Combo with Oracle of Mul Daya much? This joins just a handful of cards that let you "topdeck". I would have liked this ability stapled on a smaller, cheaper creature, but who wouldn't? It's more flavorful as is. I still prefer Future Sight, but, of course, that's a very blue card. The other cards with this ability are Magus of the Future and Yet Another Aether Vortex

Like Magus of the Future, but way smashier.

I don't quite understand why Future Sight is a green ability, as deck manipulation is basically the bluest ability in the universe.

first off a 7/7 with trample for 7 in standard is playable to me anyway (in green) adding futuresight is awsome this card is to green as chandra's pheniox will (hopefully) be to red, look foward to maybe getting it at the prerelese

Garruk's Packleader is a better choice IMO.

It isn't terrible (actually, its very reasonable), but I prefer it's cheaper little brother just for the sake of getting a trampler out early in the game. Worth trying out, certainly sidedeck material, but I don't know if I will make space for i in the main deck.

If you're playing this in limited, recognize that the 7/7 trampling body is overwhelmingly more important than the library ability. If it stays on the battlefield long enough to prove its board presence, the game is almost over already. Any creatures you topdeck after Garruk's Horde are probably going to arrive too late to the fight. Carnage Wurm may be a better deal unless your opponent is running a lot of soft-removal like Crown of Empires or Pacifism.

Also, I don't understand why Wizards decided to make this the release promo. I feel as though Dungrove Elder or Chandra's Phoenix would have showcased the set better. They're competitive, they're meant to be built around, and they're eye-catching and interesting.

Gotta love this card. Although I'm guessing this is why they didn't reprint Garruk's Packleader. The synergy is enough to make me poop my pants.

This was an auto-inclusion to my mono-green Beast deck. It's just too good not to.

The promo art is a throwback to Garruk's old beast token art! lol

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can cast multiple creatures in one turn with this ability.

Solid, especially in Commander, where the huge casting cost is not that bad and where there are probably more ways to exploit the top-deck ability.

Garruk's Companion is leading the charge, and he looks ***ed.

My friend has a super fast mana excel green deck with massive creatures (and a few small ones for early game) I still don't know how it works so well, but I'm going to trade him this card and probably end up never beating that deck again. (unless I use my shadow destroy deck)

Why is this rated so high? Its a 7/7 trample for 7 way to expensive. The last ability is not that good and can be a disadvantage. This definitely does not deserve a 4...

@TheWrath: A decent green deck can get 7 mana by turn 4. And with creature interaction (which green has plenty of) this can be very painful.

How about This + Aluren + Phyrexian Devourer?
Cast the creatures that cost 3 or less out of your deck, and exile the other cards. Do this at instant speed before any counters resolve and kill the Devourer.

Lots of ways to win at this point, but here is an interesting one:
Four of them should be Laboratory Maniac, and four should be Elvish Visionary.
As soon as you have at least one visionary on the stack, exile any others that come up, so that a couple Maniacs will resolve earlier and you will win the game instead of losing it.

Works quite nicely with a couple of cards in a beast deck:
Shivan Wumpus and Nulltread Gargantuan won't get you card disadvantage anymore. (If you got a Plaxmanta or something else to "bounce" for the gargantuan, your opponent will be particularly happy.)
And a Wirewood Savage lets you draw another card along with the beast you summoned.

For reference: Oracle of Mul Daya, Cream of the Crop, Magus of the Future.
I run these guys in my Intet, the Dreamer Commander deck, which is about 40% creatures, and he works wonderfully. Unlike the Magus, a 7/7 body for 7 is great to swing with, and any way of ordering the top of your library (Cream, Oracle, or Sensei's Divining Top if you're feeling spendy) he allows you to cast multiple creatures easily for an enormous card advantage.

The look on an opponent's face when on turn 8 you pop out an army small green critters is priceless. Especially when they know the turn 9 critter is going to be an Arachnus Spinner or werewolf or something else just as brutal. "Yurp, that's a purdy angel y'got thar."

It's a good card to restore your position on the battlefield when opponent uses mass-removal. It would fit to elves but the problem is that elf decks usually have 4 lands at most on the battlefield.

This should be a little cheaper. I think 5 cmc would be the best.

WrathofShane...that's on the same curve as a Titan. :/

I just opened this in a booster pack, and I half-think-you're right, half-hate-your comment.

I mean....

Look, I think this guy Is AT LEAST as good as a Serra Angel. Probably decently better. As good as Serra Angel with lifelink for no mana? If you feel like you like the play style a Craw Wurm theoretically should give, this Should be a great/pleasing card.

But....it's kinda bad. :/ It sees what, no play in anything? I'm not exactly begging for it to be played Legacy, duh Timmy-Smashers are Rarely that good at any point in MAGIC's history, if they were ever that good -_- (Timmy Smashers differentiate from Spike Smashers in that Tarmogoyf should cost twice the mana, and does not. This has a nice, reasonable cost.) And that's the problem. It's like if your deck wants to run Birds of Paradise, you probably don't want to run your deck. Sure if your mana ramp is Lotus Petal or Noble Hierarch, THAT'S good enough. But Llanowar Elves into Garruk's Horde is just....bad. :/ Not even good enough for Standard. I'm not asking for Legacy-style Ramp decks, and I'd be really really surprised if this was actually broken into Modern by something...but I wish that the possibility of this getting played in Modern was less Insane, and the possibility of it getting played in Standard was Downright Normal.

This guy is probably GREAT in EDH, but I feel he deserves Standard Playability, and he's missing Haste, Hexproof, and a red expansion symbol to get it. -_- What happened? :/

I know that 'TIMMY SMASH' isn't always the best strategy for Magic...but this DOES have Magus of the Future's ability, kinda! This LOOKS good as a Rare...it just isn't Playing out as good as it reads..."Limited Bomb" doesn't count. Rare Creatures should be Limited windmill-slams automatically, and then get something good on top for your trouble, either as very good low-curve picks that help smooth gameplay somehow in cards, lands, or board control, or as Bomb-Smashers that Attack For Win. This OUGHT to be played in Green/Blue decks more! Green/Blue ought to be good. :P With, like, Augur of Bolas, Garruk Wildspeaker, and Time Warp? I'd like that to be a Standard Deck. :(

I don't think those cards have been in Standard at the same time, but I think they should be.
