Well. Um. 2 for a 1/1 with flying is fair, albeit a bit on the expensive side. Then you have a semi-functional mana fixer? I guess? It's a really weird card, but it's pretty cool. Plus, weird vigilance. Cool? 4/5 for being interesting and at least sort of useful.

Makes for a decent infinite combo with grinning ignus, any 'tap for damage' enchantments, and a couple flamekin bannerets.
Digit that is retarded, why would you do that? It doesnt even generate mana at all and requires 3 cards, one easily removed because its a 1/1 creature, what is the point? For one more mana you can go Paradise Mantle + Freed From The Real + Grimoire Thief , which actually can win instead of creating a stupid no-gain-no-lose loop.

I don't really think you understand the combo BelloAbril. heartstone makes the ability cost 1 less making it: "1; untap add one mana of any color...", with paradise mantle adding one mana whenever it becomes tapped. Tapping it for paradise mantle generates the 1 mana needed to use it's ability to untap itself which adds another one mana .thus ,evertime pili-pala is untapped it generates an extra one mana of any color which can add together infinite times.

Curse this game. I have a deck built partially around the Pili-Pala/Heartstone combo; I use either Presence of Gond or Multani's Harmony to achieve either infinite elves or infinite mana. However, I keep running across new (to me) cards that would work well in the deck. In this case, it's Paradise Mantle, which would eliminate a single point of failure. (There's also Utopia Vow, which would work, but Paradise Mantle is faster and more versatile.)
...now if only I could find something comperable to the Argothian Elder, I'd eliminate the last remaining SPoF.

Bluh. The horribly broken untap symbol makes combos so pitifully effortless. Just glancing at this card tells me Mana Echoes plus Presence of Gond on this is game over.

For all of you wondering about the name, it means butterfly in Welsh. Shadowmoor/Lorwyn had a vague Celtic theme and Wizards seem to have forgotten what a butterfly looks like...

Somebody mentioned this card in Grand Architect's page. Figured I'd point that out to those who see this card before the Architect on their own.

Or, rather than going with Paradise Mantle and needing something else to flood the mana through you can use Hermetic Study so that you can do infinite pings. I have a deck built around that combo and other untap creatures. Hooray for machinegunning.

To stop yourself from getting 2-for-1-ed, try bramblesnap or kyren negotiations. Or an equipment, like Viridian Longbow. These are less likely to get yourself hated like the infinite combos will, but hey, for some people, this and the negotiations is all it will take.

this+ heartstone or training grounds+ any enchantment that has: Tap: This creature deals one damage to target creature or player.
GG? If you have one mana for the combo, you get one mana back and an untap for the next 1 damage, then pay one to get the untap and one more mana, etc.
I guess someone should mention Training Grounds, plus Paradise Mantle on this guy, makes a pretty sweet color fixing infinite mana combo. Tap for mana, untap for mana. Rinse and repeat, and it can be done on turn 2, (1 if you're good).

Ha it's not like activated abilities can be made cheaper or this card could be tapped for mana or anything...

I like to think the flavor text is actually referencing the untap symbol.
You now have an infinite mana combo in any colors. Use your favorite fireball, or enchant Pili-Pala with something like Arcane Teachings for instant win.

Mistakes. Wizards tends to make them. This was one — just look at all the combos. This wasn't a force in Standard, but in casual it causes many tables to be flipped.

Considering how many infinite mana combos this card is the heart of, how does it only have a 3.615 star rating (after my vote)?! At worst its a 1/1 flying for {2} that has activated vigilance for {1} or sometimes {2}, which while worse than Hovermyr isn't that bad. But with all those combos...

Ridiculously broken combos. One card with about a dozen different ways to get infinite colored mana at least in actually doable combos...

For black decks: Necrotic Ooze (+Palladium Myr). This fits into one Buried Alive.
For any deck: Paradise mantle + Mesmeric Orb.
I play these combos in a few decks.
Turn 2: Island, Training Grounds, Pili-Pala
Turn 3: Land, Grand Architect
