goes great in my artifact deck when i use my master transmuter to get a darksteel colossus out on turn 4 or 5 and then play this on it the next turn. swing for a 22/22 indestructible trampler. TAKE THAT ELDRAZI
All those slightly overpriced infect creatures have new purpose, with this on the field. For an immediate investment of 8 mana, you can get yourself a 6/5 hasty infect creature with Blackcleave Goblin. Or maybe you would rather have an 8/8? Turn 4 Hedron Matrix, Turn 5 Scourge Servant, Turn 6, swing with 8/8 infect, and enough mana left over for an Unnatural Predation.
Slow, certainly, but it might be nice for an infect EDH.

@blindthrall Depends on the token. Tokens that are copies of creatures do have a converted manacost.
This card is not that great. The good stuff about equipment is, that it can turn small creatures into huge threats. Equipment that only turns large creatures into even larger threats, while doing barely anything on small creatures, doesn't work well.

I've got a few of these in my white/red deck at the moment... And I really like them. Works really nicely for keeping those important creatures alive, such as Linvala, Keeper of Silence. :D
Honestly though, I would've like to see some sort of combination between this and Eldrazi Con***ion, perhaps with a CMC of about 6 or so...
For example: "Equipped creature gets +X/+X and has Trample, where X is 10 less the cards converted mana cost". Or "Enchanted creature gets...." if it was an Enchantment instead of Equipment.
So equipping Linvala would give her +6/+6 (10 minus 4 CMC) and Trample, while equipping something like Hand of Emrakul (since it's already insanely strong) would only give it +1/+1 and Trample. I think that would make this card a bit more appealing to a wider range of players...

Fully agree it should have been a Tribal Eldrazi Equipment, but also the EQ cost should have been simply landfall, and then this would have been an eye popping card well worth playing.
Brion Stoutarm comes to mind. Just keep dropping 2 & 3 drops and chucking for 5-7 each hit. The 4 EQ cost gets in the way though.
Otherwise you use other spells/abilities that use a creatures power/toughness as its X or output. Typically a life gain spell.
Doesn't seem worth it. Junk Rare/Gimmick Deck status. Something you put in an EDH/Commander deck for giggles.

I can't help but feel that there was a missed moment of awesome with the Hedrons. They should have been anti-Eldrazi weapons, not Eldrazi tools. So lame.
That being said, pretty well designed card. Very effective, but fair.

@Vedalken_Arbiter: Also, even if Wizards were willing to reprint Tribal artifacts, they all have a clause for free equipping whenever something of its type ETB. You really don't need to get this stuck onto your Eldrazi for free too, do you?

Scornful Egotist even curves into this: Turn 3 morph, turn 4 matrix, turn 5 equip matrix and still have {U} to unmorph it. Even better if it's your only creature since it looks like you equipped it for want of a better option then SUDDENLY 9/9
