Impressive effect but not consistently gamebreaking. At five mana, it's simply average.

I think this card gets the biggest boost to 2010 rules changes when they come into effect. Anyone else see this as being viable under the next ruleset?

What will the new rules do for this?

M10 will not change the effectiveness of this enchantment. Deathtouch creatures under M10 can use the same damage-splitting as is currently possible with all creatures. In other words, they are exempt from choosing an order to lethally damage blockers in, as all non-deathtouch creatures will be doing after M10.

I once attached this card to Lord of Extinction in late game and completely demolised 9 creatures simultaneously without losing my creature to win the game.

When it enchants a 1/1 black green creature, can you decide which creatures (that are able to block) take the damage?

In some ways its more important to consider that your other creatures are all getting through any time you attack with the one that has gift of the deity attached to it. Your deity of scars enchanted with gift of the deity attacks, along with say a creakwood liege and a myriad of worm tokens, and your opponent must have their creatures block the deity who will just regenerate, removing all their creatures, and taking damage from the other attackers. Its a step up from the prized unicorn, whom as anyone can tell you who has ever enchanted a branchwood armor on one, can be a really destructive play, trading several creatures for 1. Since one of the colors is green it also makes perfect sense to have giant growths, that can do away with more creatures and keep yours alive at the same time, or simply give the creature first strike with something like rakeclaw gargantuan.

The mana cost is well worth the ability, splash in Bloom Tender and Devoted Druid which in turn is mana production. Remember this can be played with green or black so it really doesn't matter that much. In addition to its deathtouch I hope you are all aware you can choose which creatures your death-damage get assigned to right?

works really well with odius trow. he gets deathtouch, everyone has to block him, then just regenerate
This is a pretty brutal ability when the card combos with itself, but it's just so expensive, and unlike most of these auras, this one pretty much absolutely needs to enchant a multicolored creature to be worth playing.

It's cool, but the only real synergy this card has with any of the b/g creatures of this set is Odious Trow and Diety of Scars. I admit the effect is pretty awesome on those 2 creatures, but if I am paying 5 CMC for an aura I would like it to be worth playing on more than 2 creatures.

This + Odius Trow = Awesome.
I attack with everything, all damage gets through, three of your creatures die, I regenerate.

The synergy with this and its respective Demigod was amazing,
But it was all in the shadow of a fairly high CMC.
I love the card, but it's unfortunately really hard to pull off.

This is a great card. It's just great. You should team it up with Doomgape or the Creakwood Liege. Or if you could find a black creature with first strike... But trough it was ment for Deity of Scars.

No mention of Spiritmonger, really? Son I am disappoint! He regenerates!!!
I'm surprised this is rated so low? it's basically a plague wind (that you can see coming) and you need to sac a little creature in the process, unless your creature can regenerate or something.

I love that Hag Hedge-Mage is featured on this card, especially considering how creepy she looks.

Instant Classic Combo on one enchantment. This could easily act as a plague wind.
The old thicket basilisk plus lure combo built in providing it's on a B/G creature. Good surpise factor too. Might be a little high at 5mc but it has the potential to wipe a board clean. 3/5

I cannot believe this hasn't been mentioned yet, but Spiritmonger Swing turn 6 with an 8/8 Regenerating deathtoucher, one sided board clear and get spiritmonger beefed up horrendously. If they didn't swing last turn (Which is plausible, no one wants to feed the monger) they will be crying a bit inside.

Excellent with Deity of Scars itself, which can, using the effect, kill anything that comes its way and regenerate.

Sweet card, but I'm wondering who thought printing it with a Merfolk wielding the GB deities axe was flavourful...
I love the over exaggeration in the comments. Under no rules past or present is this as good as plague wind, and I say that as an old old player that learned the game on thicket lure. The issue is death touch. Its always always under every combat damage rule only been able to kill up to X blocking creatures, where x is its power. You need to do the damage to get the kill, unlike thicket that kills after combat regardless. So on a 1/1 BG creature, you kill up to 3 untapped creatures defending player controls. Not saying its awful, has its uses, but be reasonable
Lifelink, first strike, double strike, trample, indestructible, flying, deathtouch, vigilance, shroud, haste Whenever this creature deals combat damage to an opponent, draw a card. Whenever this creature deals combat damage to an opponent, that player discards a card. This creature can't be blocked. All creatures able to block this creature do so. R/W: This creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn. 24/24

Another deity enchantment that has synergy with itself, but this one falls flat. While clearing the board is good, you can do it for less than 5 mana and sacrificing a decently strong creature (it needs at least 1 power for every creature past 2 it kills).
