I love it when they make these "make your own monster" auras and equipments that basically allows you to turn any creature you control into a famous Magic creature. In this case, the lhurgoyf.
Why couldn't all of the Living Weapons been this impressive?

Will often start out at a decent size and will only grow from their. Being able to move it around only makes it that much more mazing.

Most definitely the best living weapon guy in the set. I wish they did more living weapon and more battle cry.

Not going to lie, when this was first spoiled I thought living weapon mechanic is one of the lamest/boring things ever. However, now that I've had some time to stare at the spoiler and ponder on cards available in standard my opinion is pretty much reversed and I now find LW to be awesome.
That's mostly because I really think bonehoard and flayer husk are the cards that really pull any artifact (metalcraft) based strategy together in standard. Ability to produce artifacts that are also dudes yet immune to conventional critter removal is so unreal good for those strategies.

Oh look, it's Bonehoard. I mill you for a bunch, and this guy gets real big, and I swing. Would it be too mean to play Lightning Greaves with it so it could swing for a ton when it comes into play? Nah...

Play with horde of small critters (preferably with graveyard triggers) and phyrexian rebirth if you're into overkill.

Ok... so let me get this straight... I get a Lhurgoyf in COLORLESS??? and then when it dies I can simply pay 2 to make another one of my creatures a Lhurgoyf? Awesome!
This card MIGHT actually be a constructed quality rare... maybe... great casual card though for sure.

I'm curious -- How exactly would you go about equipping this thing? I mean damn, look at it. It's like a ten-legged killing machine. Do you just kinda duck underneath it and hope for the best?

yeah and with a low cost trample card like garruck's companion it completes it not to mention u put it on a low cost hard to block creature like signal pest or on an infect creature like phyrexian digester

An absolute game-ender against caw-go and decks that utilize mass removal. can even surprise and kill gideon, especially good when put into play for 2 from stoneforge mystic's ability. Why is this card still only $1??

Definately a good card when put in the right deck. I was thinking of sideboarding 2 or 3 for my RDW, could be a great card late game, and the fact that its ready the moment it hits the board is great.
Now I wanna see a variant of Trusty Machete with Living Weapon. Maybe make it a 2 cost to set. Could be interesting.

Get THIS in your hand, CHEAT it into the field using Stoneforge Mystic's ability, BAM!! you have a blocker(or a chump blocker) d^-^b

This guy is surprisingly good in Limited. Over an extended game, you can really set up some house-cleaning. After all, it doesn't take long for 4 or 5 creatures to pile up in the graveyards. A +8/+8 Phyrexian Juggernaut is a force to be reckoned with, and even a +4/+4 Darksteel Sentinel can really keep you in the game defensively while trading poison counters for additional bonuses.

A great finisher in a weenie deck with board wipes to clear both sides. I use it in my Mortar Pod deck with stuff like Goblin Arsonist, Perilous Myr, Myr Sire etc.
Seeing how the equip cost is 2, living weapon is not as useful as one might think But is still think living weapon is one of the coolest mechanics of the set, although much to overshadowed by poison. It really is a downer that they are only printing four new living weapon cards in NPH. Living Weapon, you will be missed.

The only card I consistently get that I'm not pissed about all the time. I HATE GRINDCLOCKS AND TORPOR ORBS AND DEATH'S SHADOWS AND UNWINDING CLOCKS! ARRUGH! But I love the Lhurgoyf Machine in EDH and it works in every deck. (BTW I have 3 mint Torpor Orbs and one which I tried to eat on a dare. #TMI)

This is a pretty solid card honestly. It saved one of my friends in a duel (his blue-black ultradeath deck vs another guys Bant deck). The Bant guy was at about 50 life thanks to some Rhox War Monks, and Bonehoard player was at 2. he finally manages to clear the Bant guys threats down to just a Noble Hierarch and had an18/18 germ with Bonehoard. He equipped a Skinwing and another Bonehoard and two turns later won. Really annoyed Bant dude, and was a great match because we always tell that guy to make Standard decks, and that Bant isn't even that good. He has won a few times, but when he plays Bant I like to bust out Bloodbraid Elf.

I'm running an infect deck with this and some Blighted Agent just for good measure. Doesn't take long in a massive multiplayer game before he starts 1 shotting people. That 2 mana equip cost is just amazing as well.
Played a game with 7 players a few weeks back and the look on everybody's faces was priceless when I played this card and asked everybody to search their graveyards, then said "alright. my germ is +24/+24"
I hate this card with a passion, my little brother has it and we played a five hour game with 2 v 2 until he brought this out, its just not fun when anything he equips with it is a +78/+78

first time i saw this card i thought it said BONEHARD, but after a second, i realized its bonehoard..he he he he..Type your comment here.
It's stupid, but I'm amused by the fact that there's a 0/0 Germ creature in there. That means it's possible to buff the token with something like Blanchwood Armor before remiving the artifact from it, and beat the crap out of people with a giant superpowered Germ.

Great include for many creature oriented decks. Using this after a board wipe from your opponent will help to recoup losses. Goes great with Puresteel Paladin =)
Awesome art! Unsure how I feel about him. All graveyards is nice for a variety of deck-types but means that optimal strategy might be counter-intuitive.

This card is so so so sweet in multiplayer games where creatures are constanly being blown up, and people play sweeper after sweeper, because every dude you drop is a threat because for only mana it gets + */ + * where * is Lhurgoyf (which is still good in multiplayer btw). Even as just a colorless Lhurgoyf with upside this card would be good in multiplayer. Put this on your general in edh I mean, oh man this does dirty dirty things.
