Only 2 mana, can be put into mono black for card draw, and a sturdy 3 toughness!

It should be 1 card for each 3 life.

Great if you get one early in multiplayer.

Isn't the reminder text a little redundant, and obvious?

Cool card for multiplayer, interesting general for EDH.

Useful card draw for any blue and\or black aggressive decks.

isn't saying it's redundant and obvious redundant?

I can imagine combining this with Bloodchief Ascension in a Blue Black Red Deck.

My friend runs one of these in his fairy rouge deck aaaaand its pretty effin good, although it doesn't do much attacking... It just kind of exists to draw cards, but thats pretty much an estra card per-turn... Good stuff, although I like his non-evil counter part Sygg, River Guide better

It's obviously superfluous to call it redundant, obviously.

This is obviously getting out of hand and you guys are just being redundant by pointing out how obviously redundant this is.

great card for a rogue or merfolk tribal deck and a good card for any other blue/black deck. it's a 1/3 for 2 mana which is the going rate for a vanilla creature but draw a card everytime an opponent loses 3+ life? it is not even combat damage and you don't even have to be the one that does the damage. I almost always get at least a few cards out of this guy when I play him.

Evidently, there are obviously varying degrees of redundancy and these are all obselete

The redundant rules text has redundancy.

This works as a good General.

Obviously, this isn't used for big attacks, but more-so, a card that can give you card advantage, and since I'm talking about EDH, and since the effect affects each end-step, you could draw an extra 3 cards before your next draw phase.

He's my general mostly because I find that whenever I draw him, it's way too late in the game, and thus is why he is my General and not Oona, Queen of the Fae.

Also, i kind of annoy people with things like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Braingeyser, Prosperity and lastly, Psychosis Crawler

Nice little creature. If you got a blue/black deck he's a great add on if your looking for a low cost creature. His legend status is a big weakness for him though.

He is such a fun and enjoyable general to use as your commander in EDH. Each turn becomes a minigame to see if this present turn you can cause an opponent to lose enough life from his or her life total through loss of life (or damage, which causes loss of life) to draw a card because the opponent playing against you lost 3 or more life this past turn. An enemy opponent with smart brains will wastefully squander resources in a desperate act of desperation to prevent you from gaining an early card advantage, which will lead to a late-game advantage later in the game.

Best of all worse facts, the presence of this summoned creature being there will make otherwise mediocre cards such as and including vampiric touch change to become better than mediocre as you boost their previously unimpressive effects with the additional effect of cantripping to draw a card.

Unfortunately, Deathcurse Ogre has still not become playable despite this increase in his playability, due to the expensive and high cost of mana from your mana pool which requires tapping an inconvenient number of mana lands. What a dumb stupid.

Seriously, f*ck that guy's face with a dick.

Hit your opponent for 3 during your turn, draw a card.
Hit your opponent with Lightning Bolt at the end of their turn, draw a card.

That's already 2 cards.

At first, this card confused the crap out of me. Then I read the reminder text. "Oh, of course, damage causes loss of life!"

The redundancy of its redundant redundancy proves how redundant redundant redundancies can be.

Pretty cool, for only 2 mana. Nice little effect and a body tough enough to weed out attacking weenies.

All I can say is that wow, this card is annoying as an EDH general.
Was playing against this in a 2HG EDH matchup, every turn they made us lose 4-5 life and he got to draw two additional cards. The only other thing the deck did was draw more cards and run counterspells, and due to his general he always had the card advantage.

Luckily you need mana to cast counterspells as well, so we managed to run him dry one turn and used that chance to destroy all his islands.

I remember in EDH I was playing progenitus and one of the players had this guy. My deck is built around the fetchlands and shocklands for the mana base, and everytime I went "crack fetch take 2 i'm conley woods" he drew a card, so I quickly stopped doing that.

It's a darn shame extort isn't in his colors. He's such a good general...
Hussalo
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
Oh, but Extort IS in his colors. The hybrid mana symbol in the reminder parens don't count towards a card's color identity.
Myrs
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
Yeah, Hussalo is right.
The reminder text contains White/Black, but extort is just a keyword. So you can use black extort cards with him (and blue ones too, yay :P).
