I played Rith against a white life-gain deck, two hits and I had 32 Saprolings because of the commonality of white, then green, in play.

This is a very popular tournament card, the new art kicks major butt, and saprolings in a Naya color card? This is probably the easiest to cast dragon out of the 5 legendary dragons from Invasion, and it has one of the best abilities.

it looks like a really good card, but i don't have one so i guess my rating isn't very accurate

Doesn't this make exponential tokens if you keep choosing green?

Forgeling, according to Wizards rule 214.1 A permanent is a card or token in play. So, Rith does create exponential tokens. You may know already you get tokens for enchantments in play that share the color also, and multi-colored cards as long as they have the color in their casting cost.
I like to use some elfs and Natural Order to get him out turn 3 (I'm sure there's faster), I've also used skyshroud elves & elvish pipers to get him out.
I think of all dragons, Rith is the best. A 6/6 flyer for 6 mana he's insanely powerful just for that but his ability is one of the most useful and very cheap to trigger, and his trigger is green! Get him out in turn 2 or 3 with natural order/elves you can have enough mana to start his tokens, AND his ability has no negatives. It's not like you have to "give up" the damage or pay life, you do damage AND create tokens so you can have your cake and eat it too. He's also one of the easiest dragons to get out because he's white/green/red. One can use skyshroud elves, natural order, dramatic entrance, or stick him in an elf deck with elvish piper and Fierce Empath, and his ability requires 3 mana, of which one is green the most likely deck to have him. There's so many ways he can be found and put into play being green based.
One of my top favorite cards.

New art is infinitely better, thank you thank you thank you.
I've never had the pleasure of owning this guy so i've never tested it, but it seems to me that by the time you're able to hit your opponent with a 6/6 flier, saprolings are going to be pretty useless, yes?

This card combos pretty well with Dragon Broodmother. You can make the saps and feed 'em to Broodmother's dragons.
I love dragons, perhaps too much, and this combo lets you some get pretty monstrous dragons quickly.
Plus, Todd Lockwood is godly and never fails to deliver awesome dragon art!

I find this card to be both powerful, yet over rated. He's a large flying dragon, which is great, but he has no anti removal which is basically a necessity on any high mana card because you don't want to lose that much mana investment to a doomblade. The other downside is your actually paying mana for the tokens, and it's slow to get them going, by contrast you could use ant queen with a lot of mana to pump out several tokens a turn. You also have several other options for token creation that take no mana at all or are similiar but better (oona, mycoloth, dragon broodmother, rampaging baloths, are some common examples). Basically after he hits play your pinning a lot of your chances on winning the game on this one card since you will be using up a lot of mana to get his saproling creation going. His ability also reminds me a lot of pollenbright wings, that depending on the deck might actually be better (aka attach pollenbright wings to uril the miststalker). If I had to choose a dragon to get into play in a hurry I'd rather go with numot, once he's in play and his ability is working my opponent will be without lands and then the game is all wrapped up.
So, my vote is still a very good card but I wouldn't rate it among the highest, I'll give it a 3.5/5.

My EDH General. I don't lose often. Really good with anything else that makes green tokens, like Saproling Symbiosis, in order to rapidly increase your token count.
Am I the only one that's thought of using Rith in combination with Warstorm Surge and Coat of Arms? Of course Warstorm Surge wouldn't cause Rith's ability to activate (since it's not combat damage), but one hit with Rith and you summon Saprolings. Each one of those gets a +1/+1 for each other Saproling you summon. Then, each Saproling would do damage equal to their power to target creature or player.
For example, hit your opponent with Rith and choose green. If there are 10 green permanents on the field, you get 10 saprolings. Each one of those would enter the field as an 11 due to coat of arms. That's a total of 11x10 extra damage you can dish out because of Warstorm.
The combo seems a bit high cost, but I run a red/green saproling deck with a spruce of white and black. Life and limb makes the Saprolings into land, and Terra Eternals keep them from being slaughtered.

Rith, the Awakener is to the Primordial Dragons what Nicol Bolas is to the Elders. Filling her deck up with 'staples' and 'obvious cards' ADDITIONALLY happens to give you cards that feel just sooo in flavor for the colors. I think that's because Naya is ultimately "Good-Aligned" and Grixis is ultimately "Evil-Aligned" so each of these color-alignments are fed by cards that just tend to have a high density of Mythic-feeling, even back before Mythic Rarity was a thing. Like Doubling Season. WOW, what a card. That's absurd. Ajani Vengeant. Wait, he's a natural Mythic. Well, speaking of the Lion King, I think Ajani's Duel Deck is a great place to start for a Rith, the Awakener EDH deck. Don't believe me? It's got Titanic Ultimatum. Come back to me after you've cast Titanic Ultimatum behind a wall of saprolings and a Beastmaster Ascension. Yeah, that's what I thought.
I actually don't think I'd want to use Primeval Titan for TWO reasons: a) he's banned, so forget my suggestion to put him in Darigaaz. :( b) even if he weren't banned, for some reason Rith here in this art feels so Forest-y and yet Light that I'd want to use Elf sources of mana. Primeval Titan definitely has Wildness going for it, it's SUPER Green that way, but it just doesn't feel very Light. I'd hesitate even to put it in a Garruk Wildspeaker theme deck, but I'd probably cave because those are like, made perfect for each other.
Good creature options for Rith include just packing some of the way undercosted "Zoo" creatures in {G}{W}{R}, like Kird Ape. Singleton creatures of medium size aren't the best way to get the drop on people in EDH, but everyone needs 1-drops, 2-drops, and 3-drops, and Zoo Colors have access to the really aggressive ones that can get the game started.
What I like about Zoo is that it starts off on the premise of high-speed aggression that puts RDW on the map, but unlike RDW it has a strong midgame and endgame too, where pure Red wants to end the game before things get that far. There won't be any running out of pressure if you play Rith, that's for sure. Oh yeah one more thing: Trostani. Godsire. Yeah.
Populate. We're gonna make you pop-u-u-late. We'll teach you the proper toys to make lots of boys, we'll hide in the dirt and then Pounce! I'll show you what Greaves to wear, How to fix your lands, and throw in everything that bands!

Wonderful card, absolutely wonderful. Although saprolings are my favorite token spammer I have mixed feelings about this card. As mentioned previously this card would make a good EDH general and based on its mana cost and ability's speed it seems to fit that niche nicely since that's what the format revolves around - bombs like Rith. Removal is common in almost any format so the idea is to play "investment cards" which make removal less likely. Darksteel Plate and Lightning Greaves are 2 I see in almost every EDH deck which make your general less prone to removal, however as I said to other posts on other cards removal is a poor excuse to say a card is bad. To me it's drawbacks are circumstantial. In context of non-EDH based decks this card is not very useful unless you're running some sort of ramp like Birds of Paradise or Llanowar Elves so you can turn 3 Pandemonium followed by turn 4 Dramatic Entrance at the end of your opponent's turn, but the chances of having enough permanents on the board that will slap your opponent in the face with damage seem unlikely at the stage of the game in which case you may as well play that strategy in EDH in the first place (but without the entrance since it states from your hand). I reckon to best make use of this card in any deck, forget attacking and maintaining the token generation, use your tokens to some mass stack CIP effect. I like damage/mana generation so Mana echoes followed by a fireball, Comet Storm, Disintegrate, Banefire, etc. seems nice. I killed 2 players in EDH with that trick (more often than I thought I would!) but I had Ashnod's Altar for extra mana and damage (^_^).
4/5 - not perfect but highly useful.

The thing is, if you are getting damage through with a 6 CMC tri-dragon... I can do more with else. At that point I should have won. Making 1200 saprolings or something like that is fun and cool, but not really as good as, oh, making them discard their hand, bouncing their board, killing them outright, et cetera. Rith is the win-moreist of the whole win-more dragon cycle.
