Apparently, knowing the Tricks of the Trade is not the same as knowing the way of the thief...

The smoke effect is super creepy and the stuff of nightmares. Next we'll be seeing a Slender Man card.

I hope to be playing Orzhov at the prerelease. Having said that, I truly hope that somebody plays this against me because the first thing that I thought when I looked at this art was a Dimir player saying "I got your scroll!" to an Orzhov player. Now I won't be able to look at this card without thinking of saying that in a taunting, sing-song kind of way...

I like cards that make use of Guild Gates. 5/5 on the artwork 3/5 total

One of the worse gate mechanic cards in this set. Tricks of the Trade will almost always be better because toughness is somewhat irrelevant when you are unblockable.

The word "thief" makes me think it should steal the opponent's creatures. But it doesn't.

Not a bad card, 3/5 generally people are comparing it to Tricks of the Trade for its CMC and that Tricks guarantees unblockability, but I have found that this card is useful also when blocking, the 2 additional toughness comes in really handy sometimes. Add to the fact that you enchant Metropolis Sprite making her a 3/4 flying with Morphling abilities then you have yourself a beater. Half the time I grab this as a 6 pick because any creature it goes on becomes supercharged.

Value improves now that Dragon's Maze is in limited, as Guildgates matter a heck of a lot more now. Even with a higher CMC, it's more splashable than Gift of Orzhova and Unflinching Courage, and those cards are pretty playable in limited as it is.
