It's fitting that he's a vampire, because he cartainly sucks a lot. 2/5. And yes, I'm aware I'll burn in hell for that pun.

Boss in limited. If you can get in a Mind Funeral each turn, you're going to win. But outside of that, I just don't think he's very good.

I'm hoping that I can pick up a foil for relitivly cheep, cause he looks like he could be awesome. This is the card I want the most In my Prerelease pool, just a shame he isnt very spectacular in the current meta 3/5 Stars
Is he exciting as he could've/should've been, no. However he is a real clock, fits in Dimir, and will have tons of fans. Over all he seems like a fine card.

So disappointing! He isn't technically strictly worse than Nemesis of Reason, but I don't know why you would ever want to play Mirko instead of Nemesis. With art as awesome as this I really wanted something good, or at least playable, but I don't think this is either one. The only time I would ever be happy to have one is in a draft.

Don't be hypocritical guys, this card sucks. It could have easily have had deathtouch, lifelink and intimidate. It's not a "repeatable mind funeral every turn" just because it's stats make it so terrible, and a five drop with 2 power is never going to get through. Would rather play Vampire Nighthawk. Dimir is so underpowered in the entire RtR block it's pathetic. What a shame Wizards...

He is in two colors that are really good at avoiding getting blocked. If you have been milling the opponent (likely if this guy is in your deck), he kills after two to three hits. If you haven't, it only takes five to six hits to kill an opponent. This is potentially more than his 5 CMC Standard compatriots, but also potentially way less.
Most important, his ability doesn't target, which means that you can keep milling even after a Witchbane Orb (in Standard) or Leyline of Sanctity in other formats. Most mill decks just roll over to those cards, but this guy pushes past that, and still meets your win con really efficiently. This actually makes him situationally better than Anime Jace.
He is not bad. He's worse than Nemesis of Reason but not strictly worse. Worse than Nemesis of Reason can still be pretty good.

Limited bomb, but a letdown otherwise. Even grinding to four lands is rather underwhelming given that this is the guild champion...

Nemesis of Reason didn't even have to hit the player to mill for a truckload. And it was built like a tank to boot. The Mind Funeral effect is "cute" but shouldn't be so hard to trigger WHILE keeping this fellow alive. He should have had unblockable instead of flying to make the cost even somewhat worthwhile.

If they made him pass the vanilla test, it wouldn't have been all that bad. A 4/4 for five in two colors would be fair, especially since damage and milling don't really compliment each other. All we have now is an expensive creature that forces the user into a mill strat.

I don't get it. Why is this guy legendary? "Hey guys, we need a flying miller for the set". What's legendary about it? It's not unique, it's not creative, it's not interesting. Not saying it's a bad card, but it's just so generic. It could has been as well a non-legendary uncommon.

I think people are definitely undervaluing him. Provided your opponent drew five lands over the entire game (if not, they're probably manascrewed), it takes him only three hits to finish your opponent on his own. Combined with other Dimir mill stuff, even relatively plain ones like Paranoid Delusions, he can easily kill your opponent in two strikes, possibly a single one.

Bit boring, but the ability can be a pain, I've bled horribly to Mind Grind before now. Still, like Szadek and Undead Alchemist, you have to wonder whether it's simply easier to just punch them to death conventionally (Though the Alchemist's main trick is to generate chump blockers whilst milling really).
Then again, if you ask yourself that question, why not simply ask yourself why you don't run Black Lotuses and murder people instantly? It's all about style guys!

He has a decent body, evasion, and a Mind Funeral potential, but man... Is that mana cost a pain in the ass. Most Reanimation spells in Standard are at 5 mana, and once this hits the board, it most likely will get killed.

Would have liked a something to give spells Cipher. Maybe "Whenever Cardname deals combat damage to a player, you may pay . If you do, exile target instant or sorcery encoded on Cardname. That spell gains Cipher."
Could be balanced because it's their graveyard, so never know what you'll get.
Or a Cipher ability on him to ramp mana. "Add to your mana pool at the beginning of your next pre-combat main phase." Help pay for all the expensive Cipher cards.

i think this guy could be cool with undead alchemist to create quite the army, or even with the duskmantle guildmage's first abilty. the life loss could end the game in a single turn. this guy has potential in the right build, but sadly he's not a standout win con by himself.

I really, really like this guy. Fantastic art and good mill. He's fantastic because he works so well with both Lazav, Dimir Mastermind and Consuming Aberration.
If you need more "unblockableness" or immunity to Dimir Charm on this guy, just enchant him with Tricks of the Trade or Way of the Thief. Now you're a happy camper and your opponent isn't.

Mirko Vosk is totally Captain Needa of the Dimir. He's been given important assignments, but he has Screwed UP. Big Time. Lazav had him buried in a wall, and will be just fine with either success or failure in the Maze Running, since Lazav will probably be personally Cheating instead of caring about his not-so-reliable pawn.

i've played saboteur style decks for quite a while now (ciphersonic specifically) and i gotta say, this guy is really damn disappointing. maybe nice in draft as 40 cards is so damn easy to mill out, but c'mon people: you guys do know what else exists at 5 mana for U/B players? THESE GUYS:
and here's why, in my opinion they are better picks for a 60-card casual deck than mirko.
1) NONE OF THEM ARE LEGENDARY. 2) only Ghastlord of Fugue requires hitting them to do anything and that one is UNBLOCKABLE with better stats.(specifically 4/4). a 5 mana 4/4 unblockable is already pretty good, but his ability to pick a card and permanently get rid of it adds a nice touch. it may not be mind funeral, but it is damn nice to know that cipher will be better for this guy than it will be for mirko. 3) Consuming Abberation only gets bigger with their graveyard, frequently being beyond the stats of even your opponent's biggest possible creatures. he has a built in grind that when played properly will do just as much if not MORE than work than mirko. (i've gotten him to 131/131 in a 4 player game 2 turns after he hit the field) 4) Nemesis of reason is the closest thing to Mirko in terms of card ability. but he has better stats (a freaking TANK at 3/7 for 5 cmc) and the biggest blow, HE DOES NOT REQUIRE HITTING THE OPPONENT TO MILL. HE JUST HAS TO SWING. THAT'S IT.
all of them are great, mirko can be fun, but i just feel like i would get SOOOOOOO much more work out of all of these guys than mirko. i'd rather play the spell mind funeral, than playing the saboteur mind funeral. guaranteeing you get in is the key to his ability and his only guarantee is a prayer that they have no fliers.

This card is a monster in sealed. In the late game, it's gonna be turn 7, they're going to have a lot of mana out, if you're lucky they'll play Gatecreeper Vine, whatever. It flies, and it mills. Two things that are lethal in Sealed. Put a Shadow Slice on it and suddenly he doesn't seem that bad now, does he?

Hands down the BEST artwork ever printed on a vampire creature card. I love it.
As for the actual creature, he's rather blah. A 2/4 that mills out your opponent? I suppose it's okay. For 3UB, they should've just said he was un-blockable. I don't think he would have been so broken, since he will only exist with Heartless Summoning in standard for a little while and he isn't hexproof. The sad thing is that since he has flying, he'll be vulnerable to Vampire Nighthawks and will be chump blocked Lingering Souls, but once those cards rotate out I think he'll see much more play.
Kind of a bummer, but the artwork more then makes up for it.
Edit: After having done three drafts where in each Dragon's Maze pack this was my rare, I refuse to skip this card. This is an absolutely a bomb in limited. I never had a round where I didn't mill someone completely out when I took Mirko Vosk. If you get him, go Dimir or go home. He's worth passing up a shock-land for.

I think he'll actually be somewhat good. I think people aren't looking at him from a perspective of having him buff creatures like Consuming Aberation. He can be especially dangerous against a Boros deck that hasn't gotten its creatures out yet because you can force your opponents to skip right over all of their little guys.
Or if you put him out, then next turn activate Duskmantle Guildmage's ability and hit through, its basically game over. They lose all of the lands, so 4 guaranteed damage from the guildmage, 2 damage from mirko vosk as well, so there's 6 damage right there, then add an additional let's just say 1 damage for the sake of having every other card be a land, so that's 10 damage. That's HUGE.

kinda weak in terms of power but otherwise an amazing card that i want for my milling deck :) 4/5
That would be 4 land cards from Mirko Vosk, 4 for each of the four Bracers(for Mirko's ability), 1 land for each of the four Blades, and 1 for each of the four Resonators(for Blade's ability). That comes to an opponent discarding 28 lands in a single turn, plus the +1+0 counters gained on Mirko from the Blades and Resonators. Or there could be more lands discarded by targeting Mirko with the Resonators instead; an additional 12 lands. For a max total of 40 discarded lands! On top of that, you can target other opponents as well.
Perhaps someone could check the math and/or rules, but if it works,I think that it would be a badazz combo that could sneak up someday and SHTF someone.
