Great Art.Awesome in 5 color deck. Grants player 1 extra mana each turn+buffing itself up.Perfect for terramorphic type cards. cheap for a 3 mana card.

Very playable card in current formats

All sorts of fun things you can do with this. Dryad Arbor, Terramorphic Expanse, etc. It'd be so easy to make this card huge, and as an added benefit it'll strip some of those extra lands out of your deck and accelerate your mana base. Not bad at all.

Not bad for the Lorwyn Rare lands (Mosswort Bridge, etc...) The ability to search ahead in your deck is nice by sacrificing a plain or forest...

Also a great way to bypass CIPT lands, by turning your plains and forests into tri-colour lands on your opponents turn.

Fetching lands was never easier.

And my inner Johnny screams for building a deck around that card.

★★★★☆ (4.8/5.0) (6 votes)
By sacrificing a forest or plains, it pumps itself and puts ANY land into play. You'll never be mana screwed with this fellow. He plays well with Worm Harvest and Dredge. Lord of Extinction, Terravore, and Ghastly Demise love this card as well.

This is going to be straight ridiculous with the new Landfall mechanic in Zendikar... It's going to get ugly.

This little lady goes beautifully with the new Zendikar fetch lands and Lotus Cobra.
Because Knight does not specify basic lands, any landfall abilities you currently have on the field can be procced twice, and being able to tap that plains/forest for 1 mana before saccing is just that little bit she needed to give herself 5/5

I use this card in a deck that incorporates lotus cobra and other landfall green cards like rampagin baloth's. It really boosts the landfall acceleration. Great card 5/5.

I love when wizards makes a card that works so much better with an upcoming set.

Performs really well in WBG with fetch lands and Ob Nixilis. And only after looking at the enlarged art in the recent Building on a Budget that I realized that this awesome knight is a she! Rafiq knows where the goods are.

The artwork here reminds me of Leelee Sobieski in Joan of Arc. God, how I love her... (^_^)

Question: If I grab a land that has "ETB tapped" does the land come in tapped?

"Question: If I grab a land that has "ETB tapped" does the land come in tapped?"

It enters the battlefield tapped. If it doesn't say that, then no.

Don't forget this guy taps "for mana"; swapping a tapped land for an untapped land nets you an extra mana every time you use him.

Stupid question, but would it get stronger if there's lands in the graveyard before it comes in to play? or would Knight of Reliquary need to sac. the lands?
bigreen24

i have a question. when you play this card on your turn, can you trigger it on the opponent's turn right after?
abra24
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
Yes it gets bigger even if it's not the reason lands are in your GY. All lands in your GY give +1/+1

You cannot activate creature abilities that tap if the creature has come under your control since your last upkeep. So once she's down, you gotta wait till your next upkeep to use the ability.

Also, she's amazing. My UWG landfall loves her. Emeria angel and ramp baloths best friend.

tap, sac forest or plains, search for fetchland, crack fetchland for forest or plains (depending on which fetchland you use). That's 3 landfall triggers for 1 life. Seems good...

Mana fixes, Mana accels (the lands come into play untapped), and landfalls while boosting itself in the process. Epic card.

This is what I call a one-card combo. In other words, the folks at wizards do the thinking for us in making cards like this one and take away the fun from having to come up with a clever synergy. Very good card, but dumb, very very dumb.

I agree with bulhakas, its so good you dont even need another card. I mean obviously its fantastic for landfall decks, but in its own right, she thins out your deck and pumps herself up, very sweet.

Edit: Quote of the day (I heard this on a youtube video): "Well, I have a turn 2 knight of the reliquary, but that's nowhere near as good as an ajani's pridemate."

Synergy with the already insanely powerful fetchlands?
Check.
Colorfixing for color-heavy spells?
Check.
Repeatable landfall at your will?
Check.

Stupid good card.

This card is insane! The lack of legendary status means you could theoretically have a bunch of creatures that pumps each other +4/+4 a turn while giving you 4 free mana.
This card doesnt even need to combo to be awesome!
Only drawback is thinning out mana in your deck means less chance of drawing additional lands and that its somewhat slow to get strong.
Proliferate friendly though.

this card is one of the main reasons why bant, naya, and gw decks are doing good in extended and legacy.

knights vs dragons is coming out, if this card is allowed play in standard, then I won't be surprised if bant or naya variations starts replacing UW as the top deck of the format.

@swords_to_exile well both This card and Elspeth are Knights from Bant so I'm guessing the similarity was intentional. That being said this card is amazing, just ridiculous

Oh this art, this art...! The other art is ridiculous, how could they even create such a crap when this masterpiece came out first!!??. If were not for this art I wouldn't use it, can't bear to read such a beautiful name and then look at that other unglued-style, childish and bad art.

Why, oh why did they change it!???

Anyway, Zuran Orb, Crucible of Worlds and Mox Diamond all have great synergy with it.

For those who, like me, love this artwork, take a look at what this guy did, nice:

Knight of the Reliquary is hands down in my top 5 cards ever. Killer artwork, completely absurd ability, and so much finesse and flavor that I could just puke fetchlands.

She is good at so many things. Mana fixing is just the beginning. Lotus Cobra+Fetchlands+KOTR is perhaps one of the most beautiful and simple mana interactions available in all of MTG.

Block->tap to sack a land-bring out a Ghost Quarter->sack the Quarter and another land=KOTR suddenly becomes 3 power more formidable than before. Have a Lotus Cobra in play when all of this is going down? Even better.

Lands that enter the battlefield tapped are also no longer an issue. Wait until the end of your opponents turn to activate the Knight, grab a Celestial Colonade, untap and swing. Or wait until they are foolish enough to waste a Path or Bolt and fetch a Sejiri Steppe in response.

There are just so many fantastic ways to utilize KOTR that she keeps surprising everyone.

Wasteland-locks, a huge beater, utility fetcher, mana-ramper, Sneak Attack and Dredge hater; all rolled into one.

He took Legacy by storm for a reason: because he tells half the combo decks out there to shut up while being one of the biggest possible fair-deck beaters available; walking all over even batterskulls.

My absolute favorite creature in Magic. Amazing all the way from its artwork to its natural synergy with the pace of a game.
