Love this card! All creatures that are both blue and green get +2/+2 and all creatures that are green OR blue get +1/+1, and all creatures that are green or blue untap at the end of the turn, great for a Bant deck that has a lot of blue and green, attack with a lone creature while tapping other creatures to give it abilities such as trample, shroud and making it unblockable, then you un-tap all of them =)

One of my personal favorite cards from the Eventide set. Play this card and stoic angel together to put your opponents in complete lockdown.

Zombie HammerHead Whale Horror. Wow Now Thats Why I Play This Game.
Now if you had agreed with the previous posters and said Stoic Angel and this guy work well together, you'd be spot on. Throw in some Zuran Spellcasters some Minister of Impediments and other such cards with tap abilities and you've got a really sick combo. Forcing everyone to untap 1 land at a time without reason gets you killed fast in group games and is a waste of a turn and mana in a tournament.

I almost thought it would go well with the Orb and mana elves, but why would green care about having mana free on the other guy's turn? Too bad there's no blue mana creatures,Apprentice Wizard nonwithstanding, but that would be too much of a boon to counterspells.

The thought of this in a Squirrel-Opposition deck is obscene.
The Protean Hydras are now immune to lethal damage. Go ahead and block with them as much as you like, then attack when you get the chance!
Also, playing Dolman Gate with this card is REALLY a mean trick to play, since you can attack with everything you have, shrug off all defensive damage from your attacks, and then untap and prepare for blocking by the beginning of your opponent's turn.

This card has so many possibilities - and it is one of my favorite cards.

One of my favorite hybrids out there...i use these guys in a bant deck with the likes of Jhessian Infiltrator, Nulltread Gargantuan, Mystic Snake, Rhox War Monk, and Jenara, Asura of War. Throw in some Birds of Paradise and maybe Garruk Wildspeaker for accel, and a couple of Arcanis the Omnipotent just for giggles!!

I can totally see this coming out of the water and going "MOOOOOO!!!" But also, this can combo with Winter Orb and such if you have Dryad Arbors or Life and Limb...I suppose you could use Omnath, Locus of Mana to float obscene amounts of green mana to your next phase...but there are better uses for those cards

Shadowmoor had better Demigods and Eventide had better Lieges. I wish the level of quality could have been better spread out.

I see the similarity between this card and Seedborn Muse, but they are different. Notice that the Muse untap all permanents while Murkfiend Liege only untap creatures, and only blue/green ones at that?
No, Liege does not replace Seedborn Muse

Dear God, the possibilities with this monstrosity are so vast that the Johnny in me just mentally overdosed thinking about all the possible combos that you could pull off with help from this guy. But the one that keeps coming back to me the strongest is to run him in a concept beat-down/counterspell deck (lol, wut?) that lets you pummel you opponent during your turn and prevent them from doing anything during theirs. Turn all your lands into creatures like with Liege of the Tangle or Life and Limb when you've got a Prismatic Omen out and rolfstomp them during your turn, then drown them in Counterspells and Voidslimes during theirs.
5 out of 5, for opening up the door to so many insane combos that it makes my head spin.

Life and Limb or similar makes the combos with Mungha Wurm, Winter Orb, and kin work.
Combo with Experiment Kraj. All {B/G} creatures get +4/+4 AND untap again during your opponent's upkeep? Between Kraj and Cytoplast Manipulator, you're golden.
The combo: Simply use your turn skipper to skip all of your turns (Chronatog by using the ability during each of your opponent's turns, Eater by flicking it), then activate the Arcanist with Time Stop on him during each of your opponent's upkeeps to end their turn. They will then deck out.
It's foolproof! Easy to put together, your opponent will never topdeck removal, and it's so much better than just getting the arcanist with time stop and taking infinite turns yourself.

You're a weird, bloated mess, Murkfiend Leige, but you make my frogs and snakes very happy. Never change. 5/5

This card doesn't effect Mungha Wurm or Winter Orb at all.

- This dude
- Elite Arcanist
- Chronatog and/or Chronatog Totem and/or Eater of Days along with some flicker\
- Time Stop
- Blue/Green creatures that tap for six mana total
