Ridiculous synergy with the cycle of Ordeals.

By Heliod's spear, this looks amazing! Giant growth becomes permeant, auras get crazy... at uncommon? I feel like there's something I'm missing about Heroic...

Flavor text is totally badass.

One of the best heroic cards, just a bit weak before you trigger heroic.

Also, this is one of the most Klingon cards in Magic history!

If you want this than you'll have to be quite committed to heroic enables, but if you are you'll be quite happy.

About three mana more expensive than Nivix Cyclops, and in a worse color for the kinds of spells you'd want to be using, too.

Still, one swing is all it takes. Or all it should take, anyway.

Stolen Identity. Make a 6/6. Get a new 3/3. Attack. Make a 6/6 (or 9/9). Get a new 3/3. Attack.

This thing gets really big, really fast in a slow Limited format. For example, in match 2 of 3, I died to a 25/25 intimidating, trampling, deathtouching Centaur Battlemaster. It was then that I realized just how unfair putting trample and deathtouch together really is.

Bioshift anyone? Trigger Heroic twice, and give that Fabled Hero FOUR +1/+1 counters?

Slap Mark of Fury on this guy each turn. Throw in Rancor for good measure!

The three power and toughness add up to six. The two green mana shine pretty clearly, and even though there isn't any white mana, you could pay the three colorless with white. Maybe colorless mana looks white sometimes.

If you get all four out, you can hit each one with a counter from Blessings of Nature!

This is probably one of the best Rancor targets ever. I mean, 8/6 with trample for 6 isn't as great as some things green's been getting lately, but it's still pretty awesome (especially since you can just target it some more too).

EDIT:

Whip Silk. Loop it as many times as you can for Heroic triggers.

This + Give // Take (Give) + Primeval Bounty = 12/12

o. O

Or pretty much ANYTHING else.........

Let's not forget that putting both Alpha Authority and Madcap Skills on this guy makes him an unblockable 12/9 with hexproof. Also, this card really maximizes the potential of Flesh // Blood. If one can manage to successfully land the aforementioned enchantments, Blood would deal 15 damage directly for only two mana (as if that would even be necessary by that point).

Other cards that make this guy stupid good include: Armed // Dangerous, Enlarge, Unflinching Courage, and Ethereal Armor.

I feel like this is really the only green heroic card worth running. The only thing holding it back is its expense, but if you have enough mana to pay for it, you usually have enough mana next turn to cast two spells on it, so it's pretty effective as a mid-high range bomb. Also, if you bust out giants growth on this guy once for a combat trick against your opponent, you can use untapped mana to bluff and make him scared for the rest of your matched. He will never know when you are gonna turn that beast into a 9/9 or more.

A lot of people are talking about the combos on this and I guess I'll share mine. I personally like Bless and Ordeal of Heliod. First makes him 6/6 and very pumpable while second gives 4 +1/+1 counters and 10 life the first time he attacks. Of course having some Kalonian Hydras in your deck can help him get strong real fast too.

I'm surprised no-one here has mentioned pit fight yet.

I run this guy in a WG heroic centric deck and it's great. The ordeals are really fun on this guy yes, but my 2 favorite cards to put on this are Gift of Orzhova (flyinng+lifelink ftw) and Murder Investigation (Sure he's really big, but if you kill him, I'm going to swarm you to death).

The Murder Investigation choice is especially fun because I also run Phalanx Leader, and his heroic just gets better and better the more creatures you get.

4/5. A threat that needs to be answered. Letting this through in what is supposed to be a slower limited environment with access to instant speed pumps is asking to quickly end a game.

You're all wrong. Best combo is this card, a Sunbond, an Unflinching Courage, and a Predator's Rapport. That combo turns him into a 42/42 trample/lifelink that self-buffs the more he hits/is hit.

Add a Pheres-Band Warchief for an extra +1/+1 and vigilance and start wrecking stuff.
