Didn't know angels would use this kind of cruel weapon.

The effect is simply too weak to be worth a card slot in my opinion. Still playable in limited, but unplayable everywhere else.

+1/+1 and Vigilance, dropping on the table for 1? In the right deck, this is actually pretty damn sweet. Maybe the equip cost is a bit pricey to run in standard, but in modern I think it could find a place alongside other cheap equipments like O-Naginata. Puresteel Paladin enjoys stuff like this.

Needless to say, you'd need to run it in a Human/Angel deck, but that's why it's so cheap.

So this is a card. Not much more to be said; suffice to say, even in a Human/Angel deck I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a reason to include it.

You guys are overlooking this card's true strength: sweet art. Seriously, I would love to have a set of those.

The art's incredible. Unfortunately that doesn't make the card not clunky.

The thing I'm taking issue with is the 2 equip cost. I mean, angels are already relatively difficult to get out with their higher than average cmcs anyway. An equip cost of 1 would be fair given the effort you already gave to just play the angel. If the cmc and the equip cost were switched, I'd love this card, plus I think that it would be way more playable in an angel/human deck.

Extremely bad card, even for common

people underrate equipment.

Remember, you do NOT have to pay both costs at once. AND, there are other ways to get stuff equipped, if I remember correctly.

granted, this card is quite cheap, but still. if you run a human/angel deck, this could come in handy.

Very underestimated. Its costs are the same as Trusty Machete, but nerfs the added power for vigilance, which is also a very underestimated ability. This looks gorgeous in foil, and I'm making a tribal human deck spiced up with equipment, using these as the base equipment.

Beastly in limited, too.

I remember when an aura/creature enchant for 3 CMC that gave a +1/+1 pump and vigilance (we'll assume we're running a human/angel deck with this) wouldn't be called crap like it is here today. And then the enchants die when your creature does, and can't be moved around unless you had something like Crown of the Ages. Are we really that spoiled now?

Innistrad block gave all the human creatures from previous sets a relevant type, and this is one example if not a prominent one.

Comparison to the ridiculously similar Avacyn's Collar:
On a Human: 1 toughness versus Doomed Traveler status
On an Angel: 1 toughness - strictly better
On anything else: 1 toughness versus vigilance
Of course, without Humans or Angels, this is worse than Leonin Scimitar.

Most ppl think its underpowered but it one of the key items in my light blue deck. I'm new to magic but this deck has won 10 games and hasn't lost 1 yet. I love it.

This artifact sucks. You can't pick your nose when you wear one of these.
