It's always funny when you're left with 1-2 life in EDH, and commit Seppuku via this.

I want to say I've seen this place in a Disney movie before...maybe it was a Dreamworks one...or maybe it had Nicolas Cage in it. Or Indiana Jones. It's that kind of place, and it's awesome on flavor even before you read the effect. :)

Really? Gonna keep the goofy art? All of the goodies for the other cards, and you're sticking with the cartoon skulls, eh?

If you're playing someone that allows that many Sol Rings, they deserve what they get.
Also this land is crazy mana accel.

Dont let this card ever fool you when your opponent plays it, In a sense you get a mox , really you would only ever tap it to gain your 2 mana and lose your 2 life when your going to play something big that will effect the game state or a particular card that will win you the game etc. Emrakul, The Aeons Torn...(hard casting it)

@Sabisent: That combo wouldn't even be legal in vintage. Sol rings are restricted in vintage. You could only really pull that off in casual and even in casual, you'd get punched by your friends. Plus the chances of drawing that exact hand is miniscule.

You tourney players and your "restricted" lists. With a 60 card deck and four Sol Rings, OCCASIONALLY you may start with two Sol Rings, which isn't ridiculous on its own. However, at least you're going by Vintage standards and not Legacy. Those Legacy guys want anything fun outright banned.
As far as the card, I'd run it with some Personal Sanctuary. I might take 2 damage on my first use, but I'll be damned if I take any damage from this ever again.
@TheWrathofShane I find your lack of Storm Crow disturbing.

How did this card escape everyone's attention all this time? Oh wait, it didn't... some of the Vintage top-8 finalists of the year have featured 4 Ancient Tombs in their decks. That should tell you something about the power of a land that proves 2 mana, repeatably, and doesn't come into play tapped!
If it didn't do any damage to you at all, it would be broken beyond. It would be even more powerful than Mishra's Workshop.
