Not as bad as she seems @ first glance. If you are running a token generator u have a very powerful tool to demolish their side of the board.

@snaxme: yes. Please explain how exactly you plan on using the Mastermind, because unless you know something I don't, your plan doesn't work. You can't bounce something being sacrificed by Braids. You'd just have to sac something else.
You bounce Braids at the end of your oponent's turn, silly. A little mana costy, but it works
EDIT numero dos: @Omenchild Come on, it's not THAT bad.
And it's banned in EDH because it just sucked the fun right out of any match it was is. I saw some pretty messed up decks that kept the board consistently clean, save for Braids herself. No one likes to start sac-ing everything by turn 4.

Puppet Conjurer. Just make sure to stack the abilities so that you sack the Homunculus to Braids rather than the puppeteer.

From what I understand, she's only banned as an EDH general. You can have her in an EDH deck as a regular addition. As a general, there's really no permanent way to get rid of her, so her ability is almost always present and drags the game down. People take forever figuring out what they sacrifice and since no one can keep anything on the board no one has any fun. ('Cept maybe the person playing her). But, as a regular addition to an EDH deck she's just going to pull out some removal.

A boss in multi-player, but be prepared to take ALL the hate if she resolves.
It was far too easy to rush out an early Braids, along with a recurring permanent or resource, using all the fast mana available to black. EDH decks are generally focused on playing the long game, with higher CMC spells than you'd see in other formats. They just weren't equipped to deal with breaking a lock in the first few turns. Plus, EDH is a casual format, where players tend to frown upon such styles of play (at least the players who aren't sociopaths).

Useful with Gibbering Descent if you are playing with an empty hand.
I don't know why in all the flavor texts of other cards of the set she appears as Braids, dementia summoner or master, but here she's called cabal minion ... Though Eric did a good jobs, come on, look at her, she really looks demented.

I am doing a harry potter deck replacing each card with an alternate art, when I thought wich card could bellatrix be, her wicked face appered.

The blue one was from Planar Chaos. That set had a theme of alternate realities. In one of those realities, she did not become a minion of the Cabal.
@Teotanek
Because she is a minion of the Cabal, and minions of the Cabal are often also dementia summoners. Like Chainer, Dementia Master

use her with Savra, Queen of the Golgari and sacrafice a black creature. Then your opponents are sacraficing creatures on your turn as well.

As stated before, she is banned in EDH as a general because she starts cleaning the board too early; permanently with the right support.

possible awesomeness: give control of it to your opponent, then drop Sigarda, Host of Herons you don't sacrifice, and your opponent is stuck with it. I have no idea if that would work, and it would also require at least 3 colors. so probably impractical. But imagine the fun.

Its the singer from Four Non-Blondes from the What's Up video!!!
Or at least the top comments haven't. Kinda crazy. I really want to try her as my commander while I have a mono-black deck. Same for Kokusho. I guarantee house rules would have her unbanned as a commander for me to test. She just seems so... fun. But yeah, in multiplayer, if you so much as even drop her after a certain point, you won't survive the turn. They will kill you.
I like the thought of using Heartless Summoning, Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, and this in some kind of black or black/white attrition control build. Maybe throw in some Chittering Rats-type hand disruption. Definitely casual, but probably fun.

The flavour text reminds me of Cheers, except it's in some sort of Cabal/Black-based dungeon with a shifty bartender, the Waterfront Bouncer, and a Tavern Swindler to complete the picture... Maybe the chef's Abattoir Ghoul (or not, whatever floats your mana).
I can see Braids, using her timeshifted persona (because that what happens, please quiet down) to woo unsuspecting men to her, and then kill them with... you know, whatever she kills people with.
Also, Braids was wearing goggles before Chandra decided it was cool.

God I love this card. It's just the right amount of pain for a black card, and just the right amount of abusable. I played several games with a deck that has her yesterday, and was able to get her out turn 3, and then lock my opponent out with Dakmor Salvage in two games of the 3. Although one of those games was against a counter/burn, and they managed to get a mountain down and bolt her :( , resulting in me losing eventually.

When I first saw her on blackmail I thought her twisted face was due to the hit or miss nature of so many old mtg artworks. After seeing her on multiple cards I was delighted to see that she is always has that crazed look on her face.
This is no fun playing against. A guy at my table fields this with Mikaeus, and a creature that puts -1/-1 counters on nonblacks, and another that gains controls of creatures dying with -1/-1 counters.
Also... I just love the artwork... There are plenty of sinister black creatures, but nobody, I mean NOBODY in black seems to ENJOY being evil as much as Braids here does.
For that reason alone, I will pick Braids, Cabal Minion over Braids, Conjurer Adept any time. Conjurer adept just looks so... sad. Must be from missing out on all that black mana. I guess some people were just born to massacre.

Dark Ritualed Phyrexian Obliterators thrown into that sort of a monoblack deck is just mean. Weak against artifacts but just ruins your opponents setup. Braids is not a team player.
