Creeping Mold got an upgrade.

Not strictly better than Creeping Mold, since it can't hit artifact creatures, Dryad Arbor, or Lucent Liminid. Planeswalker kill makes it pretty nice, though.

I'm glad to see more answers to planeswalkers in green.

So... after they ban Jace, they print this. Thanks, Wizards.

With this and beast within in standard it seems green is getting some (very limited) removal spells. Probably wizards trying to keep green viable in a format dominated by planeswalkers.

Destroy target planeswalker/sword.

Oddly, the art and flavor text seem way more fitting for a core set than Innistrad. I guess it's nice to have art function later on without getting a new one, but the flavor text changes all the time, so you don't have rip your next idea for yet another Garruk Naturalize quote and put it here.

I also find it odd that, of the two planeswalkers, Garruk is the only one to get a flavor text quote, when Liliana is the only one that has anything to do with the story at all. Garruk's just following Liliana for vengeance and has nothing to do with anything. Which, I'm not sure is a terrible thing; it reminds me of those old serials where the hero would have an arch-nemesis that would follow him around and attack during adventure.

"Civilization is fertilizer"

Watch your words Garruk, you're a legal target for this spell too.
{G} can never have enough removal, even when it is overcosted compared to the removal other colours get (and rightfully so).

Nice card! So ruthlessly efficient, as it should be.

Has anyone thought of Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker's +3? Great effect it also destroyed lands!

In truth, I actually did accidentally drop a copy of Civ 5 down the sewer on the release date. I was ridiculously ***ed off, and had to replace it. And now this flavor text on an amazing sideboard card... screw you, world.

And now planeswalkers everywhere are seriously cheesed off.

Except maybe Garruk. But then, he'd be on your side at this point.

This thing can hit so many different targets. Among the better of them on your opponents side-

Planeswalkers (Garruk, Primal Hunter , Liliana of the Veil , Jace, Memory Adept , etc)
Witchbane Orb
Mimic Vat
Birthing Pod
Prototype Portal
Swords (Sword of Feast and Famine , Sword of War and Peace , etc)
Parallel Lives
Liquimetal Coating

On your side-

Curses (Curse of Death's Hold, Curse of the Pierced Heart, etc)
Enchantments (Oblivion Ring, Call to the Grave, etc)
Solemn Simulacrum
Ichor Wellspring
Elder Cathar

As if that isn't enough, if your opponent still does not have anything worth targeting, you can always target their LANDS too! Bye bye Kessig Wolfrun and Seachrome Coast!

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned this card's ability to destroy emblems.

@ Phatima: Emblems aren't permanents. Currently, there are no cards that can interact with emblems in any way.

Contrary to a lot of people, I'm going to say this is not strictly better than Creeping Mold, just that it's usually better. Why? Creeping Mold can target anything that is an artifact, enchantment, or land, including artifact creatures or man-lands. Bramblecrush can't touch either of those.

Of course, Bramblecrush can hit Plainswalkers, which I'd argue are more likely to be at risk of killing you than any artifact creature or man-land. Most of the time. I did say "usually better".

Bottom line: great card. If you want you can call it an update that accounts for plainswalkers, and with the way the language is written it'll handle any potential future permanent types that WotC throws at us.

Careful, Garruk. You seem to have use for metalworking (parts of your armor, your spearheads), and THAT'S a hallmark of civilization...

Tanaka348: I think it more likely that when the novel comes out, Garruk will get bound up in the Avacyn situation as a result of pursuing Liliana, finding himself in a classic case of Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with Sorin in order to find the best way of breaking the Veil's hold (just asking Liliana nicely probably isn't going to work), which just happens to be part and parcel of restoring a certain predator-prey dynamic on Innistrad to proper health. (Granted that Garruk might have issues on whether the predator in question is the predator that should be there in the first place, as opposed to something like baloths...)

This is basically a Rootgrapple that is slightly less expensive yet can't be Leaf-Crowned and also cannot draw you any cards.

Garruk is so ticked that he is now capable of just pimpslapping any planeswalker that gets in his way.

This should be a Core Set staple. Not necessarily 'put in EVERY Core Set', but 'put in the stock of cards we frequently cycle through for Core Sets so that it has good odds of always being in Standard'.

Because this, my friends, is the ultimate "My Business is With Isengard Tonight!.dec" poster-child card.

Amazing card, miles ahead of mold for nuking walkers. Even if they have 0 non creature perms, and 0 non basics, well you should win anyways...
5/5 for dealing with planeswalkers.

Strictly better than Creeping Mold.

Edit: not strictly because creeping mold can kill creatures that are also enchantments, artifacts, and/or lands. That trade comes at the price of killing planeswalkers.
