Journey to Nowhere costs 2 on its own. This is like 3 consecutive Journeys stapled onto a pretty beefy angel. That's practically getting the angel for just . Not to mention you can target the grave to screw over reanimators, AND that the cards go back to the hand and not straight to the battlefield. This is too expensive to see constructed but white EDH decks everywhere will rejoice! Plus the art is damned epic, too, almost seems like it's a leftover from AVR.

The stats are subpar for this mana cost. Still: it's very versatile. You can use it as a slow triple raise dead, attached to a creature. Or to interrupt graveyard combos your opponent has. Or to get temporarily rid of creatures your opponent has. The combo of "bounce in response to the triggered ability", which works for oblivion ring and the like, doesn't work very well here, since the mana cost is just too high to keep playing this guy together with removal.

This card is severely underrated. It is a huge bomb, exiling you opponents' fatties, even ones wich pose a threat from their graveyards. Even if they don't have something you deem threatening, you can use it to exile creatures from YOUR graveyard, because, "When Angel of Serenity leaves the battlefield, return the exiled cards to their owners' hands." HANDS! HANDS! Even if it gets removed as soon as it came in, you removed the creatures from the battlefield! This card is sick!

Anyone who rated her less than a 4 doesn't understand the power she has. Getting rid of three of their creatures, or three problem graveyard-shenanigan dudes they have, or getting back three of your dudes when she comes in is really strong - that's more often than not an entire board state turnaround. And a 5/6 flier is very strong on its own right. And the fact that the cards return to their owners' hands - so they still don't immediately get their dudes back, or they have to find another way to put their guys in their graveyard - that's so key.

I don't see the awesomeness. It's 7 mana to cast or takes some setting up to cheat in- which is very easily stopped. And if you want to exile the stuff permanently, you need more mana and the cards to instantly do that as well. Sure, in best- case scenario it's rather fun, but seriously think of how many times you've been in a situation to be able to do this...

Our group refers to this card as "Bullsh*t Angel". Basically, This card is good, in standard at least, I don't know about in other formats, although I've yet to see it played, I'm assuming if you drop this in limitied you pretty much win the game (Except perhaps vs. Pack Rat or something retarded like that).
First of all, there's the raw card advantage. You're up one creature and they're potentially down three. That's a 4 for 1. Also, it's pretty safe, when it dies, the creatures it eats don't just go back into play like other similar cards (Eg Fiend Hunter and Oblivion Ring), and even then you can turn it into a net advantage if you grab dudes from your graveyard. The fact that it gets rid of tokens forever is also nice. Versitility is also a pretty good point of this card. You can hit up to three dudes, meaning if there's nother you want to hit, you don't have to. The graveyard thing gets your dudes back, and occasionally gets rid of your opponents Unburial Rites or Séance targets (Also this card is an obvious target for those decks). It can even bounce your dudes with ETB effects like Snapcaster Mage or Armada Wurmif you really need to.
Finally it's really good with terrible flicker cards (Restoration Angel doesn't count because that's a GOOD flicker card). For example, playing this, then targetting three of their dudes with the first ability before hitting it with a Cloudshift gets rid of three things forever, (read the ruling for the card) and then hit three other things as normal. And if you have this out with a Conjurer's Closet (or if you want to play outside of standard to play actually good cards, Venser, the Sojourner) you can make sure sure all of their dudes never stay in play more than a turn and you can always get as many creatures as you want back from your graveyard.

i think its necesary to add/change, in the ruling section, that: " If Angel of Serenity leaves the battlefield before its enters-the-battlefield ability has resolved, its leaves-the-battlefield ability will trigger and do nothing. Then the enters-the-battlefield ability will resolve and exile the targeted creatures and/or creature cards indefinitely."
probably will be better to explain, that they are only exiled if the controler of ability decides to exile them, the do it or not, its (as u known) always done on the resolution.
So if it dies before first trigger resolves, he can decide to not exile any target at all.
the actual oracle ruling is causing problems with my local players.
Thanks for your attention.
P.D. Fiend hunter has the same problem.

How does this work flavourwise?... She imprisons the creatures and corpses in another dimension, that disappears when she dies, and they return to their original planes, ready to be summoned again? That's the only way I can get this to make sense, especially that return to hand thing doesn't make immediate sense from a Vorthos perspective to me, does anyone know exactly what she does? This card is too impactful for its cost. In recent years I get the idea that mythic and rare just means that cards get cost reductions. Compare this card to Angel of despair. Sure, the second one is much less restrictive in its target, but it'll fill a similar role. And this new card gives a better effect. Not too mention that the angel of serenity works well in pairs. And it's a 5/6.

really... a 3.8/5? Platinum Angel gets a 4.3/5 and this, which sees moderate constructed play in unburial rites and pod decks and wins you the game pretty much every time gets a 3.8/5?
@Banekiller: Gisela dies to removal immediately. If somebody kills this with removal, it still has an effect because notice that it sends the stuff to the controller's hand rather than field? Gisela is nice for casual, but this is effectively a one sided board wipe and it paves wins in constructed. That's why it's much more expensive than Gisela.
It's a beautiful mythic. It's a huge threat and really powerful but it still takes planning and practice to use properly. It's not just a dumb beater. This is exactly what a mythic should be like.

I run her in every EDH deck I own that runs W and have never regretted it. It's also shocking how often I've pinned something from my own graveyard under her. It discourages people a lot when killing her will get two of their creatures back at the cost of an earlier bomb they worked to get rid of. That ability also works beautifully with Conjurer's Closet. Easily 5/5 stars from me.
I got this card from a random "grab bag" at my local card shop and I've used it from day one. However, until just the other day I've been misreading it all along and letting my friends/opponents get their creatures back on the battlefield when she dies, which is wrong. That's okay, she just got even better for me :)
Also, how do none of the top comments mention the art? Aleksi Briclot did an incredible job on this one. I struggle on where to start critiquing it. I absolutely love what I think is the perfect contradiction (maybe contrast is the better word) between the atmosphere of tranquility and the display of power, or reserved power, I should say. I think the best thing I can say about this card is that Briclot did, in my opinion, the perfect job of creating a flavor and environment that matches the name of the card, yet gave her two badass looking swords as if to say: "I'm all about peace, but mess with me and it's on, mofo." I think I should just leave it at that. Simplicity is best sometimes. Great card, love playing it and seeing some of my friends' jealousy or admiration when I do. 4/5 for the card, 5/5 on the art.

I don't play much competitive standard, nor modern. I can't comment on those formats. But for EDH this thing is amazing. Pin down an opponent. If you can flicker it you can bring back your own creatures (well not directly, but you get to replay them) or exile their creatures permanently. It's a bit high costed, but EDH is the format for playing high cost spells. At least among me and my friends. I really don't see a downside to this. Yeah it doesn't have protection, but think about it. If they kill it right away as long as you exiled 6 cmc worth of creatures. Then there really isn't a way for them to be getting an advantage on you mana wise. Well unless they kill it for zero, but that is unlikely, and even if they do delaying three of their creatures by this much is worth it in my opinion. And if you exile 7 or more cmc there really is no way for them to get an advantage by killing it. Of course they could counter it, but the same could be said for most creatures with removal. 5 stars. But that is for it's use in EDH. As I said before. I don't know exactly how well it performs in other formats.

Wizards use of "and/or" kind of su€ks. I think they want me to only have three targets total, but taken at face value the card should allow you to have six targets maximum - three on the battlefield and three in the graveyard. They could eliminate this kind of confusion by using "When Angel of Serenity enters the battlefield you may exile up to three targets: creatures on the battlefield or creature cards in graveyards." They could use a dash (-) instead of a colon (:), if they get scared about this being misinterpreted as an activated ability.
Unless this card really does read: "When Angel of Serenity enters the battlefield, you may exile up to three other target creatures from the battlefield and creature cards from graveyards." or "When Angel of Serenity enters the battlefield, you may exile up to three other target creatures from the battlefield or creature cards from graveyards." In which case: Yippee for six exiles (I hope) (Honestly, the more I think about, if they only want you to have three targets, they could just leave out the word "and". The sentence reads just fine without it.)

And if you have this out with a Conjurer's Closet (or if you want to play outside of standard to play actually good cards, Venser, the Sojourner) you can make sure sure all of their dudes never stay in play more than a turn and you can always get as many creatures as you want back from your graveyard.
Why Are People Allowed To Take Forever And Not Actually Accomplish Anything
This Is Boring
Damn. Solid stuff.
" If Angel of Serenity leaves the battlefield before its enters-the-battlefield ability has resolved, its leaves-the-battlefield ability will trigger and do nothing.
Compare this card to Angel of despair. Sure, the second one is much less restrictive in its target, but it'll fill a similar role. And this new card gives a better effect. Not too mention that the angel of serenity works well in pairs. And it's a 5/6.
This should have cost at least 8 mana or be a 4/4.
Remember guys, not every mythic now has to be a Thundermaw.
5/5 anyway for the obviously numerous applications
@Banekiller: Gisela dies to removal immediately. If somebody kills this with removal, it still has an effect because notice that it sends the stuff to the controller's hand rather than field? Gisela is nice for casual, but this is effectively a one sided board wipe and it paves wins in constructed. That's why it's much more expensive than Gisela.
It's a beautiful mythic. It's a huge threat and really powerful but it still takes planning and practice to use properly. It's not just a dumb beater. This is exactly what a mythic should be like.
I assume you are trying to point out that it is not strong. In your example, all the creatures were 2 or less mana cost. Imagine if they were even just around 3 or 4 mana each. On top of that, this card can get your own creatures out of your graveyard. This card is really strong.
I think the best thing I can say about this card is that Briclot did, in my opinion, the perfect job of creating a flavor and environment that matches the name of the card, yet gave her two badass looking swords as if to say: "I'm all about peace, but mess with me and it's on, mofo."
I think I should just leave it at that. Simplicity is best sometimes. Great card, love playing it and seeing some of my friends' jealousy or admiration when I do. 4/5 for the card, 5/5 on the art.
They could eliminate this kind of confusion by using "When Angel of Serenity enters the battlefield you may exile up to three targets: creatures on the battlefield or creature cards in graveyards."
They could use a dash (-) instead of a colon (:), if they get scared about this being misinterpreted as an activated ability.
Unless this card really does read:
"When Angel of Serenity enters the battlefield, you may exile up to three other target creatures from the battlefield and creature cards from graveyards."
or
"When Angel of Serenity enters the battlefield, you may exile up to three other target creatures from the battlefield or creature cards from graveyards."
In which case: Yippee for six exiles (I hope)
(Honestly, the more I think about, if they only want you to have three targets, they could just leave out the word "and". The sentence reads just fine without it.)
Ordinarily this card is a 4/5. But when it inspires you to use black and white in conjunction with one another, you can heighten its value just a little.
4.5/5 on a personal level.
