Sacrifice beats indestructable, so use him to take out an opponent's Darksteel Colossus or other big brute. Combo with Magus of the Unseen to steal an opponent's artifact creature, attack with it, and sac it afterwards to get one of your artifacts.
I agree, your own Ornithopters are the best thing to kill.

Ironic flavor! This thing is more likely to get artifacts TO sunder the world, rather than the other way around. (The best use of this is to target your own low cost not-very-necessary artifacts, then fetch the pieces to some insane artifact combo, like sword of the meek, thopter foundry, and timesieve. Would be great in highlander.)

Stuck him in a Thopter Foundry deck, and he works wonders. The Thopter Foundry+Sword of the Meek combo is easy enough to get out, but he can get the Sword should you be unable to find it, or search for a Krark-Clan Ironworks for an infinite life/mana/thopters combo. With a Time Sieve on the field you get infinite turns too. Absolutely spectacular, it's like having a little bit of Tezzeret without having to build up for the tutor cost.

Thran Forge, Mycosynth Lattice, or the aforementioned Neurok Transmuter to pick off your opponent's creatures at will. Unless they're playing a dedicated artifact deck they're unlikely to put much better stuff out. I am upset that they didn't make an opposing card for Sorine Relicbane though, preferably in red.

edit, well now that scars/besieged has come out this card just gets better, now its even easier to turn all your opponents creatures into artifacts.

I use this guy as my EDH general. Things get insane quickly.
T4: Play Arcum. T5: Sac an artifact creature to bring out Myr Turbine for artifact creatures every turn. T6: Darksteel Forge (Or this out first if someone's playing red)
Nucleon, you don't know the half of it. I've put together an Arcum EDH deck that can literally play every card in the deck by turn 7 or quicker (turn 6 in the goldfish match, but against real opponents you probably want to spend a turn fetching up some protection for him, like a Swiftfoot Boots). The key combo is Arcum, Thornbite Staff, Summoning Station, and Mycosynth Lattice (all of which can be fetched up by Arcum, of course). Tap the Summoning Station to make a Pincher, and it's an artifact due to Mycosynth, so eligible for sacrifice. Tap Arcum and sacrifice the Pincher to fetch up whatever you want, and the Pincher dying triggers the abilities on the Summoning Station and the Staff, untapping both the Station and Arcum. Lather, rinse, repeat.

This is amazing! I want one for my Memnarch EDH to make it easier to pull out Mycosynth Lattice so that from there I can proceed to steal their side of the field, mana allowing.
EDIT: Got one, booted Memnarch from the Commander spot, replaced by this guy. Holy crap he's some kind of amazing. Font of Mythos? Got it. Howling Mine? Got it. Darksteel Forge? Got it. Oh no, running low on artifact creatures. I'll just go get Prototype Portal and imprint an Ornithopter so we don't have to worry about that anymore. Holy crap.

There's a guy running a T6 lockdown with this in EDH. Ruins the game for most people and everyone tends to scoop when he pulls it of.
Hey gets Forge, Disk and Lattice out and is able to sweep the field ininitely for 1 mana. Not to mention if he chooses he can infinite mindslaver as well with Elixir of Immortality.

I'm pretty sure you can cheat a little here. The creature sacrifice is part of the effect, not part of the cost of his ability, so you can --Edit: Don't listen to me. This is what happens when I read cards wrong--
Holy crap, it's the Tinkerman! ...well almost. But he has two purposes. He can fetch YOU an Akroma's Memorial or something similarly powerful, or he can in a pinch destroy the opponent's Blightsteel Colossus or something.

In my opinion one of the very best Generals in EDH, his versatility and his uncanny ability make him a force to be reckoned with. while other commanders rely on alot of removal tactics, combat and additional tutoring for good cards to make things happen, i am looking at hegdgemon and glissa, this guy here gets fed one tiny stupid myr and he can turn the whole game around in a few turns. pull out those lightning greaves and the darksteel forge, turn him into and artifact, give your indestructible hexproof general wings andn copy him with mirrorworks combined with mirror gallery and watch the world burn...
you could also use karn the silver golem to put lightning greaves on your newly created artifact creature named darksteel forge. can shove that improved avacyn into your newly fetched conjurer's closet. all fetched by tinker on legs...
if you are worried about finding your creatures, well you can always mill yourself with cards like keening stone and then fetch karn the liberated with stuff like Argivian Restoration, drafna's restoration etc. and then just elixir of immortality the rest back in your library. the only thing you need to worry about is red damage spells and blue of course...the rest is in complete lockdown.

They were careful to make sure this wasn't a reusable Tinker. Even with the limitations, it's pretty strong. Play your Shield Spheres to stop early attackers completely (and build Academy + affinity), sac them for missing parts of combos (Crucible of Worlds is a good pick) later on.

Use him to tutor up Thornbite Staff and then you can use his ability multiple times a turn. Once managed to tutor out Mycosynth Lattice, Darksteel Forge, and Nevinyrral's Disk in one turn after grabbing the staff. Surprised to not see it mentioned because of how well it works with his ability.

Either way, card neutral repeatable instant speed tutoring for 4 mana is still a bit powerful. I've seen an EDH deck built around this guy. Even better, you can sacrifice a Mishra's Factory to him. TInker on a land. Who knew?
