Plays well on its own and plays well with its master. Very nice design.

Combos with itself. Forces attacks to clear the way for your creatures to grab you some cards and if you are behind on board it can still force attacks that you can block profitably for incremental advantage.

I believe the weapons are there to complement the masters.
It's alright, but the activated ability is a little weird. I don't mind it though, it seems neat.

It's mostly a multiplayer card. You can force one person to attack another, if you got a more threatening defense. And you can find more easily a person that is open to an attack, to make use of the card draw. I guess it's best in Commander. I don't think it's powerful enough for Standard.

I'm surprised to see it rated so low.
Drawing a card with every swing?
The activated ability is very powerful in midrange creature strategies - it is essentially repeatable, targeted removal.
The passive card draw is also an amazing source of card advantage in a creature-based deck.
When you see this card, think Simic.

This is such an alluring card. The promises of forcing the attack to eat some of your opponent's guys and then cracking back for multidraw is just too much value to resist.

MAN, just imagine someone coming back to play Magic in Born of the Gods, after the last time they played was Invasion o.O
Keep in mind: Multicolor was featured in a number of blocks before Apocalypse, but not very good, and the best multicolored cards were simple bears with weird creature typelines. "Enemy" colors still interacted pretty badly with each other, as opposed to, you know, being like Peanut Butter and Chocolate together the way they are today x)
Then they look at the Born of the Gods spoiler and see, like,
Holy Hand Grenade of Athreos -- {2}{W}{B} Legendary Enchantment Artifact Creatures you control have indestructible Creatures you control have deathtouch Whenever a card goes to the graveyard from anywhere, exile it instead.
Or something stupid like that..
And they'll be like WHAT IN THE HELL?! O.o ENCHANTMENT ARTIFACTS? BLACK-WHITE? friggin GODS??!! WHAT IS THIS DEVILRY?

@ Fenix, there's another reason why this isn't strictly better than Coastal Piracy...
Bident also dies to Artifact removal (Creeping Corrosion, Manic Vandel, etc.) while Coastal Piracy survives the onslaught.

...for a second I thought that said Bidet of Thassa.
Currently my only form of draw in my Nylea devotion deck is Bred for the Hunt, I'm tempted of turning it more into Simic. I'm thinking of taking out my Corpsejack Menace, and in turn black entierly, out of my deck, and simply make it a Green and Blue instead. Sure, Corpsejack is nice and all, especially with Evolve and +1/+1 counters in general being the center focus of the deck, but I'd rather be able to draw more consistantly, then IF I have +1/+1 counters on my creatures and IF their attacks connect.
And it could force them to attack into a wall of deathtouch creatures... And easily end the game.... Love it...
Before we know it they'll be giving us a fishing boat in Born of the Gods. I think WOTC wants us all to become fishermen.

Kind of a nonbo with Thassa, herself. Why make them attack if you can hit them unblockable?
Actually, it's really good with Spear of Heliod. Bufffs your blockers, then anyone who you allow to gets through you can blow up.
In fact, I'd say this combos really well with Heliod, himself. Vigilance means you can hit them while their creatures are tapped and still block them when you make them attack next turn, and tokens means either chump blockers or more creatures to draw cards with.
Her bident puts me in mind of the new flavortext on Griptde. "When the sea god Thassa wishes to speak with a mortal, she does not issue a summons or grant a vision requesting a visit. The sea simply brings her guest before her." The Bident making enemy creature's attack feels like that to me. Thassa rules the tide, and in magic that tide is the tide of battle. She does not fully control it, the tide moves in and out, she only makes it stronger, a griptide, to pull those who have earned her displeasure before her.
The tide going out - rushing at the sea displeases her, but it is necessary, so that the tide may rush up again upon the shore. this inrush is her pleasure, and in pleasure the goddess of the mind finds treasures on the shore, ideas new to her. At the other's expense thassa's bounty is born.
There were no formal matches between the gods, there were rumors that Porphoros desired Nylea and made things for her, but we no no more than that. Just in flavor I see a romance blooming between Heliod, god of the sun, and Thasa, god of the sea. Vigilance, the ability to make creatures attack and then destroy them. It seems like Wizards are secretly saying there is love here - but then that could just be a blue white player's fancy. ^^
In any case. Well done Wizards!

Yeah! And why make them unblockable if they''re just going to let you draw a card every time they damage your opponent?
Oh wait, I think I found the synergy...

Does Bident of Thassa stack with Warriors' Lesson? Effectively doubling my card draw?

This legendary weapon is odd, in that it's more independent than the others. It does compliment Thassa's unblockable ability, but the bident can handle itself as far as making card-drawing-contact is concerned, and her scry just doesn't relate. It would make more sense if the scry occured before combat, but after the initial card draw.
The good thing about this card is that you can run it in an aggressive creature based deck and have it be at the top of your curve! That way you can refuel your hand and finish the game....the downside however is that you'd HAVE to attack/deal damage which either means your winning, your attacking into an empty board or you have a gauntlet of fliers and unblockable creatures with good effects.
That said I prefer Jace over this. That way you have the option to block and not attack and you get to search 3 cards deep off the bat with his -2 ability.

Man, that activated ability would be so sweet in a sphere of safety deck. Why yes, I would like you to tap out just to attack me with one creature, thanks
This card could be hilarious with Lightmine Field. Force all of their creatures to attack just to watch them all blow themselves up LMAO
