Also very tribal and therefore sweet.

In Standard, free Humans, Wolves, Zombies, etc, okay at best but potentially breakable.

Outside Standard..."okay, it's my upkeep. Oh look, I get a free Emrakul, the Aeons Torn! It'll go great with my Eldrazi Spawn tokens!"

A great addition to tribal decks, with the most obvious being Eldrazi. And Terese Nielsen delivers again with an abstract, strangely evocative, and decidedly cute piece of art. Win!

Nice in mono green beasts and multicolor elementals. Not to mention one of the most innovatively awesome arts in Magic.

The similar Call to the Kindred was great in Limited, and I think this card is even better. W/G angels? Yes, please!

I guess it gets out a lot of fun Lords really easily. Or just makes Relentless Rats popular again.

It's an interesting and fun but fairly limited use card. It'll work in theme decks and not much more. EDH will enjoy it, especially ones that are themed around a commander. I pulled a foil one in a box, and the foiling on this card looks incredible. It was one of the cards I wanted foil apart from the obvious ones (Avacyn, Griselbrand, caverns, temporal, etc) simply for the picture.

You can potentially get powerful creatures out onto the field early.

But you take the chance of being unable to draw cards you need. You reveal a land or a much needed sorcery, artifact, etc. and must put it away, then you draw a high mana creature that you will potentially never use since you keep putting lands on the bottom of your deck, or a creature that would have been useful.

This seems more luck based than anything else, and can be potentially infuriating

Am I the only one that's creeped out by the art?? That's perhaps not so much the question as.. WHY am I?? lol.. Something tells me not to get too chatty with the sweet blonde girl holding the goat..

Nice to build around, for standard legal deck you could use avacyn's pilgrims and possibly scorned villagers for early game, bladesplicer and hero of bladeholds for midgame (yeah and simulacrum's aren't bad either) and blighsteel colossus as finisher, if you ever happen to need one, if you're comfortable adding blue i'd say ponders help a lot.

Absolutely amazing in tribal decks. I put a few in my zombie deck, and almost every turn after round 3 ended up with a free creature at the start of my turn. I've gotten free Vengeful Pharoahs, Geth, Lord of the Vault , Skin Renders, and other high cost zombies.

There is the obvious weakness that your opponent will soon learn your deck after this has been out a few turns, but being able to drop a fatty in the first few turns makes this almost broken in the right decks, especially those that make use of other cards in standard like Ponder for even more efficiency. Make sure you can protect it from removal, so your opponent won't spoil the fun!

Make a green/white human and angel deck out of this with Call to Serve as the means of turning low drop human cards into angels. You could potentially have a Avacyn out turn 4 without even needing to ramp at all.
Turn 1: Land, Midnight Duelist or Avacyn's Pilgrim
Turn 2: Land, Call to serve
Turn 3: Land, Descendants Path
Turn 4: Whatever angel or human is on top of your deck to field.

Quick question, does this mean not only any creature card pulled that isn't a creature type under your control gets sent to the bottom of your library but also every other card as well, or is it just creatures? For example does this mean with this enchantment out you cannot pull any manna?? Or any sorcery's or any other spells? If so it would be good to enchant an opponent early on to stop them drawing any more mana, lol. Still think this card is Brill tho and plan to use it heavily in my angels deck. What do you guys think????
Grumman
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@Alex: First, you cannot enchant an opponent with this card - it's not an Aura, so the effect only applies to you, the controller. Second, the effect applies only once per upkeep, not every time you draw a card. Since it always removes the revealed card from the top of your library, it doesn't even provide any sort of negative filtering effect (although it can undo positive filtering effects like Scry).

But to answer your original question, any card it reveals is either cast without paying its mana cost or put on the bottom of your library. There is no third option.

"if the card is NOT playable, and goes on the bottom of the library, does that count as the draw step?" - cubby86

No, your draw for the turn is a completely separate step that takes place after your upkeep.

I'm always suspicious whenever an Enchantment starts offering up free creatures. Doesn't sit right with me. It's one of the few mechanics that's broken by itself. I mean, Eldrazi Spawn to Ulamog, Slivers to more Slivers, or Changelings to...anything. That just seems excessive for 3 mana, even if you only get one use.

Great card and works quite well with my green black zombie swarm deck. Only problem i've had with it is one game it kept sending my Endless Ranks of the Undead to the bottom of my deck :-(

It says CAST!!!! it means when you CAST emrakul, the aeons torn you get an extra turn... When you CAST a creature spell Primordial Sage draws you an extra card... When you CAST a merfolk spell merrow reejerey lets you tap or untap a permanent.

OMG i thought it just said put it onto the battlefield :P

Well 'cast' can be countered, but at least it doesn't forget abilities triggered only when stack is used.

This card is excellent with Goldnight Commander and Champion of Lambholt. I just wish I had Mayor of Avabruck copies to play with in my deck, but it works pretty well, especially if I can get my copy of Cathar's Crusade off.

Imagine this in a cascade deck with cards like bloodbraid elf or Eldrazi decks O_O;

But, more seriously, if you are in elf tribal or some other tribal and you are running/splashing green (werewolves/wolves), this is a good card to have around. Sure, it gets revealed, and goes to the bottom if it doesn't fit the bill but, hey, at least it's not in the graveyard because then this card would only really be good for the "mill yourself" archetype. It's not like you lose anything from it being there, you are just going through your deck for creatures and if you find them, hey they are free of charge! You still get to draw cards during your draw step. Also, 3 mana is a nice touch, still playable even at 3Green.

Note: This and Cavern of Souls makes otherwise unplayable tribes half-decent because it is a relitavely powerful ability that helps all tribes. Skeleton tribal, Wolf Tribal, Beast Tribal etc. It's all valid possibilities, even in standard legal decks.

This can actually be incredibly good in a tribal deck.
Somewhat counter-intuitive with itself if you happen to reveal it, but on average this does not only draw you a card two out of three times on average each turn, but even puts it directly onto the battlefield. This can be huge if you play with a mana curve that goes all the way up, or even just to evade mana problems when playing this in a deck with multiple colors.
I think i'll try this in a Shaman deck, since those also happen to be good at controlling and revealing the top card of your library, as well as having some great choices with high cost like Woodfall Primus and Leaf-Crowned Elder (who does something quite similar).

Personally, it's fun to run this card in a tribal spider deck...free Silklash and Blightwidow almost every turn? yes please. keep a terrifying presence or prey upon in your hand too. Fun. Oh and 4x Swarmyards in the deck...almost a waste of time hurting my 8 leggers.

Changelings o.o

Well really, any tribe could be good with this. Standard has humans, Extended has Eldrazi, Modern has Faeries, Legacy has Merfolk... the last two would require you to splash, but that's worth free creatures.

Love this card in my RWG Innistrad block deck. Imagine this Turn 1 - Doomed Traveler, Turn 2 - Doomed Traveler gets Call to Serve, Turn 3 - Descendents' Path, Turn 4 - Avacyn or Gisela. This deck also features a variety of Angels that are supported by Human/Spirits &/or Werewolves. Werewolves can get out of hand quickly with an unbalanced opponent. Once those werewolves turn Curse opponent with Curse of Exhaustion. Have Legendary Cleric (Mikaeus, the Lunarch) to pump up the crowd. Gain additional support from Land to pump up the crowd as well. Stock with top of the line Angelic Artifacts. Miracles can happen. Innistrad Planeswalker Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded to burn anyone getting out of hand. Flashback Instant & Sorcery cards are still a factor from the Graveyard. Need I say more.

Between this, Mwonvuli Beast Tracker and Noxious Revival, I'm thinking of a weird Modern U/G self-mill deck....

T1: Breeding Pool, Elves.
T2: Land, Forbidden Alchemy into Noxious Revival, milling fatty of your choice.
T3: Land, creature of the type of your choice. Personally I'd prefer Scute Mob or Boneyard Wurm, for reasons you'll see later.
T4: This, Noxious Revival the fatty. Protect creature with counters.
T5: Enjoy free fatty ( Worldspine Wurm, Giant Adephage )

Slow, clunky, requires high specialization but could possibly be very fun. Alternatively...

T1: Land, mana dork.
T2: Land, This.
T3: Land, Mwonvuli Beast Tracker , one drop ( for standard legal, try Bond Beetle , )
T4: Enjoy free creature? Bond Beetle into Giant Adephage seems fun.

The flavor of a small beetle evolving into a giant ant monster, and the monster is just the beetle's great great great grandson xD

It's a strong card, I'll admit, but a definate weakness I have found is that it keeps funnelling all your land to the bottom of your deck. I had a copy of this in my allies deck, which has over 30 creatures in it, and every turn it would be "reveal the land card you need, and put it on the bottom of your library, then draw a creature card you can not currently play". Very annoying.
