I love this card. Its amazing almost all the time. I just wish more of the cards in the Eventide/Shadowmoor set were as fun as this one.

i use this card in tournaments alot i can honstly say if ur going to make any deck that has red or white in it or its a red/white hybrid card u got to have this one it is a end gamer in a combo with balefire liege and it can win you the game or give u a advantge nearly 90% of the time one of my favrite cards

Definitely in my top 5 favorite creatures in the game. In addition to Shivan Meteor, it also combos nicely with Pestilence/Pyrohemia and any of the Rath Cycle Kor. Elemental horses are so cool!

Ah greatest win against in indestructable Preeminent Captain. I used an enchantment that caused the little 2/2 Preminent Captain to attack every turn, and kept blocking it with Spitemare. :)

Don't ever assume that this creature will live to block. But Spitemare + Indestructibility = win.
I build a pestilence deck with this combination and some en-kor dudes.
Spitemare gets 1 damage from pestilence, and redirects this to himself(you get 2 life) then again and again and again, till you had enough and then you direct the damage to whatever target you want.(at least i think it works this way please let me know if i'm wrong).

Huge fun without being too powerful.
Unlike many hybrid cards I think his ability justifiably fits in both mono white and mono red, as well as feeling W/R. See mirror strike as example of white doing this kind of thing.

I accidentally ended up with infinite life.
I had played this guy, and equipped him with the Scourge of the Nobilis. Then, I summoned Deathless Angel. It looks rather obvious now, but the Deathless was a new addition to my deck, and I hadn't seen these two cards together since I only run one copy of each.
In any case, I had the two of them out for two turns before I realized I could make the spitemare indestructible, cast lightning helix on him, and then have him deal 3 damage to himself over and over again (while gaining 3 life each time because of the scourge), until I had a million+ life and I sent 3 damage into my opponent.
I like cards that can do a lot of different things, and this card is just excellent in that regard. While there's "better" 4 CMC R/W cards, I keep playing spitemare because I enjoy being surprised by what he can do.
Why is Nightmare a Nightmare Horse, Thundermare and Timbermare Elemental Horse, and this... only Elemental? Why not make it a Horse like its relatives?
