There is nothing fancy here. Despite that, this card is part of a group of cards that are not very good, but have one redeeming value: Flavor.
When you find playsets of these flavorful, simple to play cards, throw them into starter decks. You would be surprised how much of an impact a flavor-rich card can have on newer players.

Whoever put this in 8th Edition wasn't paying attention - the strictly better Storm Crow was already in the set!
Glad to see that Wizards made a balanced version of Storm Crow. Unfortunately, it does not help that they reprinted him in the exact same set, at the exact same rarity.
Storm Crow would like a law suit. The name's a total ripoff.

Everything about this card is bad. The stats are bad. The art is bad. Even the flavor is bad. Usually WotC gets at least one of them right. Not this time.

Sure sea eagles can get food but do they rend worlds?
I feel like part of the flavor text should be switched: Where air meets water, talon meets fish. That way "air" and "talon" line up, as do "water" and "fish," and it implies that the talon is striking the fish, not vice versa.

I like Seagle's art and flavor. And......well that's the only nice thing I can say about it.

Storm Crow's little brother who tries too hard to be his big brother. If only he could get out from under his big brother's shadow, he could really shine...
This card has the dubious distinction of being strictly worse than two Homelands cards. Note that several of the things it's strictly worse than are even of the same creature type (although it's not like it's a very useful creature type; many others are much-better-supported fairies.) It's also strictly worse than a card in its own set, with the same creature type, at the same rarity. And several of the cards it's strictly worse than are, themselves, strictly worse than cards that, in turn, nobody really uses.
This is also, currently, the lowest-rated two-mana-or-less blue flier ever printed. There are only two lower-rated <=2 CMC 2 blue cards ever printed.
I understand that some bad cards are necessary, but still, what were they thinking? Joking aside, it's not like Storm Crow or Zephyr Falcon are good cards.

the best thing you can do in Mtg is cast get the fish in this art revenge by using polymerization on storm crow and the fish in this art to make mulldrifter, then kill your opponents sea eagle with it. and then jam an arrow into his knee and chortle ahahahha
aw i love this art. makes me nostalgic....i bought the 8th edition 2 player starter deck set from a kid in my class for like $5 in middle school, i was so stoked

Then they should rename it Sea Beagle.

Let's get this to 20!
It's a good thing I'm a Stephen King fan, or I would have waited for 20.
