No, it interacted badly with Scry.

And by "badly" I mean "hilariously".

Combo with Inexorable Tide and you can wish for more wishes.

Note to Inistrad... This ability, and other cards like mass polymorph seem sort of red to me, or maybe it would just be awesome if red had it. Don't know why. Maybe along with some of thier old big creatures... butcher orgg :)

A tad expensive, and it's kinda forcing you to play mono-blue (or blue-supported artifact), but it seems pretty solid to me, espcially with all the library rearranging blue (and various artifacts) can do, in standard and beyond.

Combo with the new Ponder, Preordain, Crystal Ball or an old classic Scroll Rack, my all time favorite deck manager.

Loved this card in M10, glad to see it make a comeback, although it's a shame scry is gone. Still, Ponder will work too.

Can you say Eldraz, but the earliest I see you being able to combo that off with out luck of the draw is turn 6 with ramp and 7 with out.

You had me at 4/4 Flying for {2}{U}{U}....that extra ability is just fantastic especially with spells that grant you benefits when casting them, such as Emrakrul, The Aeons Torn or Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, in {U} you can use things with scry such as Augury Owl so that you know what you'll hit with your wish, and cards like Contagion Clasp can help keep wish counters or Glimmerpoint Stag and Venser, The Sojourner can help by resetting the counters entirely. Also great synergy with anything that puts cards on top of your library, such as the -2 ability of Liliana Vess.

Make sure you keep a lot of Sage Owls and Ponders around when using this, and you'll know what you're wishing for.

Probably my most favorite card ever printed.
Loved building casual decks around this in M10 or drafting this badboy and loads of large creatures and keep wishing away.

Overall this card is great.

4/4 Flying for that cost isn't exactly bad but this ability is just great.
Obviously the ability works best when you build a deck around it ( Sage Owl, Ponder, Preordian, etc. ) but even without that. You get to play a random card from the top of your deck for a small fee of 4 mana? That's nowhere near bad.

TLDR;

I partied when i heard it was coming back.. the party is still going strong.

Even in a deck not built around it, I've found it very useful. I used it recently in a classic blue milling deck I had built out of a few recent core booster packs. The thing tears apart decks. Since his ability is not a tap, you can simply play a Jace's Erasure, equip him or your other flyers with Curiosity and bombard the opponent well destroying their deck. Then, when the wish counters run out, just throw him against another 4/4 or keep attacking the opponent until you can play a few Jace's Erasure cards.

He combos pretty good with Vengeful Pharaoh, whose weakness is that the opponent will know what you will be drawing when the Pharaoh get's topdecked . Use the Djinn's ability to save yourself one mana to cast the Pharaoh during upkeep, get him out, and also not mess up your draw.

Totally awesome with Future Sight or Magus of the Future.

I'm thinking about playing this in my EDH deck. I could combo this with Sakashima the Impostor. Just use up all of her wishes, then bounce her back to my hand for more.

What about using him in EDH/Commander? I'm just building my first EDH deck, but he seems like you could put him to some use in a format where games last longer and decks are filled with high-CMC bombs.
My Intet, the dreamer deck already has a lot of topdeck manipulation (duh, look who's the general) with stuff like Crystal Ball and recurring Halimar Depths and a lot of hideously fat spells to cheat into play.

Not to complain but why do my wishes cost 2BlueBlue? Aren't I supposed to be free wishes?

This guy is solid even when you dont have any top-deck control. I ran him in a deck with ponder, but even when I couldn't ponder + wish, random instant speed wishes have been really great.

Very undervalued card, 4.5/5

I use this with brainstorm. I pulled off a turn 6 omniscience and Enter the Infinite. Then the Eldrazi came out.

Sets up all sorts of fun with Melek, Izzet Paragon. You always know your top card, and if it's an instant or sorcery you can get it out of the way (copied!) with Melek, making way for those lands or high-cost beauties you'd gladly pay 4 mana to whip out.

Not quite the same; Chandra, Pyromaster still requires you to pay the mana cost to play it. This card just chucks it into play for 4 mana.

Compared to Aerial Caravan:
1 cheaper.
• +0/+1.
• For an extra 1, spells are free.
• Only works 3 times.
