The patch of cracked ground around the orb is pure genius. Kudos to the art direction.

Great if you can get lands out of your graveyard.

Just one of the many cards you can use to combo off of Crucible of Worlds. Add any one of the dozens of cards that let you play extra lands per turn and you got a solid combo rolling.
I love how this is higher rated than the other versions. I guess From the Vault is cluing people in on which cards can be broken.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the Fastbond+Crucinle Of Worlds, when the land reenters the battlefield, it is untapped, so you basically have infinite mana?

Who doesn't love a good slice of tree cake?
I remember when crucible came out, I was the first in my area to play it with Fastbond and the orb. a 3rd turn equaled a VERY long game, it was usually over on turn 1.
The highest rated card on gatherer, as of 3/30/2011.
Wrexial is up there, really close.

If this card cost any more, everyone would hate it... But its just right, and I think thats why everybody loves it. Simple, not weird or stupid, just land-sacrificing-life-gaining action

For the love of Richard Garfield! Can't we stop hearing about "Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds + Whatever" combos already? They've been established, they're decent, they're totally uncreative at this point, they've been beat to death and Fastbond is banned in Legacy.
Flavor text from hell. I understand this line of thinking. and use it often.

While not broken it is extremely breakable. I don't like it still 4.5/5 for being good

I keep reading the card, going "why is this rated so highly?!? Then I saw the cost was 0. What the hell.

barring incredibly bizarre combos, you wouldn't normally want to draw more than one of these- even if you're first got destroyed, using a full playset in a 60-card deck doesn't sound right.
Sometimes you just need to manually force Land Tax to activate.

Straight from the "life gain doesn't matter" vault. Heh. For any skeptics out there, seriously, put a couple of these in your decks. It will help you overcome your spikeboy anti-life gain bias.
Zuran Orb was restricted to 1-per-deck for a while back in the day because of its extreme power. On its own it can keep you alive long enough to help you swing the game. When paired with Armageddon, Balance, Land Tax, Land Equilibrium, and so on, it becomes outrageous. Again, don't just take our word for it! Try it out and see! And you shall understand why the Orb caused Zur the Enchanter to go off the deep end, drunk with power

This card added enjoyment to games that Necro never did.

How about we talk about using the Orb in, I don't know, a Prosbloom-esque mill deck alongside Planar Birth, Hedron Crab, Natural Balance, Scapeshift, Lotus Cobra and Squandered Resources?
Say that to "From the Vault: Legends"
I don't like it
still 4.5/5 for being good

is it better to run 3 copies, or 2?
@ BegleOne: Maybe a Planar Birth/Sanguine Bond combo? It might be a bit slow, but I can see it being effective.
