I agree with dingophone that this guy would fit in Dark Ascension, because this guy would do wonders in standard right now. If he was reprinted now, spider spawning / splinterfright decks would become a lot more competitive.

I think this guy is quite fun. regenerate makes him such a tempting option over a variety of finishers.
That's power and toughness equal to four times the number of all creatures in all graveyards. Give it trample (probably through Rancor) and have fun.
