Regarding card design and flavour a great counterpart to the original land.
Regarding the card itself, the effect includes herself, which makes this card also useful as solid 2/3 blocker.

Useless card. Played this several times and it's still useless. Ugly to boot

@Hokeymon

Put it in a token deck. Durrrr? A lot of cards are useless in the wrong deck.

are 1/1s still 1/1s if they have +1/+1 counters. as in would this pwn as much as I think it would in a Sigil Captain deck

@Gezus82: Lets see... When a 1/1 got a +1/+1 counter on it, its a 2/2.
1/1 not equal to 2/2.

ok, so here is my question:
tap this card for the ability
the ability resolves.
an elvish champion enters play

Do you have a 2/2 elder? or do you have a 3/4 elder?

the wording seems a bit vague here.

A 1/1 is still a 1/1, no matter how big it gets. As long as 1/1 is the number printed on the card (or the number that something like Godhead of Awe makes the numbers be), it stays a 1/1. You can put as many +1/+1 counters, as many Pendelhaven Elder boosts as you like, it'll still be a 1/1.

@Master-Crimson..

+1/+1 counters and +1/+1 effects do change the actual p/t of the creature. i.e. you could NOT thrive a bunch of counters onto your elves, and THEN give them all +1/+2. At resolution of the elder's ability, it checks the total p/t of each creature. What is printed on the card makes no difference at all.
But I still love the card :D, works well with the saproling deck in comes in.

Of course, the elder's ability is an 'instant,' so you oculd activate it in response to Thrive or playing an Elvish Champion. The ability would go off first, then the spell, allowing you to take advantage of it for one last turn. Or you could just play a deck which only uses temporary p/t buffs like the original Pendelhaven or Timberwatch Elf.

For reference: Jacques le Vert.

she's a 2/3 blocker in a pinch! Dodges pyroclasm, marsh casualties, and similar. I don't have the heart to put her in my fungus deck, but I want to..

Nearly every card in Time Spiral block was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.

This card references Pendelhaven, a once-lush forest of legend. Jacques le Vert was the original protector and elder of the woods.
