Should be a legendary creature.

Legendary creatures weren't around when this was printed, although if printed after Legends it would have been legendary...A relatively narrow card outside of Arabian Nights...

There have been tons of Efreets and Djinns printed after Arabian Nights. Still narrow though.

It dosen't feel like Magic at all when it talks about real historical figures and qoutes the Qur'an.

This was printed in the first expansion, Magic was still finding it's 'voice'. But yeah, he's only really useful against a deck heavy in djinn and efreet. And those don't exist anymore, soo...

Unfortunate that this can't be retconned into a legend, because it so obviously is one.

We really need to go back to Rabiah. Also, has anyone actually played a djinn deck?

For 1White, this might still be the cheapest-costed assassin-mechanic creature ever.

And he's a beast of an OMG SURPRISE in EDH, which is a format where you might actually see stuff like Juzám Djinn hit play.

Hail to the King, baby.

@luca
Serendib Djinn and Serendib Efreet are absolute terrors on the battlefield; especially in blue (meaning they're likely to be guarded.)

Artificial Evolution and the Velis Vel spells. Overall, combined with the previous cards mentioned on this page, I think there are quite some ways to make the King threatening.

Tap to cut target baby in half.

Until I saw this card, I always wondered why Efreets and Djinns wore diapers. They must poop their pants and cry when he hits the battlefield.
