This is the best card in my soon-to-be-unproxied Eldrazi deck. It digs for what I want whenever I cast it, especially critical early game Eldrazi Temples. And it will stay good when we head back to Mirrodin...

Underrated for sure. It gets you ANY land, Eldrazi or artfiact you want. Really useful, and perhaps one of the most overlooked commons of the set.

Awesome card. Helped me out a lot at the prerelease!

Great even without Eldrazi cards. 1 mana for a limited Land or Artifact search? That's goooooooood.

With each new set, blue is being usurped more and more by the other colors. With the single exception that it can also fetch a land, this definitely feels more like a blue spell, wouldn't everyone agree?

Regardless, this is a very nice card. It prevents you from getting mana screwed to some extent, it can be used to fetch artifacts or Eldrazi, and it thins your deck! I'm just sad that it isn't blue...

Wasn't sure about this card, but I'll jump on board and say I like it as well. I'd have to try it out to see how many slots it warrants if any.

Even if you don't run any colorless cards, this still acts as a cheap land fetcher. 4.5/5

Great ability for Green. Excellent common, I bet stirrings makes an appearance in a lot of decks.

10/1/2009 Lands are colorless (even if their frames have some colored elements to them). You can't target a Swamp, a Mountain, or any other land with Celestial Purge (unless some other effect has turned that land black or red).

In Legacy it'll lose out to crop rotation, but it's still good nonetheless. Get that land or that Jitte a few turns faster.

Nice if your trying to find that one land, artifact, or Elderazi that you need.

I was looking for a card to put into a deck designed, in part, around Liquimetal Coating. The ability to dig 5 cards deep for a single mana really ups the deck's potential as it needs that artifact. Even if Liquimetal Coating isnt in the 5 cards, it still lets me get a land and burn through my deck towards my key card.

I will give this a 5 as it fits in a lot of decks that could use a card in that 1-mana-slot, and is a powerful yet balanced common.

Is this the mystery card that Tom LaPille was referring to for infect?? He said that the card doesn't pump creatures, and I don't think there are any other green cards in the block that could be classed as very useful to an infect deck, especially in a tournament setting.

This could fetch you a Contagion Clasp or Contagion Engine, Corpse Cur, Ichorclaw Myr, Necropede, one of the trigons, Throne of Geth, Vector Asp, as well as any other utility artifacts you are using.

Failing that, it can still fetch you a land.

Very useful card. Should be seen in a lot of decks in different formats. Great in standard for metalcraft and eldrazi decks and in legacy to search for your phyrexian dreadnoughts/sensei's divining top/wasteland etc.

Im using this in my (future) deck with Mycosynth Lattice.
With Mycosynth Lattice in play it becomes " 1: Look at the top 5 cards of your library. You may put 1 card into your hand. Put the remaining cards on the bottom of the library."
Before Mycosynth Lattice is in play, you use it... to fetch the Mycosynth Lattice! Failing that, get a land or a Liquimetal Coating. 5/5

IT FETCHES NON-BASIC LAND. Also, with Karn Liberated it can now fetch planeswalkers too!

I gave it a five because it's common. Normally I don't rate cards that high if they can't stack with themselves. Same thing with all the artifact-boosters in standard that aren't artifacts themselves. Esper was amazing in that sense.

As more modern players discover this card, you'll see it coming to an Urzatron deck near you.

It functions like an uber-Preordain in the deck. Just an incredibly powerful card for the archetype.

I think the reminder text of this card should now say "cards with no colored mana in their mana cost or without a color indicator are colorless cards..."

I underestimated this card until I suddenly realized it fetches lands.
I was afraid it had a high chance of being a dead draw, but now I think I'm almost definitely putting this in my WUG defender deck, to grab some lands, one of my Warmonger's Chariots, or, if I get lucky, my Eldrazi Conscription.(why does it censor that?)
I also wouldn't mind fetching a Reinforced Bulwark.

This card works well in the Eldrazi deck it was designed for. But also can allow for some interesting decks. Say, finding your Myr Superion or Sigil of Distinction in a mana-elf heavy deck.
