Viable card combo for Helix Pinnacle.

This is some awesome stuff.

I can just imagine a combo of this with Caged Sun (and possibly Helix Pinnacle, i guess) and just... kicking... ass...

Make a mono-green EDH deck, add some tough green cards along side cards like Llanowar Elves and Priest of Titania, and you've got a powerhouse of a deck.

It may be a little bit primitive, though

@herpaderp

Why would you need to ramp Omnath's P/T to a hundred and use Helix Pinnacle to win if you could just, I dunno, kill your opponent?

What was this card doing in the vault? It's still standard. Isn't the vault supposed to contain older, more powerful cards? Paying $80 for 15 cards and having one of them be something I can buy for $3 at my local card shop doesn't seem cool to me. Done ranting now.

Great card, using it with Llanowar elves to get an early Genesis wave off is fun.

Really makes the best use of Doubling Cube

@001010011100101110: You put the Helix Pinnacle in your Omnath EDH deck in case your opponent has a way to repeatedly Fog or chump-block or the like. It's nice to have multiple win conditions available.

Absolutely perplexing as to why this in a FTV set. It's not iconic, it's not an important storyline character, it hasn't seen play in any important decks, and it is from just a few sets ago.

I can SLIGHTLY forgive Ulamog's inclusion because its an important icon, one of the few colorless legendary creatures and is just pretty cool itself, but even that is stretching things as it came from the same set as Omnath.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Gaea's Cradle. Makes this card get outta hand fast. Add in Mana Reflection for even more fun.

This guy would have been important to Vorthos if it hadn't been for the Eldrazi.

Progenitus has something of a reverse relationship like that to Child of Alara.

Child of Alara is to Omnath, as Progenitus is to the Eldrazi.

2.5/5 just because he didn't deserve to be in the set. I think they should have limited it to maybe 3-5 legends from after Ravnica or so, but they used 10!?

Innistrad legend? Okay. Teferi and Progenitus? Awesome. Ulamog? Eh... Kresh and Omnath? WTF? Really?

@Kerlord: Yeah, I have a deck with this and Caged Sun. It's obscene. Everyone always complains that this thing stinks because it's a removal target. I, personally, think that it obviously would be, because it's so good, so I always get a Whispersilk Cloak out that I can immediately attach...overall, it's a great card if used right

I managed to swing for 70/70 with this guy the other day. On turn 3. Thanks mostly to mad amounts of Elves, Concordant Crossroads, Doubling Chant, Vitalize and other elfy goodness. If I had no morals, I would have equipped the Whispersilk Cloak in my hand as well. But I like to think I'm better than that.

This is a very fun card. I made an EDH deck around him that is very fun to play and very powerful. You can very easily get 21 commander damage with him.

If mana burn were still around I'm sure that this card would be a good card to use with Donate

Something is off with that comment, Parallax. Don't you mean "Progenitus is to Child of Alara what the Eldrazi are to Omnath"?

Canopy Cover was all i needed on this bad boy to dominate STD Casual MTGO. Jace did not know what to do and was bashed in the face rather quickly. Vines of Vastwood for some addition security of course.

But...... this should not be in the vault. Neither should a bunch of other cards that got included. I really want to read an article on why they choose what they did.

I don't think anyone has pointed out using this with Mark of Sakiko. Every time Omnomnomnath deals damage you get that much more green mana... therefore that many more 1/1 counters- that can be huge. Am I right that you would then be able to put up to four copies of Mark of Sakiko on it so his 1/1 counters quadruple every time it deals damage?

If I were to make a EDH deck off of this guy how would I go about it. For Instance would it be worth it to use an awakening, or would it give the opponent to much of an advantage?

@001010011100101110: You also use Helix Pinnacle as a backup plan in case they decide to throw a kill spell at the giant target Omnath paints on his face since he has no inherent protection.

Pretty much everything a green deck needs. An early attacker that grows into a late-game monster, resulting in virtually infinite mana in the process. Just get Kalonian Hydra on at the same time, and watch your opponent surrender. Ranger's Guile, if you're concerned it's getting Murdered or something.

so many combos, so much mana ramp.

i use it, i love it. use 7 of your 26 mana for an akroma's memorial and start kickin' ass.

"You know, I don't know much about it, just that every turn my Planeswalker uses it to figure out how much of a boost I get from all the mana he keeps tapping his Forests and elves for. It's no life skill, but I guess it's useful if you need to figure out who wins in combat. Obviously though, if you're playing {G} right, I win, no math needed."

Why is everyone talking about counters? Omnath doesn't naturally get counters, just multiples of +1/+1. You can't double anything with Kalonian Hydra or Vorel of the Hull Clade. You can't proliferate anything,

It seems that 3 or so years later, Omnath, Locus of Mana has evolved into Kruphix, God of Insight!
Just don't press the B button.
