At his worst, he's the important half of a Momentous Fall for an extra {G} that doesn't lose you the creature. Even the threat of strong card draw in mono green, if you don't suicide him, can be a strong enough distraction to warrant removal or swinging, getting you a turn to attack with your presumed fatties.
@Gcrudaplaneswalker: The Director? You seriously called him The Director? His name is NICK FURY and he is the single most badass Marvel character without legitimate superpowers EVER.
As for Garruk here:
His +1 is more than just defending himself like some other 'walkers do, the 3/3s can actually be potent offensive threats, especially in limited.
His -3 is almost always going to be Harmonize just based on his +1, but in green it has the potential to be so BIG, which can probably win you the game flat out with green's mana ramp (playing the fistful of cards you just drew)
His -6 made me read it three times just to make sure that Wizards wasn't trolling me. I mean, c'mon, for each land you control? In the color of land fetching? SIX/SIX WURMS? If that doesn't win you the game then either you've been Wrathed and as a green mage you'd lose anyway, or you've done something SERIOUSLY wrong.

M12's theme was 'Gather Your Allies'. The Planeswalkers' stories have established that nearly all the characters are well acquainted as either friends or friends of friends. Ajani is the only 'good guy' that has had close personal dealings with Bolas. (on the scale of white and black, I'm calling Jace gray. He don't count.) This Ajani is a 'Caller' of his Pride. For a while, I thought that Karn might be the next leader/driving force behind any 'New Coalition'. Some people think it's gonna be Jace, because of Return to Ravnica. Here's my view:
Comparing the Planeswalkers to the Avengers, Jace is Nick Fury or Iron Man: well-connected, sends out the invites, a pretty badass douchebag. Or a pretty douchebag ***. One or the other. :P And he's VERY Rich, certainly much richer for his age than anyone has a right to be. Sorin and Bolas are richer...but they weren't trying too hard and they're older than dirt, so it doesn't count as much.
Ajani has GOT to be the Captain America though- the leader of the team, the one giving orders on missions, because he's the only one who's actually a decent enough person that Elspeth, Koth, Jace, Garruk, and Sorin will all be willing to follow. It's very important that Ajani has a bit of a 'wild' past on Naya, otherwise Garruk (the Hulk) would be impossible to negotiate with.
Gideon is actually Hawkeye- Hero for Hire, has a rather specialized and unique set of talents that you can't just substitute The Hulk or Thor in for. He's not 'All Purpose Problem Solver'- but there are some problems only he can solve.
Karn/Urza(?!) is totally, completely, epically THOR all over: "I'm older than all of you, wiser than all of you, I'm way more powerful, I have experience with these foes....and I'm so kind, good, and just that I recognize it's my duty to do everything I can to help your cause. *I* will fight FOR *you*, because I once tried to lead....and that turned out...umm sorry for all this stuff you have to clean up 1000 years later."
Sorin is going to be like Batman's relationship to the Justice League. "I'm here because you need me. I'm not going to follow your orders. I just happen to be doing what you said because it was already on my list. You all need a babysitter. I'm not the leader because none of you think that's a good idea, but you do think it's a good idea to spend my money on your invisible jets and Jacemobiles and Watchtowers and vibranium double-headed axes. Yeah, you're welcome."
Loki is neither Griselbrand, nor Nicol Bolas. Bolas might be Thanos. Griselbrand is the giant awful space slug ship thingy that was supposed to destroy the world and everything it....that the Hulk completely, utterly, trashed/wrecked/demolished. AVACYN SMASH! O:D
Loki, actually, feels like Liliana to me: Maybe there was a time when she was good, or sane, or taken seriously---but we've seen her petty, desperate, spoiled side now, and she's so unbelievably treacherous that if she used to be able to fool you, nobody should trust her now. She's going to get on the wrong side of both the Heroes and the Villains, and then she'll need to hope she's got enough power to take the heat. But she won't have it.
wayfaring temple anyone? looks like I just drew 7 new fresh cards... green white deck with card draw my god...

@ereidiv No, at his worse he is for a 3/3 vanilla creature, that makes a player discard a removal. Your not going to drop him if they have 4 power + evasion, unless your desperate.
But man, his card draw is really powerful. Be careful, if they doom blade your fatty while his -3 is on the stack, you could get 2 for 1.

Do Planeswalkers suffer summoning sickness like creatures do? Someone told me they didn't, but I couldn't find anything to support this.

I find he works best in decks that have Hexproof fatties. I've done crazy thing with him, Drove of Elves, and droves of elves.

No. When a planeswalker enters the battlefield, you can activate one of it's abilities the same turn.

I have this Garruk in my Experiment Kraj EDH, which is built to draw 30+ cards a turn after it gets rolling, then drawing victory from Laboratory Maniac.
I find it ironic that this Garruk out draws the Memory Adept I have in the deck, the Tezzeret the Seeker out mana ramps the only green Planeswalker. (He uses his -X to tutor the artifact lands, Mox Opal, and Sol Ring. He also uses his +1 to untap them when he's all done with that.)
Planeswalkers with self-destruct amuse me. Most of the time I use this as a card-draw sorcery than anything else. If I'm desperate for creatures, I'll use the +1 but most of the time, I'd much rather draw some cards than watch my opponents blow it up before I have a chance to.

Being able to protect himself while simultaneously building counters is great, and refilling your hand later in the game could win the game for you.

Compared to Garruk Wildspeaker, a sort of land ramp/giant growth planeswalker and Garruk Relentless, of which I have no idea where Wizards was going with that, Garruk Primal Hunter is the creature generating planeswalker. And not only that, he gives you creatures with sizable bodies that will help fuel Naya, Gruul, and Selesnya decks. He also draws cards, which is huge for a green planeswalkers. As for complaints, the only one I have was that he was 3GG as opposed to 2GGG. I think that would've made him slightly easier to play without being broken. But having used him, he's one of my favorite planeswalker's of all time.

Skarrg Guildmage to give his Wurm tokens trample / Fervor to give them Haste? Even though he his easier to get out in mono-green. Although there should still be enough access to mana dorks to get him out most of the time.

I would have to say, aside from the angry, firey chick this version of Garruk might be my favorite planeswalker. I use him in Mayael the anima EDH and he's a bomb. One turn of plunking down a token, next turn I'm drawing six or seven cards easy. I was playing today and I dropped him turn 3, turn four I drew seven cards off a Novablast Wurm...
Thank you Garruk. I hope your Caller of Beasts version is just as epic.

Garruk's last ability is awesome if you have a load of lands on the battlefield and the first a Ability is a great way to get creatures out onto the battlefield each turn.
