Yeah. It's ability is almost as good as novablast wurm, and it doesnt deal the damage to your own creatures. I love it.

I'll be the first to vote this lower than 5. I give him a 4.

This guy's cool, and his ability is awesome at level 6, but it still takes sinking 14 mana into him in a deck that's heavy on red for him to do much. If he were, say, green, he'd be much better.

At all cost, don't let him reach level six......or else!!!

Turn 4: 3R---> get a 3/3 red creature (Canyon Minotaur)
Turn 5: 1R----> lvl up once: get a 6/6 red creature that can attack that turn
Turn 6: 2RR----> lvl up twice
Turn 7: 3RRR---lvl three times: attack and make your opponent cry

@Hairless Thoctar
Zendikar has a couple good minotaurs already Kazuul Warlord and Ruinous Minotaur

I'm calling him "Lord of Shat". He's not that amazing...takes too long to become an effective creature. And I'm usually a big fan of minotaurs. Looks REALLY good with Basilisk Collar though if you can get him to level 6. You'd gain a ton of life.

if HE were the same cost and vanilla, he'd be passable. With leveler he is fantasitc. If they spend removal on something that cost you so little... cool.

Rise of the Eldrazi is a slow set. Looking at him before the prerelease, I wasn't really impressed. Seeing him in action, decimating my opponents' defences, I was impressed. In this set he's a major bomb. If he's not dealt with quickly, he's going to be destroying your opponent's creatures and smacking them in the face for 6 each turn. Give him anything with Totem Armor and it may as well be game over. He may not be quite as great in Standard though.

A Canyon Minotaur leveler. Pretty sweet.
Makes me wonder why Wizards had such an urge to make another functional reprint of Hill Giant named Lagac Lizard in the same set.

It's too bad that most level up creatures are not viable outside of limited. They're so much fun!

Training Grounds makes him Turn 6, Level 6 with plenty of mana to spare for other spells such as counterspells, and the aforementioned basilisk collar.

This is a good card in limited without the level-up ability, the level-up makes him fantastic, in constructed, his level-up cost hurts him, if it was Red, I could see it being played in constructed....

Hmm... unless I'm playing draft, where there is limited removal, I'd probably only pump him to level 2.
A 6/6 is nothing to sneeze at.

Man, he shoul've cost 3 mana to level, when he reaches level 6 it's a bomb!
Just pulled one out of a booster, this is one of the levelers that really work, the cheap level up cost means you can easily give him a level if you have 2 mana to spare. If you keep him at level 1, he is still a 6/6 for 6 mana, very nice.

In the early game he's sort of a big Putrid Leech - an aggressively costed big vanilla dude who opponents can sometimes snipe advantageously, if they play their removal correctly. Midgame he's a vanilla 6/6 for 6, which can get work done. Once you have eight mana on the board, though, this guy changes attack modes: now he goes off the turn after you drop him.

A poor man's Inferno Titan - or four more Inferno Titans as four-drops, depending on how you look at it. Incidentally, a fully leveled Minotaur Lord plows right through each and every Titan, so that's not too bad - but for sixteen mana, I'd expect him to!

Lord of Shatterskull Pass has leveled up!
Lord of Shatterskull Pass is now level 6.
Lord of Shatterskull Pass is trying to learn Rape Face. However, Lord of Shatterskull Pass already knows four moves. Delete a move in order to learn Rape Face?

I love this card as an easy 6/6 to put on the field. Generally speaking, he will be removed from play before he gets to lvl 6, but that just means that my opponent was forced to take him out-something I don't really mind as i don't bet on him making it to lvl 6. If I do it's game over though.

6/6 for 6 mana in red is unusually good. This guy is better since he can come out for 4 mana and be a 6/6 attacker the next turn. While it costs another 10 mana for him to get fully leveled and he'll probably get wiped out along the way, he's clearly a threat your opponent has to deal with.

Amazing in limited. May be too slow for constructed but it is still surprising to me that he hasn't made it into ANY tournament deck lists that I have seen.

Combo this with time of heroes and any aura (hyena umbra is my favourite) and he is a living death machine. Adding deathtouch is just nasty.

This guy shines as early as level one. Think about it. What in the whole color of {R} can hit the board turn 3 or 4 and smash face as a stable 6/6 with no drawbacks turn 4 to 5 and on? Blade-Tribe Berserkers can be just that for only one turn, and then reverts to being Canyon Minotaur, where as this is just goes in the opposite frigging direction.

Really fun card. Totally usable at levels 0-1. The level 6+ is just (hilarious) gravy. If you playing a slower format (2HG, EDH, FFA) try using him with some of these cards to make your opponents weep at level 6. Grafted Exoskeleton or Blight Sickle, the obvious Basilisk Collar, Scythe of the Wretched, or Unscythe, Killer of Kings.
Also fun with Mirari's Wake since it's going to help your entire deck anyways. Again for slower formats though. All in all I give it 5/5 CAUSE IT'S AWESOME!

If I were to play Phyresis ( Creatures you control have infect(I believe)) and had Lord of Shatterskull Pass at level 6+ then attached Bassilisk Collar (Equiped creature has Deathtouch and Lifelink) then attacked an opponent, would the -1/-1 counters count as damage, therefore destroying all creatures who do not have Indestructible? or would Infect negate Deathtouch?

Wow, a good minotaur. I think it is saved by the level-up mechanic; it does not come in strong. Wizards are still wary of a didgeridoo deck. If you didgeridoo this thing out you get...as slightly less color intensive version of hardcasting him. Even if they made a 10/10 mino for 40 mana (assuming no erratic explosion shenanigains) it would be broken because you could easily have it on turn 3 and another the turn after.

3/3 for 3Red is meh, but playable.
6/6 for 4RedRed is pretty nice, and a 6/6 attacking on turn 5 is a threat.
6/6 and a one sided Inferno every turn for 9RedRedRedRedRedRedRed is...a hilarious cost, but then again, lets not think about levelers like that.

For some reason, I always equip this guy with Shiv's Embrace when I play it. Maybe I just like watching a minotaur dragon fly about and shoot earthquakes from the sky.
