nice little equipment, in green this can give +6/+6 every turn. really nice for just 2 mana.

Decent in limited. Otherwise, it is much too narrow.

An ok equipment, but of course if you don't have any lands it doesn't do anything. Good thing is that it's cheap.

This is a nice, simple piece of equipment that gets stupid good in limited, especially if you slap it on a creature like Plated Geopede that already has Landfall +2/+2. Crack a fetchland to attack with with a 9/9 on turn three? youch! (I did manage to pull a 17/17 geopede, and clear the way with burn off the extra Harrow lands at the pre-release)

Strong in limited. Rarely worth an extra card slot otherwise. +6/+6 every turn is unrealistic although it can burst to that. More realistic even in a deck built for it is +2/+2 every turn with occasional boosts higher.

Useless card! Trusty Machete is just as cheap casting AND is always on. Although it is possible to activate it more than once on your turn you will regret the 0/0 during your opponent's turn.

Very fun with Steppe Lynx, Plated Geopede, or Windrider Eel. BAM! I hit you for 4 on turn 3. BAM! I hit you with a 5/5 first striker on turn three. BAM! I hit you for 6 in the skies. Not the most aggressive strategy, but one that will definitely hurt your opponent.
BTW, on a budget Terramorphic Expanse acts likes a fetchland.

A strong piece of equipment in any deck featuring landfall. This thing is cumulative with any existing bonuses, so you're Baloth Woodcrasher just got an additional +2/+2 for virtually no cost.

I think Worldwake made this solid limited card an insane equipment in the right deck. And in a deck that is competitive too, not just casual. Because of one card:

Stoneforge Mystic allows you to run this as a 1 of in your deck so you control when you grab it. With a toolbox of other equipment in the deck (Basilisk Collar and Behemoth Sledge in my own Knightfall aggro deck) you can also control what you are grabbing, so if this isn't right for the situation you don't even have to grab it.

But let me tell you, when it is the right time to grab the Adventuring Gear it is a game changer that wins games the next turn or two.

The synergy this offers in the deck I'm running in particular is crazy.
The deck uses Knight of the Reliquary to pop out two fetch lands a turn (one for my land drop, another from the Knight). A creature equipped with this is automatically getting +8/+8 from that.

And what creatures do I run?
Ranger of Eos controls exactly what I put this on. Funny thing, the best targets of this are one drops, so I have a huge control on what my deck produces.
Kor Duelist
Kitesail Apprentice
Steppe Lynx
The Kor Duelist would become a 9/9 double strike.
The Kitesail Apprentice would become a 10/10 flying.
The Steppe Lynx would become a 16/17.
The earliest my deck hits that is turn 4.

This baby wins games.

Anyone who says it's useless or lame just doesn't know how to play it right.

Awesome card. Am I the only one who thinks the entire Zendikar block is amazing?

This little thing is really awesome. In Boros Landfall and RDW with a heavy landfall base, this card wins games. Don't even get me started on him with Spikeshot Elder.

Nice.
With fetching, this can be lethal...

Great with fetch-lands, and especially great with landfall creatures. It goes like this:

1st turn: plains, steppe lynx
2nd turn: adventuring gear, lotus petal, equip, fetch land, plains, equipped lynx now 8/9. attack!

This train is winning tournaments, and not just T2. It is a powerhouse if played in the right deck. At first, I didn't see its true value, but this card is awesome in some decks. 4.5/5.

Could someone explain why this card is rated so low? It is winning far more tournaments than Explorer's Scope (rated at 4.39).

Let's stick it into Valakut Ramp and go on an adventure.

Apparently infect creatures enjoy adventuring.

@ PLUM: very good selection of creature cards to run this with (i.e Kitesail Apprentice). It helps me out I was looking for inexpensive flying creatures for this.

Equip on your favorite moonfolk to fly over after you abuse them both with Azusa, lost but seeking or possibly a fastbond.

Green is full of creatures and effects that allow you to put additional lands in play to the usual one-a-turn limit. Use this in such a deck.
With Harrow you could have this on some 1/1 weenie and be suddenly swinging at someone with a 7/7 on third turn.

Finally, a use for all those stupid Sweep cards from Saviors of Kamigawa. Besides that, it's often not that hard to plan your land drops, so this can be a nice boost.

On its own, it seems like a conditional pump equipment. It's conditional, so it can be either really good or really bad, depending on the situation. If one manages to play a land each turn, the creature can maintain a +2/+2 on one's turn. If that isn't the case, however, the creature wouldn't get any bonuses. However, due to the fact that it really only costs 1 to equip after you've played it, it wouldn't hurt that much to use it, unless one has a really strict mana curve or have already planned another combo out.
In a ramp deck, I can see this being extremely useful. Considering how early this can can be brought out and how easily it can be equipped. Cards like Cultivate, Explosive Vegetation, can really pump up the creature for the turn for such a low cost.
In an equipment/metalcraft deck, which I often see built from the Mirrodin blocks, this would also do very well. Even without the landfall ever triggering, it can help enable abilities or bonus effects of a spell.

Patron of the Moon comes to mind along with assorted moonfolk.

Beautiful synergy with Explorer's Scope. And if you were running landfall creatures anyway, this just sweetens the deal.

Good in the right type of deck. Turns your harrow into an instant speed +4/+4. Possible +6/+6 if you also hit your land drop.
