It's interesting to note that the artwork on this card bears a more-than-coincidental similarity to the museum from the computer game 'Shivers'.

One of my friends uses this with megrim. Draw a creature: pay 3 and keep it, or discard it and take 2 dmg.

Use this with Vedalken Mastermind to put the squeeze on everybody else while you may draw freely :).
Specters, Megrims, Liliana Vess, and the former two make for one wicked discard-burn engine.

This isn't such a bad card back in the day. Blue/black was a pretty useful color combination for reanimation decks and this card helped you get your fatties into the grave while hurting your opponent.

This card totally rocks with Tomorrow, azami's familiar as it says "instead of drawing you put a card in your hand" so your opponents will have the problem dealing with the crypt, but you don't!

I used to run this in a deck with underworld dreams and howling mine.

Why not just play this in a Blue or Black deck that doesn't run many creatures?

Damnation, Black Sun's Zenith, and Mutilate can keep you alive while, in combination with Breathstealer's Crypt, forcing your opponent to take damage in order to rebuild their board presence. Heck, you could even use cards like Vanishment and Spin into Myth to harass your opponent; Misinformation also becomes amusing. And don't get me started on Agonizing Memories; it's brutal enough on its own.

If you are especially sadistic, why not also play Time Spiral/Time Reversal and/or Wheel of Fortune/Reforge the Soul? You get a new hand of kill spells and countermagic, while they aren't left with much of a hand unless they sacrifice large amounts of life. For an added dose of silly, Teferi's Puzzle Box will punish them even more after forcing them to redraw a hand of seven.

Failing that, why not run reanimation spells and/or Madness creatures, as others have mentioned? Or you could go for the kill with Spiteful Visions and maybe Words of War to prevent you from accidentally killing yourself, with the added bonus of helping to kill your opponent?

Also mentioned before, Megrim and Liliana's Caress put your opponent in a Catch-22 situation. Shrieking Affliction can also punish opponents who keep discarding their creatures.

This is an awesome card, from a design and gameplay perspective. I think cards like this are healthy for Magic: The Gathering. My only complaint, really, is that it's maybe overcosted by 1. 1BlueBlack would curve into the black board sweepers much more elegantly.

Front page gets it right. This is an all-star in Lazav, Dimir Mastermind EDH.

I run this in my Mimeoplasm EDH deck. Its pretty fun, either your opponent feeds a card to their graveyard for Mimeoplasm to eat, or you chew away at them, 3 life at a time. Drop it on turn 3 and it really starts to add up.

Despite its weird and seemingly prohibitive appearance, its actually rather beneficial if you make the most out it if a card is sent into your graveyard. Its a card I rarely see get any love though in EDH which is strange.

I'll play this with my Nekusar, thank you very much.
