I like it. Like Beguiler of Wills it encourages a creature focused deck, this time explicitly shouting "play me with tribes!"

The ability to get a free creature each turn is quite nice, and if I get one it will probably end up in my B/U zombie deck to speed things up. It's a pity that you do not have the option to put them into your grave instead, but you can't have everything for such a cheap cost. Overall, quite nice, and will probably see a lot of play in casual.

Also, I may be wrong, but since it says put into play and not cast, any skaabs wouldn't require the creature exiling additional cost. Think about that for a second. Nice.

This is cool. I like how with Innistrad they put in stuff to emphasize tribal without going all-in like Lorwyn. Though it may not have much room in Standard, it will make a very nice addition to a kitchen table Sliver deck

Target creature becomes a super Leaf-Crowned Elder. I like this. My Nest Invader wants to call his older brothers.

I love this card. It feels Llorwtn-esque, but whatever. I SERIOUSLY need to get a couple for my EDH elemental and slivers, and maybe another playset for Allies and a new deck I build just for it.... Time to look for some insane combos...

This on a Changeling of your choice.
Hmm... Probably easier just to ask what couldn't you do with that.

Commander Review: aura's are not that popular for Commander, simply because of the risk of card disadvantage, by having the target killed or bounce or whatever in response to the aura.

I guess if you have a way to stack your library, such as with soothsaying, and if you run 15 or more creatures of the same type in the deck (or you run mistform ultimus as commander), this might be ok. In all other cases, if you want to run an aura that generates creatures, I'd rather take followed footsteps, since that reliable creates creatures each turn.

I guess it's a 1.5/5, simply because it's so narrow in Commander.

Y'know, I've seen Mistform Ultimus EDH decks, and now I want to build one solely for the combo with this card.

It's card advantage, since it's directly from your library. It's mana advantage, since you don't have to pay the creature's casting cost. And it's partial search advantage, since you can go a decent depth into your library. Sure, as with any aura, there's the risk of two-for-one, but if it triggers even once, it's paid you back for that.

hmm, love it i would have played it when i pulled it at pre release but got too many wolves and couldnt splash blue for it. like how it lets you tear through your deck assembling pieces of an automated army. even one time use otta it before it gets removed can be devastating. and if not answered it will come to haunt you. tribal will greatly appreciated this gem!

I'm going let you all into a secret, when you all start playing u/w spirit blade decks , which you wil. put two of these in your side board. Then when you play the mirror , cast this on your Opponents spirits . Now we talking, no worry of being two for one , and makes them rush to kill there own creature while you ....well....win!

This was the first rare I pulled at the prerelease, and was unfortunately the second best rare I got after Manor Gargoyle. I tried to make a werewolf deck with what I got using this to cheat them into play, but just didn't have the punch I needed. C'est la vie.

For those of you wanting to do tribal shenanigans, bear this in mind: Geist of Saint Traft and Drogskol Reaver share a type. Hehe!

A four-mana creature enchant that seems undercosted? Now the only question is what do I take out of my RedBlueGreen ally deck.

@ drpvfx: Well, you mean the best MYR creature. It can't find any creature, just any creature that shares a creature type with the enchanted creature. The real way to use this in Standard is with Zombies, which range from 1/1 to 10/10. So you can drop one - or preferably several - of the cheap zombies before you cast this, and then hope you reveal something huge. Plus this cheats the "exile a card" drawback on a lot of the bigger skaabs.

Not just Mistform Ultimus; any creature with Changeling would be an excellent target for CttK. Even better if you're running colors that have some way to give said Changeling cards Shroud/Hexproof (Crystalline Sliver is my personal favorite for UW at the moment).

@majinara:
That's why you find a way to protect Auras and enchanted creatures. Asceticism, Greater Auramancy, Sterling Grove, Indomitable Archangel if it's an artifact creature or Mycosinth Lattice is on the field...
I'm aware that it's far from a perfect way to do things, but what isn't in this game?

This is one of those cards that just screams to be abused. The cost is fair, and the biggest thing holding it back is that is an aura.

Hmm. Throw it on Invisible Stalker and use it to cheat out Beguiler of Wills and maybe some green werewolves to get around the whole two casting downside?

Make the rest of the deck turbo fog and everything should be gravy. xD

wish it put them in your grave, but still gives you almost immediate creature advantage
a must have 1-of for any blue tribal

Drogskol Captain, any token, (Doomed traveler, Lingering Souls, Midnight Haunting etc) and this - now your enemy would need two removal spells to get rid of your constant creature flow, with a full playset of the Captain its no longer unrealistc to have two down while keeping your mana open for other shenanigans.
The fact that you can dig through five cards means you dont even have to make your deck all that creature heavy while thill having good odds of getting something out every turn.

@Lief098

I think that the spawns' type ("Eldrazi Spawn"), since it's not exactly equal to the Eldrazi type "Eldrazi", won't let you pull that off.

Although I certainly hope I'm wrong, because that would just be utterly overpowered. And we all love OP combos.

EDIT: I WAS WRONG. PRAISE SERRA!

I suspect many a Drogskol Reaver will be cheated in with this card.

Quite usable in a Spirits deck with hexproof critters like Geist of Saint Traft,
and it *could* be used in Zombies, if you were so inclined.
Try Swiftfoot Boots or Lightning Greaves to protect the aura-bearer.
Awesome, deck inspiring stuff... I approve.

Also, @ douche who half-starred literally *every* comment (you seem to be hitting a lot of the DKA pages)?

Want to use this in limited? Here's a tip. Put it on your opponent's creatures.

Chances are he has at least one zombie, spirit, human, or some other tribe you can use. You then reap the rewards every turn he keeps that creature alive - and if he'd rather throw away his creature to deny you the card advantage, you just removed a creature for 3U.

I didn't even figure out that it would work on opponents' creatures until someone used Sudden Disappearance on me, and I had to stck the enchantment on something I didn't control when it came back down.

Mage: "Hey, this is a neat spell. I...I get the feeling I should be somehow building a deck around this card"

Window of Ghosts: "OOOOOOoooooooo"

Mage: "Some sort of...I dunno...tribal deck, maybe?"

Window of Ghosts: "BOOOOOOOOOOO boooogedy booooooooo"

Mage: "What sort of tribe should I use, though? What would go well with this blue enchantment?"

Window of Ghosts: "woooOOOOOooooo OOOOOooooOOOOOoo"

Mage: "Quiet down, spirits! I'm trying to think here!"

Window of Ghosts: "..."

Mage: "I've got it! Crabs!"

Could be a good card in an angel deck when AVR is released, since so many of the angels are expensive to cast.

So, I have a sort of dumb question, sorry in advance for asking it, but what if there is more than one creature card in the top five? All of they get to go onto the battlefield or I have to chose one?

Meh. Eldrazi? Spirits?
Slippery Bogle is what I'm sticking this on. Cheap, hexproof, fishes for Kalonian Behemoth.

I use this in my Jenara, Asura of War EDH deck. I now excuse the high mana costs of Avacyn, Iona, and Reya Dawnbringer, and it helps me go and find things like Linvala, Bruna, and Sigarda. Amazing card.

I've just made a standard deck around this and Invisible Stalker(17 humans 8 Angels). It's doing really well in play testing. Captain of the Watch, Doomed Traveller, Silverblade Paladin some other funky humans and an assortment of angels including Bruna and Glory's Rise. Having two or three on your stalker is truly heaven sent. PS: make him into an angel and play a fat creature every turn.

tossed this in as a one of in my illusion casual deck, in which i use amoeboid changeling to protect my Lord of the Unreal(s) until i can toss something more permanant like Runed Stalactite on him, then to place this enchantment on him or the amoeba he came in on usually makes the game get stupidly fun.. hang on to those negates to stop board wipes and you have the game in the bag.
