very cool, flavorful ability on a lord of a tribe that cares about being tapped. Useful too.

Enabled the "8 Lords" build of Lorwyn's merfolk tribe. This has three distinct advantages over Lord of Atlantis: it doesn't pump opponents' merfolk or changelings (or make them unblockable), it does not require 2 blue to cast, and it has an additional ability that is quite relevant.

1. He lets my blue/white merfolk deck mess with players and melt extra face.
2. He has a very, very, very...very silly name.

5 Stars to my strangely Jamaican sounding friend.

This guy is what makes merfolk aggro decks happen. He is, quite simply, amazing. - 4.5/5

When playing Merfolk decks with cards like this and Lord of Atlantis i tend to forget that blue actually isn't supposed to run aggro decks.

I guess you could be having "12 lords" now Merfolk Sovereign is joining the roster.

Use with arcanis the omnipotent or sea gate loremaster, and combo out tons of cards and draws. He is worth his weight in gold to a merfolk deck.

What a fantastic card. A must for any merfolk deck. Also, I looked up the word reejerey. It's a gaelic word for knight.

I find it strangely awesome that I'm not the only one getting JamaiacaMon vibes from the name. Of course I'd never make fun of its name to its face because I don't want to get eaten by a bunch of angry fish people. He's... Not even expensive. And the versatility afforded by "Tap OR untap" is just nasty.

I've always found it funny that the merfolk have turned into underwater celts I want to see a kilt wearing merfolk!!! Lesson of the day kilts are not skirts and they were originally only worn by the Scottish.

Uncommon? This has rare written all over it! Incredible in a merfolk deck, this rivals elf synergy.

This card is great in combo with multiple Stonybrook Bannerets. You can play a merfolk for B, and untap the land, playing another merfolk for B. And on. and on. and on.

Given that it's an uncommon and there are some amazing merfolk, this is an actual honest to god 5/5

This would have been pretty playable without the Lord "all other Merfolk get +1/+1" ability... :\

So if a merfolk leader on Llorwyn tries to adjust the borders of the merfolk territories for his own gain, is it a merrow reejerey gerrymandering?

Such an awesome card, by far my favorite Merfolk because it ties my whole Merfolk deck together! That and the fact that every creature I play is buffing all the others.. Outside of Roo***er Thief that is.

Also, I would even argue that this guy is better than Lord of Atlantis, because all he does is give your Merfolk islandwalk, whereas this guy lets you either retap your lands or tap down your opponent's blockers.

Nope. Because you're not playing the token it's just coming into play.

a personal faveroute combo of mine is this + Stonybrook Banneret + Azorius Chancery.
if a merfolk costs 2 mana or less, you play it for free and add 1 mana to your mana pool.
if a merfolk costs 3 mana, you play it for free.
if a merfolk costs 4 mana, you play it for 1 mana.

i have put 5 merfolk into play in one turn with just 3 mana open- a plains and an Azorius Chancery.

With merrow reejerey on the battefield, if I cast a merfolk spell and it is countered, can I still tap/untap a permanent?

The only good "Merrow". (Except Merrow Commerce but that's an enchantment).

As of 2/2/13, both highest rated Soldier and second highest are ironically not white.

Maybe I'm out of my mind, but I actually don't like running this in my legacy Merfolk deck. I run Aether Vial and almost all of my other Merfolk cost 2 so I want my vials to be at 2 at all times. Having to hardcast this just makes it too slow and clunky for the build and the ability doesn't trigger off of Merfolk that are vialed in. Most of the game I won't even have 3 mana and if I do I'll usually have something more important to save it for so I often found it to be a dead card. Master of the Pearl Trident in its place lets me have my 5-8th copies of Lord of Atlantis to make my guys bigger and synergizes more with what I want to be doing.

I realize that my Legacy Merfolk deck needs Leyline of Anticipation
