This can quickly get ridiculous with something like Titan's Strength.

Probably weaker than both Mirran Crusader or Silverblade Paladin, but with all the aura shenanigans in this set, it's still a powerful, powerful card. If mono-white needed another beater, let's not forget that Glorious Anthem has essentially been reprinted (as a legendary enchantment artifact, but still), so this dude could see some pretty sweet action.

That flavor text is atrocious. If I were his poet, I'd probably steal his stuff while he deals with those harpies.

A haiku:
A harpy dying, On its lips lay but three words: 'Dies to removal.'
With those swords-on-a-chain of his, he reminds me of Kratos, from the God of War series. But if he was inspired be him, he should also be Red and/or Black. At least they got the part where he's an arrogant prick right.

Is it just me or is his right thigh way too long? Just looks really odd and every time I look at the art it bugs me D:
Anyway, cool idea for a card - a very simple variation of the 1WW doublestrike creatures.

This card is a lot A LOT better than you realize; I went to the release and essentially the only kill spell we were given access to was Divine Verdict which has been changed to target attacking or blocking creature. It killed! Combine it with Celestial Archon, and an Observant Alsiad and it for all functional purposes becomes a flying-death-machine with flying, vigilance, first strike, double strike and so big I don't even care to do the math. Splash some blue counter spells and you can't touch this.
But anyway, I had a question, some of the Theros enchantments don't say enchant target creature they just say enchant creature. Does that still count for the ability since the targeting is implied- or did they make it so that somehow you can avoid the targeting part?

The flavour text is hilarious, and very fitting to how a player will use him.
Whether it's blocking a massive beast, or pumping him for an overkill, poets should be taking notes.

He tried to be a hero we'd know, whose fame would endlessly grow. But in one matter he wound up a splatter as he was foolishly fighting Storm Crow.
Very cool that this Heroic ability gets around spells being Countered because it says whenever you cast not whenever it resolves. For the late game use with Possibility Storm and a bunch of spells that can target your Heroic creature... that way you can cast two buffs! Of course I just really want to make Possibility Storm work. This will be a good replacement for Silverblade Paladin in some decks.

There was once a man, of noble esteem, Who dual wielded whips with a sparkling gleam, But unto me he did say with a frown, "Poet, you need to be writing this down."
I took up my pen in my right and I wrote; I detailed his efforts as harpies he smote. The reward for his efforts, and yes they were hard, Would be to be featured as one Magic card.
Whence Theros came round and he purchased a pack, I felt blasts of pain as I heard a loud crack. "Epics and songs I did such expect, but you sir killed dreams that made me erect. This card has no use! It does not please me! I'd be much more broken if you could just see!"
"Well," I replied, summoning crass, "Maybe you shouldn't have been such an ass." And the hero did smite me, now I'm on the floor, Weeping and going to poet no more.

Pretty sure I got this passed second pick in the first booster in my last draft. Remembering the horrible things it did to me on the FNM before that, I obviously picked it up and made a W/G Heroic deck. Being the mature people we are, I and a friend instantly named it the Hero of Butthole Rape. A name which I'd call out to him whenever the Hero won me another match that night.
At the end, I was up to five calls or something, with another match being tied at 1 life for my opponent thanks to my own stupidity.
Double Strike is just so easy to underestimate. In Limited, either this thing gets Lava Jet'd literally the instant it hits the field (or rather in response to your buffs) or you win. My turn, swing with this dude, get him unblocked since he's only a 2/2, flash in Feral Invocation, suddenly my opponent is left wondering where his life went so wrong.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough of him, else I'd totally make a W/G Heroic deck utilising this guy, tons of buffs, Nylea, and her bow. Plus probably some Hopeful Eidolons. 7/7 Double Strike Lifelink Deathtouch Trampler coming your way! Yes, I am a horrible person.
Might need more work in constructed due to more removal, but then again, you'll have a playset of Gods Willing to back him up. Also won a game that way. Portent of Betrayal? Gods Willing says no, but thanks for the counter. Unfortunately, the hero is mad and it looks like he's going to do horrible things to you for even trying that.
i'm pretty sure this is a quote from a terry pratchet book "the last hero"

4.5/5 Don't underestimate this card. Someone placed Gift of Orzhova on this, then two Ordeal of Heliod's on this. Swung for a 10/10 flying, lifelink, double striker for the win. Gained 40 life in one turn at the cost of 20 damage to me. Many other crazy combos out there as well.

I'm a little disappointed that this is .5 under Mirran Crusader. In exchange for protection, you get even more power from buffs, which isn't bad, especially considering God's Willing. My Boros heroic deck runs four of these, and wins turn 4 quite frequently with Fabled Hero plus two pumps (Madcap, Martial Glory, Titan's Strength, God's Willing and Ordeal of Puphoros all work nicely)

T4 enchant it with 2 Ordeals of Heliod, swing for 12, gain 20 life.
This can quickly get ridiculous with something like Titan's Strength.
"Yes you!"

A harpy dying,
On its lips lay but three words:
'Dies to removal.'
T2: Plains, Fabled Hero
T3: Land, Giant Growth, Giant Growth. 10/10 Double Strike
