Kor and vampires seem to be pretty strong tribes so far, can't wait to see what the next set has.

I can see a deck built around these things.... great card.

This just needs enough solid Kor to build an entire deck of them to be amazing. Even with just 1 equip he's giving +2/+2 to all of them. 2 equips makes 1/1 Kor into 5/5 beasts.

I went to the pre-release and I have to say that I disagree. There are plenty of viable equipments in this set alone that compliment this guy perfectly. Explorer's Scope for instance is an an innocuous little 1 drop that lets you get lands out just for attackting, combine that with Trusty Machete or even better Adventuring Gear and he has the potential to get huge while boosting all other Kors to hue status too.

The machete doesn't need to be self effective, the Kor tribe has two other equipment dudes at this point, Outfitter of which allows you to bypass the downside of grappling hook, and the Duelist is pretty nuts with anything on him, he's happy with a scope, and even better with a machete.

It's not proven yet, but the synergy the tribe has with equipment should make the weapons a little more playable then they would be normally.

Nifty little guy. If only there was a decent thing to equip him with., this could be central to a deck. As it stands now, I can't think of anything that makes him better than Honor of the Pure. In Worldwake, though, if there is a good equipment card, this guy will probably see play.

@MagicStick: Those things are not consistent/ self effective enough to be good outside of limited.

@Gilgiga: Equipment cards, only slightly less than Auras, have to be amazing to get any play whatsoever. Now, if we get something like Jitte in Zendikar, yeah, Kor.dec could easily be built around this guy. Otherwise, soldiers get more love, and want to include a few Kor. In otherwords, you want to include cards in an aggro deck that are good on their own merit, not just cards that are only good if you draw the doublestrike guy or Armament master.

The Kor Tribe has some great potential. I've got a Kor deck that is built around these guys. Try to get them and a bunch of cheap equipment out and you can be dropping 5/5 Kor creatures out for 2 mana on turn 3. Combine this card with Conqueror's Pledge and that can be very difficult to beat. I hope that Worldwake has some equipment that meshes well with this strategy.

Sorry guys, but all you need is Whispersilk Cloak and this guy, and people will find it really hard to deal with your +3/+3 (with Honor of the Pure ) Kor.

Just a few equips and your field of small Kors becomes a field of threats.

Play with just Bone Saw and Sigil of Distinction (where X is 1) and you can equip him very cheaply or swing for 3 or 4 on turn two with Kor Duelist. Use Kor Skyfisher for "free" by returning your equips. Not a tournament winning deck perhaps, but it will punish midrange and greedy people who keep marginal hands.

Aweosme card. Killed easyly but just give him Shroud and you should be fine. Can work outside of Zendikar but really strong inside with all the cards which attach equiptments around.

Why is the lord of the epic kors SO BAD!

I just love the thought of this with Conqueror's Pledge. This is the first time they've taken kor seriously as a creature type. First it was the 0:redirect damage effect, then a few blue shadow creatures, now it's finally TRIBAL!! And Kor are so COOL!! They take equipment to a level they haven't been since Mirrodin block. The duelist, outfitter, and Armament Master all rock, respectfully fitting for INSANE amounts of damage, removing equipments' downside, and making a huge army. PLEASE, Worldwake, give this archetype some more tools!!

When the 'other kor' does it mean any other kor, or just those not named Armement Master?

A very interesting idea, but just not worth it.
The amount of time and effort spent drawing and casting this guy, drawing and casting so more Kor, and drawing, casting, and equipping this guy just to get him removed is infuriating.

If you're running this guy at a FNM, don't.
Unless you're running up against people too stupid to be playing any sort of creature kill, this will be far too inconsistent to win you any games.
Honor of the Pure and/or Marshal's Anthem.

This card has beaten me more times than I care to mention. This card is the center of Kor decks, and With the Kor Outfitter, can become crazy huge with things such as Grappling Hook while boosting all your other Kor.

A 2/2 Kor Soldier for 2, cool. An ability that, in the Kor/Soldier equipment deck that he would be used in, rewards you for the equipping you'd be doing to whatever you had anyway by buffing all of your other creatures by 2? Yeah, that's cool, too. There's no reason not to want this card. There is no drawback.

turn him mythic and legendary then change the text so other kor get +2/+2 for each equipment of the battle field.

I dont know how this ppl say a kor deck with this guy is slow
but man when you got a kor duelist equiped with lets say bone saw on turn 2
I mean 2/1 double striker
or even a kitesail aprentice being 3/2 flyier.. and then when you might going out of gas just put this and equip with another super cheap equip for sure I swear it is not slow

Kor Equipment may not be the best deck in the world, but it is a solid deck. This guy, Stoneforge Mystic and Kor Duelist are the basis of a very solid deck. Cards like Brave the Elements can simultaneously provide combat tricks, help get the kill and protect your Armament Master from removal. There is also a large amount of excellent equipment in the Zendikar block, and more in Scars of Mirrodin.

Always a beating. Sometimes not in your favor. If this has a couple of pieces on it, and gets destroyed, your entire team is left high and dry. Getting multiple out spreads the risk if you can get both equipped.

A lord for two mana = Fantastic

A lord that pumps for more than +1/+1 = Super

A lord that doesn't work always = Very Poor

A lord that needs other things than it's tribe = Very Poor

= This is poor as a lord, but good as a creature.

Conqueror's Pledge and one Bonesplitter and it's pretty much game. Certainly not the best thing you can do, but it's very fun.

A pity this guy doesn't also boost Soldiers. I'd almost be willing to take half the boost for greater versatility. Ah well, he's still good for Kor equipment decks.
