5 mana for a 3/1 first strick haist? I will pass. 4 mana still no, 3 mana, playable. But its not.

3 mana for a 3/1 first strike, haste seems a little overpowered considering in red the generic 3 power haste guy is a 3/2 haste for 4, 3/3 for 5, or a 3/3 for 4 no haste. The one toughness is a bit of a letdown.

Ambush party wrecks your creatures and laughs off your lightning bolts. Well, maybe your shocks. Scorching spears? Crap.
Nice nod to Tor Wauki in the flavor text, an old Legends red/black creature who sniped people with his bow. Back in the days of Homelands, haste was a rare ability, and I believe this was the first card to combine it with First Strike. Flavorwise Benalish Knight combined Flash with First Strike, making it a nice surprise blocker, something that might have made this more playable.
And it doesn't have enough Value to be a German Chocolate...
A Chocolate Hill Giant is a 4/3 with First Strike and Trample for 6 mana.
This is....
An Irish Cream. Irish Cream cards are cards that have a variety of very French Vanilla abilities with remixed power, toughness, and mana costs of recognizable Vanilla Creatures. Like a Vanilla Flier that was tweaked up with abilities like Defender or First Strike, or a Vanilla Reacher that's given Deathtouch, a Vanilla Haste creature given either First Strike or Trample or a Vanilla Vigilance creature given Lifelink.
A Hazelnut Coffee creature is a card that you would give 3 or 4 stars on Gatherer, but NOT 4.5 or more, and are based on French Vanilla and Irish Cream design, and DOESN'T have so much Chocolate value that you'd be upset to see it at common in Limited, where playing with "Low Tech" and still winning is actually pretty fun! :D

For the Human type, it combos with Avacyn's Collar, Bladed Bracers, Bonds of Faith, Butcher's Cleaver, Heavy Mattock, Herald of War, and Silver-Inlaid Dagger.
For the Rogue type, it combos with Cloak and Dagger, Frogtosser Banneret, Oona's Blackguard, and any card with a Prowl cost.
A French Hill Giant is a 3/2 with Haste for 4.
