people would just give metalcraft a chance and design a good deck (which is possible), this card is a sleeper hit....and its an affordable common.
If the metalcraft stipulation was removed, everyone would give this card a 5/5. There are few cards in
Red that have as much potential as this for an unstoppable finisher.
BTW...this card has already won me at least 4 games in limited by itself. One win ended in 18 damage during that turn.

While cards like red sun's zenith and comet storm are highly flexible in red burn/control strategies in Standard, this card has one distinct advantage: It is a wonderful card to have in your grave when you use chandra ablaze's ultimatum since the others are ''x'' spells and will hit for zero.

flavor text should have simply been "Shock and awe."

Never seen this card used effectively. And every time I personally tried I regretted it.

I saw a fantastic infect red/white deck today. Used artifact infectors with Tempered Steel & Burn/white control. This was the utterly devastating finisher. Assuming New Phyrexia has much more to add in {R\W} I could see this guy being pretty useful.

Great for many pauper/singleton decks as well.

Can make for a great finisher in a Goblin / Artifact deck. By the time you're able to cast Concussive Bolt, they've usually got critters big enough to eat your swarming horde without any problem. This not only gets your creatures past for the final swing, but delivers that extra 4 points of damage.

Turn 4 Ezuri's Brigade, Turn 5 this. That's 12 damage plus whatever else you swing with. That puts the opponent into critical territory ready to be finished off with burn spells or trample damage from the brigade next turn.

This has been a game winner for my aggro metalcraft/token deck more than once.
