And here's your Legacy card of the set. Death and Taxes will be pleased.

It is a good thing I am making a graveyard deck that uses Commune with the Gods and Grisly Salvage. Reveal does not mean draw ........ I can safely ignore this little girl unless she is attacking me. At 3/1 for two that is a possibility but I hope I have something nasty pulled from the graveyard flying over her by turn three. If it is an Ash Rider it can just exile her as it flies overhead.

This card is a thing. But, as a member of the Le Reddit army I think this card is a meh over all. we can't judge this card yet because we need to see what the pros tell us what to think first. but i can see this card becoming a meme on the popular le reddit mtg board lol xD!

This card shuts down so many combo decks in Legacy, only excluding Belcher and Dredge. I've got the feeling that Wizards threw this into the set and pushed Brimaz to sell packs, but you can't deny this card's power. 4/5

This is one of my favorite cards in the set. I've always loved the various hate-bears (or things that were basically hate-bears) and everything about this one is so perfect. The color, the art, the wording of the ability, the Power and Toughness: Flawless. The only card in the set that I rate a full 5/5.
Also I dearly hope no one ever plays it against my Oloro EDH deck...
Edit: I lied. I also gave Kiora's Follower a 5/5.

It's good that this has 1 toughness, like Bob, so that if drawing only one card a turn becomes a problem, have it block anything (and kill a fair bit with that nasty 3 power) and you may draw all the cards you like.
Also, I'd like to point out that Bob, Pain Seer, and Stoneforge Mystic put cards into your hand, but they don't draw them. *ALLTHESYNERGIES*
@sweetgab Notion Thief plus this wouldn't work because you would skip the draw as well. Nobody would draw anything from Whispering Madness either, so you'd have to get quite the board presence before you combo off.

You know what also isn't fun? Sitting around while some player draws a million cards and spends a half hour manipulating their library and hand.
In addition, being a creature enchantment w/1 toughness means that every color has multiple answers to it.

Unique abilities are fantastic. More so one cheap spells.
I'd complain about the fact that it's a 3/1 versus a 1/3, but I'm clearly Limited and EDH-biased. Legacy-wise, attacking with Porcelain Legionnaire-level power on something that can ruin someone's game is just marvellous.

.5/5 for being a unfun card. Is this a good card? Oh yes, this card is great! That is some serious control. It's just one of those things though that work in the worse way possible.
If you guys recall Hokori, Dust Drinker, they both grind the game down to a screeching halt and drag a game on way longer then it should, and this only get's worse in multiplayer or EDH. You'll quickly find that no one wants to wait so long and that they will surely stop playing with you until you switch to a more amusing deck.
Edit: 1/31/2014
@ Taudisban
I will give you that, it is kind enough to be easily dealt with, and I also do agree. Nothing is quite worse then "excuse me as I reorganize my deck and sac the same artifacts 20 times". Well, sometimes my Simic deck get's pretty insane. Oh, this get's a counter, and this get's a counter, and this get counter...and then proliferate again, this get's a counter, and this get's a counter...
Fine, I'll rate this 3/5. It's nice enough to have any color quickly deal with it.

Up there with Derevi, Dusk Drinker, and Stoic Angel with white cards many EDH players groan upon seeing hit the table. Not a fun card, but an effective one.

Staff of Nin sees your "No more card draw" effect and raises you by one damage.
Can someone tell me if the ability stops domri's first (+1) ability. As i can understand you can use the +1 to see the card on the top of your deck, but can you take it into your hand if it is a creature card? is tha considered a draw or not??

oldtimer96
★★★★★ (5.0/5.0)(2 votes)
If the Oracle text for an action doesn't use the word "draw", it is not card drawing, and specifically, "put into your hand" is the standard Magic way of saying "this does not count as drawing a card". So yes, the abilities of Domri and six-mana Garruk circumvent Sprit's ability.

THIS card is great. I have a Naya aggro deck in Standard right now, and two of these are going RIGHT into the sideboard to replace two Fleecemane Lions against ANY control-y deck playing Sphinx's Revelation or other excessive card-draw!! This is PERFECT card design IMO. If it had protection, or evasion, or bouncing... it would have just been TOO good. As it is, this is great. And against the decks that it's going to usually be up against, the three damage makes this just as good of an aggro 2-drop as the Lion. GREAT card in SO many decks. Expect to see this in MANY sideboards playing white -- if not maindecked.
Edit: Yeah I meant Spirit combos with Madness, and Notion Thief also combos with Madness, the latter in a much better way. Spirit doesn't combo with Thief, but it's good to have redundancy for your combos.

SO good in Gaddock Teeg edh. The prison has a new guard.
Even though I'm not familiar with very competitive scenes such as Legacy or what not. I've figured that they've designed this for high competitive play, since that she's quite aggressively costed, has a nice body (hah, see what I did there?) for said cost and the card-draw restriction.

I would prefer Thalia, myself. Has a definite spot in D&T, but in the environments it's most effective in, you also get the most ease of making it not a problem.
I'm not being a DIES TO REMOVAL 0/5 idiot here, I hope, but what I mean is that considering the environments such an effect is going to have most impact for, it's not a format-shaking silver bullet like some seem to think. Thalia at least taxes their efforts to get rid of her, and First Strike goes a long way. This is a very controlling, even prison-y card, and that kind of fragility is exactly what decks that control/prison archetypes hit can deal with most easily.
What I'd want it for? Stax. You're already throttling their ability to do anything at all, choking their ability to possibly draw a solution (given the abundance of 1 mana draw spells, which means any land of theirs that slips out of your control can be annoying) may be worth considering. Plus, the 3/1 body is very effective against opponents with nonexistent blockers, obviously, something Stax can set up.
I'm unsure of what to rate it, really.

It made me think for a second, so I'll clarify a "ruling" here for you all: If you shoot this ghost gal with Nin, the Pain Artist, if you do it on the turn of the player who controls this thing (so that they've already drawn their card for the turn), the cards they'd draw are still prevented.
Really, state-based actions aren't THAT complex and this probably is pretty clear to just about anybody who cares about Nin, but it's still a clarification somebody might be able to use. I care because I play Nin EDH, and decided that this actually isn't a hoser at all, delightfully!

I picked up a playset of these, because I feel like the price they are at now is a bargain compared to where they will be in a year or 2. From now on, anytime there is a 1+1color rare creature that does something, it's probably worth picking them up.
Oxman

Use it with Teferi's Puzzle Box. No body gets to draw at all, and people can only cast instants and cards with flash. Plus everyone's hand is zero for the rest of the game. You could add Psychic Possession Then you get a hand. Plus adding blue gives you bounce which is now tuck.
