A decent limited filler player and way better than just about any of the Prophecy 'sacrifice a land' cards. As if that was difficult.

I don't really care for the Cephalids' abilities, but I love all their artwork. I like how the Scout seems to be a female.

I didn't realize octopi could fly. Why doesn't Llawan just fly around?

This actually isn't terrible, in the late game at least. If you're topdecking and keep running into useless mana, play the land, tap it and sac it for another card. You'll need to tap two extra, but an extra card might make all the difference at that point.

This guy is actually pretty good! I don't know what you guys are talking about. He was also a lot better when he was printed, back when power hadn't crept and saccing lands helped you build up to Threshold, which was a major keyword in Odyssey.

Two mana for a 1/1 flyer is pretty poor, but his ability can be useful. Lategame, sure, when you have more lands than you know what to do with. It also becomes more attractive with Illusionist's Bracers - suddenly you are sacrificing a land for the privilege of a Divination whenever you want!

I know what you're thinking: that's a pretty out-of-the-blue example of the bracers being good with any activated ability. If you're using the Scout here in a Cephalid deck, though, suddenly it has tons of targets. Aboshan, Cephalid Retainer and Callous Oppressor are all solid choices as well!
