Usable Green fight card with a bonus, I suppose. I wish it was an instant.

I don't care if it's overcosted. That flavor. That..."flavor". So glad this card got made.

Your creature kills and eats it, you gain life? Or do you come in later and feed on the carcass?

"Choose target creature" not target. This thing will let you fight a Geist of Saint Traft....

Well, it's ok in limited like 99% of all removal. Apart from that, it pretty much sucks, especially compared to other "fight target creature" cards.

As Fenix said, the flavor seems wrong. If your creature manages to kill the other, it can feed upon it. How come you get the life then, instead of the creature getting +1/+1 counters or something?

Sacrifice a creature named Evelynn you control. Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature an opponent controls.

My respect for this card! It totally saved my bacon at the very last game of the last match of the release tourrnament.
I play Chronicler of Heroes, draw a card... And it is Time to Feed!!! Time for my Hoplite to feed on his Prophet! :) The Hoplite gets another +1/+1 through heroic, deals 4 damage (7 life), receives none in return, the Prophet dies (10 life), then I attack with the Hoplite (14 life!).
Next turn, my opponent draws no answer and I overrun him with everything.
Game won, match won, and I ended up being 4th and getting a Heliod, God of the Sun in one of my prize boosters. :)

I love how confident this card is. "WHEN that creature dies this turn..."

I like the idea of Groundbreaker followed by this in the post-combat main phase. People tend to just let cards like that (or Ball Lightning) through anyway.

@TheArchive: You see how it says "choose target creature"? Yeah. There's the word "target" in there. It still targets.

A weak fight spell in the right set for it to be incredible. Still cheaper than most of the other removal too. Yes it's a bad card, don't get me wrong. But the artwork is beautiful and flavourful, the name is incredibly fun to declare and, well, heroic man.
Some cards just win the jackpot and this one is certainly a winner.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is the only representation of a basilisk from the Theros block, which is really odd. They didn't even include a creature, just an art of something that most people didn't know was a basilisk.

I had a decent board position, but my opponent was beating down on my with a Prophet of Kruphix and an Anthousa, Setessan Hero. I had just 3 life left.
My main beater is a Favored Hoplite, with a +1/+1 counter, enchanted with a Hopeful Eidolon (would have been long since dead if it were not for the lifelink) and equipped with Fleetfeather Sandals.
