Great flavor text. No synergy with Precursor Golem, though, unfortunately; read the card. It says "instant or sorcery".
I don't know why this didn't just say: "o2: Target artifact creature gets +1/+1 or gains your choice of flying, trample, or haste until end of turn." I guess because they figured people would read it too fast and think the "or" was an "and".

@ ParadOxymoron ...because you can chose/pay both individually, I guess! It does not have good synergy wit Precursor Golem nor it starts pumping every artifact creature at once... But yes, it might work fine with Training Grounds using Grand Architect to bring it on.
Synergy the other direction...cause they're both Golems and...you know what, never mind.

I think what ZuesAscendant is talking about is that with the Precursor Golem is that when you use an instant or sorcery on ONE of any golems,it will hit all of the others. Let's say you play Groundswell on a golem token. It will give the Precursor, the Artisan and the other two or more (depending on you have a Golem Foundry etc.) golems on the battlefield the +2/+2 or +4/+4.

So, at first you may THINK he is wrong, because we would read the ability of the Artisan. But, overall...it...would have been evaded by merely saying "Golems will do well with the Precursor Golem because of its ability."... Which would be found more on the Precursor Golem card, and not here...
So essentially since this card doesnt get tapped when you use his abilities, if you put it in say a Myr infinite mana deck, you could pretty much have all your creatures have infinite damage with haste, flying, and trample!!! Is this correct?

I managed to get this out along with the myr galvanizer / palladium myr mana loop... then i got out a myr propagator. an infinite amount of myr tokens with an infinite amount of +1/+1 and flying, trample and haste is not something to take lightly. tho it's hard to get out the end result was worth it

When this card came from design it was
4 2: Until end of turn, target artifact creature gets +1/+1 or gains flying, trample, or infect. 2/2
We played with it, and it ended games very quickly. So Mike Turian (the lead developer) made it fatter and slower. Usually creatures that can give themselves +1/+1 until end of turn have the same power and toughness ("square stats"). If they didn't, it would double the amount of arithmetic.
6 2: Until end of turn, target artifact creature gets +1/+1 or gains flying, trample, or infect. 4/4
Mike had to go on vacation, so he asked the team to do more play tests, and put Aaron Forsythe in charge of the file. It became clear that infect was the problem. if your opponent didn't leave creatures back to block, infect plus power pumping was game. If they did, flying plus infect was too fast a clock. So we replaced infect with haste. Since this made it slower, we took it back down a mana, and made it one smaller.
That seemed to do it. A lot of development is an iterative process of finding what you don't enjoy, and fixing it!

Late in a game this can be a surprise finisher if you have access to a lot of mana. This could be land, this could be a bunch of creatures/tokens and Ashnod's Altar, whatever. This guy can give himself haste, trample and pump. Liquimetal Coating can have him beef up any creature you want.
Green mana ramp and mana-producing artifacts like Palladium Myr can make it happen.

Great finisher in my casual splicer deck, especially since it's green/white, the flying is invaluable.
I give him a 3.5/5 because he is a bit expensive but his abilities work on any artifact creature, so that's a great bit of versatility.

It's a golem that makes other golems!
Or, makes them better, at least.

My Infinimyr deck needed a win condition, and here it is. Though he must have been exhausted, having had to fit up several dozen myr into behemoths..

I like cards like this. They're highly adaptable and they give you a lot of options. The abilities thing really takes the cake. I might make a golem deck, and if I do this guy's an autoinclude.
For comparison, look back at Phyrexian Splicer. Not a creature and can target non-artifacts, but the same abilities for tapping and the same cost. I think this guy works better, though splicer has the ability to shut down enemy creatures too.
