Hum. Could be a target for Dismantle for its +1/+1 counters. Or maybe a pseudo scry engine with library manipulation. 1.5 for the Devourer.

Time to up this card's rating, people.. This is part of a tournament winning combo with Necrotic Ooze these days.

Necrotic Ooze would get really big, except that the current Oracle wording adds the >=7 check as part of the ability.

It appears they have changed it back. It is only a triggered check now. So Necrotic is back in business with this guy. I do know what you were talking about though, I saw the Errata change before. I thought it was a bit dumb to change the wording on this when Flash-Hulk still is word for word.

If it is a massive problem, ban/restrict it. Otherwise, back the hell off. Remembering all the alternate wordings on all these cards should not be a requirement to play the game. As much as Wizards has been Newbie Farming lately, you'd think they'd agree.

Maby some combos, but on this own this isnt good. Best case scenario your paying 6 for a vanilla 6/6, nothing to call home about. More often you will be stuck at 4 or end up popping this thing on accident.
Maby if it granted a few nice ability's when you reached max charge, then you could combo with top deck control or something. But its just an overcosted vanilla creature that will most likely end up doing nothing but wasting your turn.

The comments here have mentioned Necrotic Ooze, but haven't mentioned the other piece of the combo that makes this so deadly. (It has already been posted on the Masters Edition version of this card, but I'm re-posting it here for more visibility.) The other piece I'm referring to is Triskelion.

1. Buried Alive for Necrotic Ooze, Triskelion, and this.
2. Re-animate Necrotic Ooze
3. Exile a card from your library to get a +1/+1 counter, remove a +1/+1 counter to deal 1 damage to your opponent. Repeat as needed.

I'm not sure but could you use it's zero ability infinitely before it buries itself? It'd be amusing at least.
