The Dominus certainly isn't a bad card. It has a pretty universal ability that can be useful in almost any situation. The only downside is its colouration; its too slow compared to other red beatsticks and doesn't really fit into many blue environments.

Situational...but when your opponent has a fully charged planeswalker ready to open up next turn with their ultimate it's the most fun card to play ever. "I can haz planeswalker? kthnx!"

well, that player will certainly use his/her planeswalker's second ability as soon as he takes notice of this guy.

I agree with judgeent-day i built a red+Blue Deck with 2 in it and it backhands anyone i play(paired with clout of dominus).

Spectacular card. Being able to steal any card from the opponent is just cruel, and also really fun to watch, ha ha! I admit the cost for Dominus is slightly awkward if he's being played in a three colored deck but thats really the only minor downside to him. As for him being the target of a removal spell, I wouldn't worry; Clout of the Dominus can give him shroud and in a blue deck there should be at least some counter spell ready to stop anyone from trying to kil him. And being a 4/4 flyer as well makes this guy the epitome of blue-red perfection.

This Guy Is Great And Hybrid Costs Are Fairly Easy To Work With. Plus Hes Still A 4/4 Flier And Hes Got A Built In Threaten Doesnt Gety Much Better Than That. Plus The Art Is Wicked As Hell

He should team up with some "sacrifice a permanent" ability to make good use of those stolen permanents everytime. Imagine something like Greater Gargadon.

I DEFINITELY agree with holgir. I already have a suspend deck with Dominus of Fealty in it, and if i were to get my hands on a Greater Gargadon..... O_O

Sorry, HydroGoose, you can't negate creatures. You can essence scatter him (watch out, because if they are smart, they're running swerves, declarations of naughts, etc.), cancel him, broken dreams him, even cursecatcher or familiar ruse him, but NOT negate.
And spark spray is 1 damage! I looked it up! What good does that do against a 4/4 flier?
What you need against this guy is board wipe!
If you throw green in a deck with him, though (try vivid lands to get this guy out easier), try "Ooze Garden." Or "Scarland Thrinax." Maybe "Mercy Killing" (I make your thing into my own tokens!) If you make a highlander or non-standard with him in it (and other "control your enemy's stuff" stuff), you can throw in that one old enchantment that makes your enemies sac creatures when you sac one! Take a creature, sac it, destroy an enemy creature. What's not to like?

5 mana for a 4/4 flyer in its self isn't bad. The fact that you gain control of a permanent every turn is just amazing. You can shutdown enchantments that opponents have with this card as well as artifact, planeswalkers, creatures, and lands. Really amazing card overall.

So what happens if you enchant Paradox Haze to yourself? Do you gain control of 2 permanents? If so, that's just so darn wicked. =X

Drop in a few Clones and voila--a Dominus of Fealty frontline...on the cheap! A wicked and wickedly useful card. A little Diplomatic Immunity (or Alexi's Cloak) and it's even more wicked >:D

Dominus + ooze garden = 2 mana per ooze army, that kills your opponents creatures to boot, and in the normal red green colors of mana.

Yes in combination with certain cards like Paradox Haze you are enabled to have two upkeep steps allowing control of two permanents.

hahahaha followed footsteps.

actually would you be able to take a card with the one that came into play on your upkeep or would you have to wait for your next upkeep?

Using Bazaar Trader to permanently gain control of the Threatened card seems like a solid casual plan.

@God_Of_Destruction: Except Dominus OWNS Demigod. He litterally owns him like property, Demigod of revenge is Dominus' slave!

In other news, Dominus, such a fantastic card. Act of Treason has converted cost 3. For those who have not gotten it yet, this guy is a flying, decently powerful and resistant, AND improved Act of Treason every one of your turns, all for 5. He can take control of any permanents and not only creatures. He is useful in any situation, plus opens up so many combos without even being Legendary Unique!

With so much power packed into a single card, expect opponents to remove him as soon as possible. His body can take a Lightning Bolt, but a Doom Blade or such... not so much. Therefore it's recommended to run him with his own Clout of the Dominus which for one more mana turns him into a 6/6 with SHROUD.

Pros: Mana cost, flavor, stands up against removal, flying, ability.

Cons: Pretty weak for a five-cost red card, even if it is partially blue. I would have made it 5/4, or given it some other ability. Still, very good card.

@ Gezus82: great idea! It would be actually hilarious!
However, the dominus have to be in battlefield since the beginning of your turn for the ability to trigger...

I've never tried it, but it should be very funny (not so much for the opponent...). I like 4/4 flying creatures, and love Blue or Red... I'll give it 4.5/5

Claws of Gix

Free Land Destruction. Add some of Blue and Red's copy effects and you get a quick concede from each opponent. Not saying it is a good combo, but p*ss off a few players that have been annoying you in previous games.

Conjurer's Closet lets you keep what you steal, as long as you're stealing creatures.
