Way overhyped, although it is versatile and will see a lot of constructed play

I like how this is hate rated as a 3 right now.

This reminds me of Vorapede in that they added as many abilities as possible on one card as a blatant attempt at making it worthy of mythic rare. I will stick to my Comet Storms while I play red thank you very much.

Versatile but not "I win" kind of mythic. That's lovely :)

An excellent card that will strongly effect standard but isn't enough to see play in Modern or Legacy. Certainly good, and will continue to see play in EDH long after it rotates. 5/5.

It's no Bonfire of the Damned, but this card is likely going to define the new Standard.

Strangely enough preordering for 30 dollars. I can't imagine it staying above 8 for very long.
Card is solid. Rolling Thunder is solid... in pauper. This is not pauper legal, so we'll see if it can get anywhere without cloudpost help.

Just what aggro needs - kills chumps, taps blockers for an alpha strike and delays wraths by a turn. It's powerful enough that you could play it at 3 mana (likely hitting the player during upkeep), and it only gets better from there.

Control could also use this as a delaying tool and for killing weenies, though Bonfire of the Damned and Supreme Verdict just seem better in that regard.

How is this not ranked higher?

It is one of the best burn spells ever printed. It is super-flexible, and it'll win so many games. It will be used in control decks, aggressive decks, mid-range decks. The only deck I don't see this working in is a Boros Sligh deck or a deck that doesn't have access to Red and White... but that's basically it.

I just think it's amazing that you can either time walk your opponent, get an X-for-1 or finishing off your opponent with the same card. This is clearly a winner. 5/5

OH MY GOD IT'S BOROS SUN'S ZENITH

no wait...

It's like fireball, silence and powersink had some sort of crazy orgy and then this was born. I hope I can pull this!

Instant X damage that could finish an opponent off, kill/control creatures, and/or prevent spells from being cast. An extremely powerful politic card in 1v1 or multiplayer, nicely designed.

Damage yourself if you have a non creature spell that you want to save so that you don't accidently cast it.

It's amazing to me how many deck types would love a card like this, it's a 3 mana silence for combo (not that combo's good in standard currently) it slows down aggro for control decks, it lets you kill any blockers in aggro or just tap them and point those last few points of damage at the player's dome, (think about it, if they flash in a Resto angel after declare attackers you can tap it down before they can declare blockers), it can kill most planeswalkers if their controller decides to use their - ability right away, maybe I'm wrong but this much versatility seems like it's got a pretty good chance of shaping standard for quite a while

I -really- like this card. Probably the most fun {R}{W} spells ever printed. While the {R}{W} keyword mechanic was a bit lackluster, this and Aurelia herself make up for it.

because clearly adding white to fireball should give it instant speed, silence effect, and free splitting.

Fury is a fine card and will se constructed play but right now, at the time of prelease, is overhyped. It's definitely not the top mythic of the set.

"Let's see, I'll burn that creature for 2 and that one for 3, killing both, and then I'll burn that last one for 1 to tap it, and I'll also burn you for 1, so you can't cast any non-creature spells this turn!"

"In response, I'll burn you for 7. Good game."

Basically a much more versatile, albeit more expensive, Orim's Chant for the most part, save that "noncreature" bit. An acceptable mythic, imo, at least it's not as retarded as Baneslayer, 4.5/5

This card isn't made for burning like comet storm or bonefire of the damned and clean the board.

It's to remove as many blocker of the way, prevent any trick from the defending player and toss all the remaining mana on the player for the final attack.

If you want to hit hard, the X will need to be big, and it's not the point of the card.

It's all about tapping and the silence, the red part is only a bit more versatily against plainwalker or a must kill creature.

It fit a weenie deck for when the weenie need a little help to bash the opponent.

The jury's still out on this one. I think most people agree that it's good... but how good is still questionable. To those wondering, this card will almost always have some utility to the current board state. Fireball was a great card for it's time and this is more useful and instant speed. It will probably settle around $15 mythic.

It sort of resembles Intimidation Bolt but has more versatility. Both are Boros cards that, funnily enough, are good at disrupting Batallion.

Not sure why, cause every aspect of the card is bomb, but the silencing totally makes this card. A rare effect, and anything that can delay a verdict or terminus another turn is rightly crucial to aggressive strategies in std.

4.5/5, only because I like clan defiance better haha

What makes this card so absurdly powerful is that it goes in aggro and control decks and it does so many different things for you. No doubt a 5/5

Anyone notice that the artwork on this and killing wave are almost exactly the same but the subjects casting the spell and being vaporized are opposites?

Ok, i just pulled this card and after reading it I was pumped to see how much it ws worth, and I was disappointed. I asked a guy at my local card shop why this card isnt that good,a nd he said basically no deck uses it. I feel like it can do well in some decks in standard. Idk, i mean im new to mtg, but can someone explain to me why this card isnt really really good?
Lifegainwithbite

The hype for this card when it came out was insane but it sees basically no play. Maybe when Bonfire of the Damned (which is much more powerful against most decks) rotates out, it'll see more play.
Nagoragama

You can tap all their blockers for an alpha strike and prevent them from engaging in combat shenanigans, you can just burn off a creature, or you can just straight up use it as a Devil's Play to kill them if you have enough mana.

Opponent: "I reveal Terminus and cast it for its miracle c--"

1WhiteRed: "Oh no you don't."

Isn't it weird that angel Aurelia's signature spell is the only reliable way in Standard to stop angel spells from getting cast for their angel cost? :)

...it's also weird that Wizards has been so crude about their countermeasures lately -- Frontline Medic, Ash Zealot, Angel of Jubilation, etc. White/Red have gotten dumped on with poorly tacked-on countermeasure abilities lately, but Aurelia's Fury feels awesome, natural, and cohesive! Huge improvement.

Kills mana dorks, opens up opponent to an attack by tapping stuff you need out of the way, and silences all the while. What's not to like?

I will never forgive this block for how over the top and embarrassingly in love Wizards' was with Boros. Boros players will probably say something like, "Well it'd be alright if it untapped all lands after you play it."
Vicarus
★★★★★ (5.0/5.0) (1 vote)
@FogRaider

Sadly not, although I was excited by the idea too. Via the Gatecrash FAQ: "Each chosen target must receive at least 1 damage." So this could hit Heroic triggers, but they'd have to take the damage and be tapped.

Potentially interesting in a Heroic deck, where you can target all of your heroic guys for 0 while also fireballing and/or faltering.

I think that this card is a rather tricky one to analyze well.

It is probably even better than it seems, and I feel that it is underrated at 4.056 (currently).

Think of it in terms of it being an instant speed Fireball alone and it starts to look fairly decent. Banefire for example is just an amazing card, and trading one extra mana for instant speed is a pretty good deal.

Where this card really starts to shine though is when you factor that 1 extra mana as potentially being a partial Orim's Chant (for non creatures) and the beauty of the card really comes into focus.

Sure they may still cast creature(s) on their turn, but that could actually work to your advantage overall in the right situation. Say if you were planning on dropping Supreme Verdict anyways next turn, now you are getting more efficiency out of it compared to if they had cast a Planeswalker.

I think that this card should be synonymous with the word control, because that's what it provides, along with the raw fury of red.

There is really no denying how cool it is as well.

Since Temple of Triumph is among the first dual lands to come out, and still this card has never seen any play in Standard, I think it's safe to say that this card is far worse than what everyone thought. If they have something like Experiment One into Fleecemane Lion into Loxodon Smiter (or anything similar), at five mana this is just a Doom Blade or a Fog. Worse yet, what if they have a Polukranos, Desecration Demon or an Obzedat instead? The thing is, right now very few people play a bunch of */1s lying around for you to X-for-1 with Aurelia's Fury. Even RDW almost exclusively plays with */2s: Rakdos Cackler, Burning-Tree Emissary, Gore-House Chainwalker, Ash Zealot! Some lists run Firedrinker Satyr and most run Firefist Striker, but that's it.

One way to get around this might be to generate much more mana than usual, say with Nykthos. But if I could get my hands on 10+ mana, I think I'd prefer Sphinx's Revelation even if that means I have to splash blue.

Kids, listen.

It's not Fireball. Rolling Thunder outclassed that card many years ago. This white mythic you see before you now is its granddaughter.

I know, I know, that was before your time.
