This card is one of my favorite creatures in shards. When this thing sticks, I normally end up winning with 40 or more life. The triple color cost is hard to pull, but completely worth it. Plus, it's a rhino! How cool is that?

early game toughness, lifelink, for 3? Very good. Staple in alomost every bant deck.
And its creature type is amazing.

A very sturdy bottom that only gets better as you get more exalted creatures out.

Rhino + lifelink + 3/4 body + bant colors = tremendous enjoyment.

Noble Hiearch, Rhox War Monk, Rafiq Of The Many, and Finest Hour. 24 damage if you attack with Rhox War Monk, and you gain 24 life and if you happen to play Battlegrace Angel later in the game... forget about it. you will do 28 damage and gain 56 life. SICK is all I have to say my brothers.

This is a very solid creature. 3/4 for three Mana is really good. And lifelink on top of it is even better. I'm building up an exalted-deck wich around 75% exalted-creatures in it. And Rhox War Monk. This card is not only good, but very flavorful. Artwork, Name, Creature Types, Mana... Everything fits to the others. A very "Bantish" card. Very well done, R&D.

a nice card, good in the cycle, but it doesnt flavor bant too well, I mean, it doesnt have any solo attack ability, it doesnt have exaulted, it makes a good blocker I guess but idk, I like even the windwright mage better, at least it flies with lifelink

I suppose when you get a few exaulted guys going, it is a good swinger, life link naturally is always good and exaulted will pump it to huge

I love him!!!! I use it every time I can, especially early in game. Then, I will draw Windbrisk Raptor and he lose his importance

I really don't like how the creatures get stronger and stronger every Set

I've seriously bought about a booster box worth of shards, over time, and I have only pulled one of these!! And I pulled it today! I was stoked, haha to be honest the rare in the pack was immortal coil (which sucks!) and I was more excited about this card! Solid, solid card.

Im new to this guys, can anyone tell me the best way to get cards? And too elaborate on that does anyone know a good way to cherry-pick decks, boosters and/or individual cards? Not that i've really looked around much I think this would be the best place to ask.

In an environment like Zendikar/Alara where mana fixing is the easiest thing ever the 3 colour mana cost is barely a drawback.

@froggytherock

Rather than Phantom Warrior, use Jhessian Infiltrator. Same P/T and ability but easier to cast.

@ nineyears:

Multiple instances of Lifelink do not stack. They are redundant:

702.13e Multiple instances of lifelink on the same object are redundant.

Such a great card. I love how it's in bant. All sorts of exalted guys and this guy is a deadly combo. Just attack with Rhoxy and he'll be a 9/10 or something crazy with lifelink. Perfect

truly awesome. always a "no discussion" 4-of in my bant deck.
(which i'm quite proud of by the way.)
very rarely am i disappointed in the reaction my opponent gives when seeing this along with Noble Hierarch on my second turn.

He makes Windwright Mage sad.
'Cause she can't make pancakes like him.

I love the artwork a lot. It has that "clear" feeling the Alara artworks have, and a funny kick as well. it's an awesome card, too, but there are other to replace it i think... Too vanila for 3 colors. If you manage to get it out 3rd turn he's super cool though.

God, that artwork... seriously, this is perhaps one of the best I've seen, if only for how insanely vibrant it is.

Competes with Kitchen Finks in eternal formats as anti-aggro tech. Better than Kitchen Finks in Legacy due to being able to carry equipment like Umezawa's Jitte better. In Modern Kitchen Finks sees more play due to its combo potential, ability to survive sweepers, and less restrictive mana cost. However, Kitchen Finks is vulnerable to hate such as Pillar of Flame, Magma Spray, Deathrite Shaman, and Scavenging Ooze whereas Rhox War Monk is not.

I think Loxodon Smiter is generally better than this card at the moment due to the Modern meta being heavier on discard and counters and relatively light on aggro.

This and Knight of the Reliquary are the cards that inspired me to pursue the Bant archetype.

Rhox War Monk can dominate many strategies when played correctly. It can shutdown heavy aggro and out-race tempo. It can be used as anti-burn for having 4 toughness (a.k.a. above Lightning Bolt range) and lifelink to help you survive it. If anything, it is a great holder of equipment.

I almost always keep at least one in my deck to fetch with a Green Sun's Zenith when needed. I guess it could be thought of as Batterskull #2.
