At +3/+0, it's like a bigger Bonesplitter.

Should have had a deathtouch vs. Werewolves.

I would have preferred it if it dealt additional damage to werewolves, but I guess they wanted a "humans pick up random junk better than other creatures do" subtheme.

@ Lord of Tresserhorn: Word.

In human decks, this will be a good one. Especially to make Fiend Hunters nice and scary.

Fetch it with Trinket Mage. Enjoy your turn-four 5/2 in mono-blue.

Yeah this shouldn't have the word Silver in it and not do something with werewolves, it would be fine with another name, but it really feels inappropriate what it does with werewolves running around and a name like that.

Dude, keep that thing away from me! Don't you remember what happened to your cousin last time you used this?

Decent in block. If I'm playing 1&2 for an equipment, I'd rather be running Machetes. That extra 0/1 has saved countless early-game creatures.

From the planeswalker guide:

"Talismans of silver no longer frighten nocturnal horrors."

"Avacyn's presence was so powerful that faith in her yielded true power for clerics and other faithful: prayers to her could cause evil creatures to turn away, silver weapons blessed by her priests could slay great horrors"

Deathtouch vs. Werewolves would have made this artifact useless (not sealed worthy either), albeit more flavorful.
Im glad they didnt give it an effect that depends on your OPPONENTS deck, and instead gave it an effect based on your OWN deck, the part that you can actually control.

This card is VERY VERY good in human decks running first strikers like Odric, Master Tactician, Elite Inquisitor, or Silverblade Paladin or with Invisible Stalker decks. You may not want to run this in a deck that doesn't use humans or fully utilize the 1 extra power. You can get +2/+0 and trample for cheaper from Rancor, so if you're in the colors, don't use this for extra power (though, pacifism shuts down rancor, with this you can just equip it to someone else, so, you have to weigh your options). It's insulting that this is lower ranked then Masked of Avacyn. Come on guys, get this up to at least at 3.8/5.

Great with first/double strikers. This makes opening hands much more playable when all your two drops are first strikers and you missed your land drop or the creature itself. 5/2 vigilance first strikers with evasion from vampires, zombies, and werewolves on turn 3 is very powerful. Think of all the non-evasive "bombs" post-rotation standard that have 6 or more toughness. There aren't many. Let me think of a few card this shuts down hmm ... Armada Wurm comes to mind as well as Vorapede also, Tragtusk (though blade splicer did that since the beginning of it's existance but, that's why you populate it's tokens, restoration angel it, cloudshift it for value etc.). Not to mention the amount of 3 and 4 drops this alternate opener ruins. Pretty much, if your opponent opens with this and a first striker, your ground-pounders are useless. At first I had two in my deck. Then I realized the playability, then I put 3 in. Now, my decklist has 4 because Bonds of Faith isn't as good for pumping (you 2 for 1 yourself often early to mid-game but, not as much late game), it's really just removal. This makes for good match-ups against selesnya decks. Seriously, it's much better then 3.75/5 in the right decks. I was at around 3 life and my opponent was around 15. I top-decked a Silverblade Paladin late game in one match and soulbonded it to my Odric, Master Tactician, which wasn't enough for lethal, so I equipped the dagger to it with the left over mana for the game. This pump is very good in the right deck, maybe even a little too good.

4.5/5 in the right decks
3/5 if you just throw it in without thinking

Great on humans but bonesplitter or rancor for anything else.
